@IceDragon416 Glad you like it! I love it when a battleship lets loose with its primary weapons; it's like the biggest F*** YOU you could say to an enemy short of a nuke, and the Iowas could even fire nuclear shells.
@NovaTopaz it looks like the aircraft carrier in your pic was built in Battleship Craft, Warship Craft, or Naval Craft. Am I correct in saying this is a game screenshot?
@JacobHardy64 ah, then it must be because, as the devs said, the ios beta is a few days older than the pc beta, so it might be missing a few things. Blame apples shit approval system for taking so long
@PhilipTarpley lemme guess, you kept slamming the throttles to 100? Anything over 25-30% before you are pulling back and moving at 90mph will do that to ya
@AviatorCleebo Ah, its ok, lol. I just have a hair-trigger temper, and though my life is in the shitter right now, I do take pride in my creations so I am extra-protective of them.
@AviatorCleebo Dude, you didn't "just use his cockpit," because I am the creator of the original one and I recognize my original body style. You didn't even try to change the general fuselage shape or the tailplane assembly. I'm not angry that you copied my plane, I like seeing what people come up with, but never, EVER, try to pull the "I only used the cockpit" lie again.
@UnknownVectors If you are asking for advice on how to get points: Unfortunately, no, I have no advice. I have never been one to upload many aircraft, as I usually keep what I make. In addition, I haven't uploaded anything in months, and this site has changed in ways that I personally do not support, so I usually hang out on the subreddit instead.
If you are asking for some other form of advice, such as aircraft building, please specify and I will see what I can help you with.
@LordofLego Alright, thanks. I didn't mean to come across as rude with that statement, it is just my way of telling people to mind their own business. Like you said and like I said, I am not the nicest person on planet Earth, so I am a bit abrasive even if I don't mean to be. Lets just bury the hatchet and forget this ever happened, ok?
:)
@LordofLego two things:
1: Don't go reopening old scabs, ESPECIALLY when it doesn't concern you. You might find that advice useful in life.
2: if you'd do some research, you'd see that when I posted the comments, Phillip was actually working on a multiplayer mode. You can see the posts if you search for them in the subreddit(shame it got shelved :/). Anyways, the fact is that at the time, multiplayer was being worked on and my concerns were legitimate.
Also, yes, I DO personally believe the vtol engine detacher trick is very cheap, though maybe not "cheating." If you have a problem with that, deal with it. You can also deal with my unpleasantness, because that is just how I am and as much as I sometimes wish I was a nicer person, I don't believe it will ever happen. Such is the way my brain is wired.
@JMicah4 Several reasons why I've been quiet. I have been busy working on the SimpleWarships mod for SP, I have been busy with other things IRL, and I haven't had the motivation to build anything, and nothing I have tried to build recently has panned out.
@Electra10 Thanks, but don't bother. @dogerki has a valid gripe against me, and I against him, so its understandable that we aren't on the best of terms; however, @NickG9 got involved in something that was none of his business. There are many kinds of people on the internet, and one kind is a sort of pond scum you see floating in stagnant swamp water. This kind of person has no energy nor the motivation to pursue their own business, so their only recourse is to stick their noses into others' business and leech off of it. This is what we are probably dealing with here. This kind of person is pretty much immune to being given moral lessons, so against one like NickG9, words are useless. Thanks for calling him out on it though, I appreciate it. :)
Anyways, I have been working on something that is perfectly tailored to give NickG9 the biggest middle finger possible, so if you want to see him get his comeuppance, just sit and watch.
@Wakescar I've just not been in the mood to do anything recently in the game, plus, I've been doing other things(like the warship mod and IRL work and stuff). I have a few projects in various stages of completion, but they are all waiting on something or I just haven't gotten around to them. I don't really try to compete in the best replica categories anymore, instead doing unique things and trying out new technologies. I haven't had any good ideas in a while, though.
However, your comment here got me thinking about the propeller, and I just had an idea as to how maybe I could build a better version that actually works, so.... yeah. The fires of creation may not be roaring once more, but for the first time in quite awhile, theres a bit of a spark. Just gonna have to see if this one pans out, or whether it turns into a technological dead-end like the last few.
@Wakescar Also, at least a few users did utilize this prop design. There were a few big bomber replicas that came out after this using a similar setup; however, I do not believe they had the variable-pitch feature. I don't see it around too often anymore, though I made very good use of a variation of this design inside my P-90 Turbinia
@Wakescar I've run tests where I set the VTOL nozzles to always point sideways(by having them rotate opposite the propeller blades), making them produce no directional thrust. In those cases, the blades alone were able to get the plane moving at around 65mph under certain circumstances. Phillip tested the concept with some developer tools and was able to get the blades spinning so fast that they produced as much thrust as a medium jet engine, but at those rotation speeds, the game physics can't keep up and the blades actually stretch out as if they are mounted on springs.
@Hypnoticchicken good start, could use a bit of detail. Try using structural wings to outline little things like the cables along the outside of the vehicle, like what I did for the train.
@qwert13357 Yes. Before the game went into the 1.0 release, there was another set of stock aircraft made by the devs. However, they thought that their stock planes were inferior to the designs users were making, so when the game was ready for the 1.0 release, they held a bit of a contest. They told us what kinds of planes they were looking for, and the best plane out of each category would be a stock aircraft. This design won the "basic jet" category and was made into a stock aircraft. The same is true for all the other stock planes in the game; if you search hard enough and delve through the predecessors of all the copied stock aircraft uploaded by new users, you will find a very old aircraft that is dated before the 1.0 release date(in my case, this one is six months old and came out well before the release).
Hmm.... yet another random account that joins, posts a few copied aircraft, and immediately gets fivestarred by jundroo or another new account which jundroo previously upvoted....
I'm keeping my eye on you, jundroo.
Really interesting concept. I studied hypothetical WW2 weaponry and this one always intrigued me. However, it wouldn't have worked irl though if the Nazis tried because of things like reentry heating.
@Katrina really? I flew it maybe 20 times because I had to test things and it never selfdestructed... what kind of device you running on and what physics settings?
@ElijtheGeat It was made on a netbook before the website even existed, so the website probably has no record of what I built it on. I did build my gaming pc, but that shows up here as "Windows."
@dogerki Yes, I do. I'm just worried about the future of the game, since I've already seen one of my favorite games(very similar to this one) collapse, and I am desperate to stop this one from doing the same. Anyways, it seems that continuing this argument will get us nowhere. Agree to disagree?
@dogerki I understand that they may be intended for singleplayer, but the internet is full of assholes. And guaranteed there will be people that will abuse theseon MP, and then others will start using them in MP just to try and fight back, and so on and so forth until its ALL OVER MP! All it takes are a few unscrupulous douchebags to set it all off! Don't you see what I'm talking about?
@dogerki I do not care. I fight for the game, not for my own personal ratings. I thought my reddit post about this was going to get downvoted to hell, and you know what? I DIDN'T CARE. The game means more to me that my rankings, and if I fall in the rankings, thats a fair trade if I can help stop things like this before they ruin the game.
@hypnotoad lol, I already voted 5. And its alright, I'm not going to go all apesh*t on you for the plane, especially because you do acknowledge it and because it was posted before you read the message. I have that happen to me on wikia all the time because wikia likes to delay some messages(friggin wikia servers >.<). Anyways, do you have a reddit account?
@hypnotoad I understand. I am just worried about the game. I already watched one game I loved fall apart due to something out of our control, and I cannot stand idly by and let the same happen here. Anyways, no offense is taken, and the plane looks so good that it would normally have gotten a 5star from me. Just remember, though, that even if you don't intend to cause harm, there is a very well-known saying that applies here:
"The road to hell is paved with good intentions."
Cheers!
@Allstarship I understand. My quarrel isn't with using modded pieces for yourself, but rather releasing them to the public and/or intending to sue them in MP. The thing is, people who DON'T have any qualms about being an unfair douchebag now have access to these pieces since they are being spread.
@IceDragon416 Glad you like it! I do believe this will help put an end to all the rating issues. Nice job!
@Dullwolf I might do another "beater aircraft" after I finish prototyping a new engine for the P-90 Turbinia.
Looks amazing!
Looks awesome, man!
@JacobHardy64 ah, then it must be because, as the devs said, the ios beta is a few days older than the pc beta, so it might be missing a few things. Blame apples shit approval system for taking so long
@JacobHardy64 new version hasnt hit ios yet
@PhilipTarpley lemme guess, you kept slamming the throttles to 100? Anything over 25-30% before you are pulling back and moving at 90mph will do that to ya
@ctracerx2 if more people encounter that problem, I may make the xml available on google drive
@AviatorCleebo Ah, its ok, lol. I just have a hair-trigger temper, and though my life is in the shitter right now, I do take pride in my creations so I am extra-protective of them.

@UnknownVectors Ignore them. Or if that isn't your thing, fight back and beat them.
@UnknownVectors If you are asking for advice on how to get points: Unfortunately, no, I have no advice. I have never been one to upload many aircraft, as I usually keep what I make. @WalrusAircraft I do. Is very nice boat. Such pretty. Much detail. Wow.

@qwert13357 yes, really. Look at the age of my plane and compare it to the date of the 1.0 release :)

@mufasa6896 All it needs is some polish. The hull shape may do with being more rounded and streamlined, specifically.
+1Nice escort carrier hull
@eric314 I still get double-digit framerates.
Very impressive!

@FIRESHOTER @AirsoftPilot Cthulhu is the name of one of MY projects. Here is a link to a WIP album showing Cthulhu's frame: http://imgur.com/a/6Xi5e
Nope, not the biggest. Cthulhu is bigger :)
Very nice for a first attempt, but rough around the edges.
Very very nice
@thomasjaf there aren't any transparent parts. He simply used a little trick I taught him to make "ghost" connections.
Really interesting concept. I studied hypothetical WW2 weaponry and this one always intrigued me. However, it wouldn't have worked irl though if the Nazis tried because of things like reentry heating.
NICE
@Katrina really? I flew it maybe 20 times because I had to test things and it never selfdestructed... what kind of device you running on and what physics settings?
@Katrina this is my submission for the 1949 challenge. READ THE FLIGHT INSTRUCTIONS before you fly, or you may not be able to fly it properly.
HAHA

I'd rate 0 if I could. STOP SPREADING THESE ENGINES!!!!!!!!!!! MULTIPLAYER WILL BE RUINED BY THESE THINGS!
