@TheOwlAce Yeah, this is 500% better than flutter-keys or mouse controls. The motions are more natural and precise. I'm definitely liking the change so far! I'll try out this button mapping. Thanks for responding! :)
@Skua You know, it's weird... I thought the twist was easier than the left-right motion for the first while. Then it started to feel weird when used in combination with the forward-back pitch control, so I switched it. Thanks :)
Works reasonably well. Though I had to keep the props oriented mostly vertical even mid-flight to prevent the nose from dipping really heavily. It's like the wings aren't producing as much lift as I thought they would. I wonder if the real osprey has this problem too?
@Oblivion yeah, it seems to be a bit on the top-heavy side, making it need constant adjustment just to stay level, and the lift generated at 100% throttle is just not enough to climb at a reasonable pace.
Ok, had a chance to play with it. Was a little confused when it exploded on the runway; that was my fault for rotating the VTOL motors on the ground. Vertical take-off only. check. The double rotor adds to the coolness that is already at pretty high levels ;) Was pleasantly surprised at its ability to land in water. Take-off from water required a slight tilting of the props so the bottom one was not submerged. Good plane!
I think people who play this game are more interested in building their own planes than trying out the shared planes. Also, there are just SO MANY shared planes added each day. Plus, after you've flown a few hundred planes, you've flown them all.
This community is a little stingy with upvotes. Probably at least in part because hundreds of airplanes are uploaded each day. Most communities have more viewers than publishers, but we're the other way around. Everyone wants to create and share their creations. That's really great, but it also means everyone is more interested in creating than trying other people's creations. Also, after you fly a hundred or so airplanes, they all start to look and fly about the same way, so there's a bit of a jaded factor here too. Hope this helps.
@TheOwlAce Yeah, I know what you mean. I tried to make a flying wing a while back too. It's tough. I'll have to give this design another spin when I get a joystick.
I really like the look of this craft, and the projectiles are fun. Its performance could use some improvement though. Maybe switch to under-wing wheels and move them farther out so it's less tippy on the tarmac. While innovative, your use of air brakes for yaw-control leaves much to be desired. Maybe increase the size of the vertical stabilizers and put yaw control on them.
Funny you should mention controllers in your description. I've been meaning to get a controller for a while now. What kind would you recommend?
I was able to improve the craft and remove the need for the launch cart! Check out the updated version!

@ronyseptian17 team simple planes :)
let's have a look, shall we?
you are asset to team.
speaking of optional functionality. freezing time would be nice for when I'm doing rapid-iteration testing.
what crafts are you guys using for this?
Looks nice. A little finicky to control though.
throws pokeball at airplane sorry, honest mistake.

My favorite part of this game is the devs. No, seriously. They're great. Thanks, guys.
black jacket, or blacket jacket? :^)
nevermind. just looked up the actual aircraft. my memory has failed me XD looks very authentic! will try it out when i get home.
those props look a little... erm, large?
saving for later use when i'm at home with my joystick. looks fun!
jet packing skeletons!?! end times are near
Neat osprey :) The RCN nozzles sure help maneuvering in hover mode. You've inspired me to work more on my unpublished osprey design.
I bet it runs for all of 5 seconds before the fuel runs out XD

@FlyingWingsGMBH It's a line from the magic school bus TV show. This plane reminds me of it :)
oh, and btw there's a "spacecraft" tag! :)
the top looks like an eye :o
"OH GOD, WAS THAT A MOUSE?!?" - USS Tiny, probably
I knew I should have stayed home today!
so what you're saying is that it's a relatively SIMPLE PLANE? @TheW4terDrop
You should add the tag "watercraft" ;)

Looks great and handles great too! Saving for future flights :)

very stylish
WITCHCRAFT
You can increase the gliding range by switching the wing style to flat-bottom.
Love this plane deployment mechanism!
+1 for explosive presents.
Nice glider aesthetic.
@bobthetitan123 Yep! Also, know your place, filthy mobile casuals hue hue hue
Oops, my mistake. I think maybe the lack of yaw on the vertical stabilizers threw me off a bit too. Really nice craft. @DAAviation2015
What are your improvements?
lolwhat
a little stiff to maneuver
Great work! Was easy enough to land IMO. If I may make one teeny tiny suggestion: enable turning on the front wheel for taxi

@Brandon604 @JaksPlanes
@TheChosenOne chuckled. thanks
Love what you've done with my starfighter.
@timeisimaginary This was about a year ago! Time flies when you're... er, flying?
@DethFromAbove Thanks! These old designs were uploaded before there was a rating system, so your rating's appreciated!
Hooray, more pixel art ~_~
