@Lahoski107
A five minute plane won't come remotely close to winning. If you want to win this tournament you need a plane that goes about 756, that takes an efficient route and rarely crashes. If you start from scratch you won't be able to achieve either of first two things I listed in 5 minutes. And the real problem is combining all three.
@dovahdesigns
The only XML modding used on this plane are disabling of collisions and adding control surfaces to structural wings. Both are allowed by the rules.
@dengmahalYT
On the right of this page you should see in big blue: 'your matches'. Under that you'll find 'view match' click on that. After that click on view and you'll see the replay of your match on youtube.
@EarthwormJim
But KiNo has already beaten my twice before in a match... Third time is the charm right? That means that I'm going to win this time... Right...?
@EarthwormJim
On this course high wing loading is not necessarily a bad thing indeed. In the previous daredevil (the mod class) whilst able to pick any wing loading I want I picked 26 and KiNo went for 23.
That said, for Ayano-Kyouko I was forced to use below 20 wing loading because otherwise the pitch would be slightly under powered.
@EarthwormJim
Hmm, you must have had an unlucky run. I'm pretty sure the survival rate should be about 90%.
Anyway, I probably would have made it slightly slower to up the reliability a slight bit more if my only objective was to win the tournament. But than it wouldn't be a second faster than DampfDrachen.
@SuperSanic
All runs left start.
Roundabout: 10 runs, 1 crash. 1:03-1:04
Sticky Fingers Requiem: 10 runs, 4 crashes 2, runs had one or more missed ring. 55-56
@Hockeygoalie21
My fastest plane reaches 2200 during the race and completes it in 49 seconds. But it is quite possible to go a lot faster than that with a jet when flying straight for long enough.
@SuperSanic
'Does the AI hate me' silly question, the AI hates us all with passion. It loves to crash our planes and to bring tears in our eyes. It's a sadist like that.
@AndrewGarrison
The bug where the game thinks that fast planes miss the last ring when they don't is especially common on this track. Will you be enlarging the last ring for the tournament?
@Alienbeef0421
I only remember one daredevil, and in that one the evil KiNo dared to ruin my dreams by beating my plane by a whole second. One day I'll avenge myself... Which reminds me, KiNo also ruined my dreams in the last Indy Air race. D:
Anyway, back to luck... The reason people can win races by luck is because most people simply don't do proper reliability tests.
Fortunately I'm here now, and I do know how to do reliability tests... Luck won't win this tournament.
Daredevil but not mod class... Well this is problematic, I don't have a non mod class jet with landing gear. I'll have to make a plane from scratch. D: Well, last time a prop reached the finals in the mod class. But still... I should make a jet probably...
I didn't know that my evil nemesis KiNo would appear again in this tournament. If I had known I would have prepared better. But alas, I failed you all. I have no choice but to seppuku,
@Alienbeef0421
"XML Modding is only allowed in the Mod Class tournaments. For any other tournament, all properties on the engines and fuel tanks must be confined within the normal ranges allowed in the SimplePlanes plane designer."
I'm pretty sure that adjusting max rpm is not allowed.

I don't think you've uploaded it publicly, I can't find it...
@Tully2001
I suppose I need to improve Storzhkin a bit or make a new plane even, to prove that 1:35 is quite possible.
@Alienbeef0421
I suppose I could do a quick test. What plane are planning to use for the tournament?
@Chesty
Yes.
1:36 for Storzhkin. I'm not sure whether I should bother to try to improve on that time. A glitch plane can easily out speed my plane anyway...
@NishiKinuyo
You are allowed to do so, I have done it half a dozen times myself.
@dengmahalYT
Oh, it seems you got disqualifed.

Just relax, cool down and smash that upvote button into submission. :P
@SuperSanic
I'll be crying if it gets four.
I'd flip my desk, but it would be hard to spam the refresh button if I'd broke my pc. D:
Time to spam the refresh button! :D
@EarthwormJim
KiNo, robbing me of first place in tournaments since the previous daredevil... D':
@EarthwormJim

@EarthwormJim
He is actually here, oh no. D:
I should have submitted my 49 seconds plane. :P
@EarthwormJim
I'm expecting KiNo to join last minute. So he can ruin my day yet again. :D

Well, I uploaded my plane. Completes the track in 53 seconds and misses checkpoints way too often. May the AI have mercy upon me.

Sticky Fingers Requiem: 10 runs, 4 crashes 2, runs had one or more missed ring. 55-56
54 seconds, crash rate of 10% and 20% chance of missing a checkpoint. Finally I'm getting somewhere close to a decent entry.
@EarthwormJim
About 20% reliability at the moment, you are very doomed. :P

Why make a glitch plane? You can go much faster with a jet on this course.

@FlyingFanatic
It is counted as a loss if your plane fails to reach the finish within 3 minutes. You need to make a slightly faster plane.
@marcox43
My 1:01 plane reaches up to 1.7k mph during the race. But I'll probably use a slightly slower plane during the tournament.
@Alienbeef0421

@Champ9961
Winning tournaments is a matter of making a plane that is both fast and reliable.
@Alienbeef0421
But how am I supposed to win tournaments if I can't convince my opponents to go too fast?
It's time for the early intimidation campaign! My plane completes the track in 1:01 and has a 'low' 40% chance of crashing.
Daredevil but not mod class... Well this is problematic, I don't have a non mod class jet with landing gear. I'll have to make a plane from scratch. D: Well, last time a prop reached the finals in the mod class. But still... I should make a jet probably...
@Alienbeef0421
Uh, I haven't even started working on my car yet. D:
Hmm, a car tournament. It seems that it is time for me to study KiNo's cars and learn how to dominate car tournaments.
I didn't know that my evil nemesis KiNo would appear again in this tournament. If I had known I would have prepared better. But alas, I failed you all. I have no choice but to seppuku,
@AudioDud3
Not awake enough! D:<
Yo @AudioDud3 , @EarthwormJim wants someone (me perhaps?) to wake you up. So wake up dude.
May the AI crash my plane is a slightly more artistic way than it will crash my opponent's planes. :P

@hopotumon
Why not? In my own tests his plane hasn't crashed once or anything, his plane is just excellently balanced and all.
Even if I sufficiently improve the balance to stop my plane from missing rings at full speed. I'll still only do 30-31... GG KiNo.
Hmm, KiNo is back... Well, unfortunately I don't think I've enough time nor motivation to improve my plane...
Well, I uploaded my plane. 34-36 seconds and 96% survival rate. Should be enough to get me pretty far into the tournament with a bit of luck.
@hopotumon
By doing proper reliability tests one can minimize the chances of the AI ruining their day.
Hmm, the best I seem to be able to do with good reliability is 35-36. It seems that KiNo is a greater magician than I am. D:
I somehow left the AI confused about what the front of my plane is. Progress!
Unfortunately, the only old Mehgjik prototype I have left is the wrong one. I have to work almost from scratch. D:
