@MintLynx I got the finnicky Underwater Camera to work so it looks pretty good in the water. That's a pretty cool idea to use the VTOL to emulate the ballast system as though it's pressurizing or depressurizing.
I'll see if I can screw around with it and make it fly legitimately. So far it's been one engine and a whole lot of gyroscopic torque.
Looks great! What's the purpose of the circular object with 2 VTOL engines floating alongside the Submarine? I've got a reasonably good phone but nothing good enough to use water physics, so I'm just seeing what parts I can internally tear out of it to make it easier on my phone.
Or, we can make it unceremoniously fly instead of being in water. But I still need to know what it does!
Nice work, awesome looking Dragonfly/Bubbleship! It looks pretty great.
Would have preferred white but a repaint is easy. The drone attached on the back is pretty rad looking, too.
.
As for your request in regards to shooting video - I have a good phone but the 720p limit by YouTube when I try to screen cap is unacceptable. If it's alright with you I'll create a test reel but I don't have the ability to overlay complementing music over it. It'll also have that stupid button with my channel icon over it that won't disappear, either.
What's the map you used in the second picture in the top slideshow? I've been scouring all over SimplePlanes for an Android map that has some snow on it.
The way the nose cone rounds nicely is truly the icing on the cake. A little laggy to fly on my phone, but great to look ay nonetheless. Quality Content!
Edit: the lag cleared up and it's back to 100-ish FPS. I love the care you took in smoothing up the fuselage and adding some instruments!
@Bman01 Thanks :) I guess I finally picked up the building tools because of the enhanced transform tool and the ability to reconnect parts. It's a lot easier to do on Android now.
@NeonEndo That might be a problem. Let me test all of mine now and I'll get back to you. I know that Starbound's Environment Settings works so far, I'll check Overload again at your request and the request of @Prolex917.
@XjayIndustrys By drifting, is it a banking sort of maneuver like it's strafing, or is it spinning at the blade axis? If it's spinning, that's by design. Helicopters IRL need tail rotors because the body wants to spin with the rest of the spinning blades.
If it's banking/strafing, I don't know what it is then.
@BoeyingOfficial Even better: A little note too. Not only can you add someone as a co-author, you can attribute a specific thing to them, like part of a build.
@tylerdeveneuxmusic Yeah, I'm immediately surprised how much smoother bigger builds are running. Some incredible optimizations yo the code and I'm really happy about it.
@Prolex917 You can do so with XML modding. If you have an iOS device that doesn't support modding, you'll just need to ask the forums for example for the part you need modded to the speed you need.
Changing the speed of such an old part globally that's been used in so many builds will cause big issues with builds designed for the older speed of the engine. It's just not worth accidentally breaking so many planes.
@WNP78 Nice on that refueling mod update! One of the issues I have is that some planes I make are too slow for the tankers, could you add a variety of tankers that fly at different speeds in the map based on a menu setting or using the Mod Settings mod that HellFireKoder designed?
There was a refuelling mission but for some reason every plane I spawned in nosed down immediately, and I think (at least for Android) the mission is broken. Could you check up on that and maybe fix it for the update?
Nice! I mentioned before that picture-in-picture was being stopped when you opened the app for Android. It was either fixed in the original 1.8 or is fixed now and I thank you for that!
Edit: A tweak I'd enjoy is that a tire increasing in speed rapidly without traction or losing traction while being powered by an engine gives off smoke for the duration it doesn't have traction, so that when landing gear or resizable wheels land on the ground or drift cars start sliding, we get visible smoke? As a bonus, I'd even like to see different colors of smoke, and the ability to enable, change its color, or disable it as a function of the wheel.
@randomusername Nah. If you put in the effort to make a good car, you get more upvotes. I'm looking for quality planes and other aircraft (and upvotes) not low quality and high quantity productions. For once, I'm moving away from modifying designs and utterly overhauling them beyond people's wildest dreams. However, I do sometimes need help from friends, hence this forum post.
@randomusername @jamesPLANESii It's for a cosmetic part in a car engine bay. I need actual terminals to create cosmetic wiring that goes to an alternator.
Nice! I was worried with all the new hype following SR2 you'd abandon SimplePlanes, and I'm glad that's not the case. From what I can see, these are amazing parts that'll help make building much easier. Thanks for continuing to work on the app!
.
Also, get that Fiverr narrator guy back. He's great.
@PotaterKinger It's totally good! I love the plane for what it is, I couldn't design something half as amazing.
Although you and I have very different definitions of "easy to fly"... https://youtu.be/EuyuRnWh2z4
@Nerfenthusiast by soft, you mean it bounced like, only once, right? Video proof or it doesn't exist lol
Just kidding, but seriously though, custom landing gear tends to be impossibly stiff. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/484114586488930304/515354207402852353/Screenshot_20181011-135817.png clears throat at AXP Airlines' BM-120A

@DemonSniper8 I understand. I've been working on updating a Time Attack E30. I've been having crap luck with the wishbones in the suspension system. Sometimes the order you place the parts in matters.
.
I also was saying the trunk opening in reference to the recent Pagani build. It's understandably difficult.
@DemonSniper8 no, not really. A rotator part that could lift up the back would be nice, but you could also try the Aventador sort of thing and put structural panels on the back of the car so the engine can be viewed through small slits.
C'mon, you still won't make a rear window for the beautiful engine you've created? I loved it in the last edition, but it was still closed off. I'm sure you put a lot of work into the intercoolers and cams.
@hellgaming by making the aiming circle very large. You need a mod to access XML, like WNP78's Overload Mod. Then, you'll need to add attributes to the missiles you'll be using, making the angle of lock very high, as well as the speed to lock low. (https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/484114586488930304/510330080996884480/Screenshot_20181108-214227.png)
For example, these Quantitas missiles from the AGRAV Fighter Sunburn (by spefyjerbf) have a small angle of attack but lock immediately. Their speed is high, reaching their target sooner, but leaving little time to turn, making them effectively dumb fire missiles that'll let you know when you're directly on your target.
Conversely, a 360° angle of lock allows you to lock on to anything in any direction, and a lock time of 0 locks on immediately. All the attributes here need to be created in the editor, but the angle of lock and lock time are the only ones you need to add and manipulate in this scenario.
Mods are available for Android, Macintosh and Windows devices, and on the Steam Workshop for devices like Linux that natively support Steam.
A thank you would be appreciated, you know. I don't tend to answer questions in this much detail normally.
@hellgaming XML Modding is when you make parts do things that parts shouldn't do, like shooting bombs, or really fast firing guns, or fuselages with no mass.
The term arises from the XML (code) of a given SimplePlanes part, and the modding is the editing part. An Android version is available on the Mods page.
Adding trees to the main map would make it a lot better and less empty feeling.
Coniferous trees for Snowstone, and tropical trees and their variants for Krablabloa and Wright.
And as a final little touch, could you be so kind as to make the mod in line with HellFireKoder's Mod settings mod? That way we can change the density of trees to make sure games don't lag, without making a one-size fits all that still feels blank for users who have high-end Android devices that can support such a large number of trees.
@MintLynx I got the finnicky Underwater Camera to work so it looks pretty good in the water. That's a pretty cool idea to use the VTOL to emulate the ballast system as though it's pressurizing or depressurizing.

Does the engine cut out when you do a negative-G manuever?

Incredible work with the cinematography, as well as the use of the Instrumentation mod! I wholly enjoy this.
I have wanted this IKEA lamp for so long! It pulls out and all the pieces coordinate and slide outwards.
@Gavin2009 look who didn't read the description. This is a controller, not the actual ship. It causes the ship itself to work normally.
Absolutely incredible. Not only are you able to create high-quality cars for the SimplePlanes community, you upload regularly.
Your efficient artistry is dwarfs the projects I've been struggling to continue.
It runs perfectly with all settings at high except for physics at medium on my Android.

I half-expected you to just rickroll us when Android asked me if I wanted to open in Chrome or YouTube app.
@CrashFighter05 don't worry, the floorpan is missing already.
@ColonelStriker Yeah, it keeps making weird revving noises and shaking back and forth.
...is that the smell of burnt tires?
@Bman01 Thanks :) I guess I finally picked up the building tools because of the enhanced transform tool and the ability to reconnect parts. It's a lot easier to do on Android now.

@Prolex917 What XML modding are you using? I prefer WNP78's Overload mod. It still works for me.
I am assuming you're going into the XML and specifically finding the attribute for power multiplier?
@WNP78 Nice work on the expansion, then! It'll be a lot easier with slower tankers. You're absolutely overhauling the mod! Thank you!
@BlueCitrus I already got one, thanks for the offer.
@BoeyingOfficial Even better: A little note too. Not only can you add someone as a co-author, you can attribute a specific thing to them, like part of a build.
@TMR9001 Try angling the wing downwards using the transform tool.

@NeonEndo What kinds of mods? Mine are working just fine even if they are based on the older API.
@WNP78 Nice on that refueling mod update! One of the issues I have is that some planes I make are too slow for the tankers, could you add a variety of tankers that fly at different speeds in the map based on a menu setting or using the Mod Settings mod that HellFireKoder designed?

@DuckMint If only you'd make a 300 mile dirt trail with those trademark palm trees and dust of yours...
And collaborate with a creator that does Android! I have a powerful enough device to run some heavier maps.
Forgot to mention: the blue fuselage that makes up the transmission is the detach point. Make some engine mounts and stick it on!
Nice! I was worried with all the new hype following SR2 you'd abandon SimplePlanes, and I'm glad that's not the case. From what I can see, these are amazing parts that'll help make building much easier. Thanks for continuing to work on the app!

I love that you used an actual advertisement. I need more cars in my fleet, and this one is well built!
I love this design for how realistic it is, and the attention to detail!
It handles just like a real big SUV, braking is strong and shakes the body, and the chassis rolls while turning :)
@PotaterKinger It's totally good! I love the plane for what it is, I couldn't design something half as amazing.
Although you and I have very different definitions of "easy to fly"... https://youtu.be/EuyuRnWh2z4

@TakicraftCorporation looks so much better than this stripped down interior. If you're fine with it, I can do aftermarket fun with your cars.

@destroyerP yeah. The high-pitched exhaust notes will confuse them for sure.
Everyone's childhood. Not religious, but Amen to that!
