Earlier today B-17G "Nine O' Nine" was circling back for a landing at Bradley International Airport when the aircraft crashed into a Maintenance Shed and burst into flames. 5 people are dead and Nine O' Nine appears to be a complete loss based on photos of the wreckage.
@asteroidbook345 mine was in spring
@asteroidbook345 as did I that’s not good
@asteroidbook345 loooooololololololooloolll
There is a reason we don't fly these planes anymore
.
and that is they simply cannot be replaced
That’s definitely not worse then 5 people dying.
@AircraftoftheRedStar
*salute
NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Even worse, the last surviving Northrop N-9MB crashed into the courtyard of a California penitentiary in early April this year during a test flight. Totaled the plane leaving basically nothing behind. :,(
I was at work when I heard the news. You know, if my bucket list gets shorter, I want it to be by own doing, not the world's.
actually, it's not the o.g. nine 0 nine, but it is still sad
F
What a shame
these are sad times indeed, but lets not forget to continue keeping the active ones flying
OH NO! That made my whole evening sad!
@ForeverPie Yeah, you can travel through 2 states in a day easily on the east coast
That sucks... I saw about that earlier today, and it’s truly sad we lost another fortress of the sky.
Literally 2 states away from me, and everyone in New England knows thats not very far.
Oh no!
F
Oof
Ditto.
@TheFantasticTyphoon
When it comes to a duel between the ground and aviation the ground is yet to lose.
ah.. damn not another fortress lost to fire
