@SnoWFLakE0s so, does that mean challenge accepted? You are a wizard with funky trees so that would be entertaining to see what you come up with. Do you have SPVR?
@X99STRIKER I agree! There are many aircraft that can make quick work of the destroyers and the carrier but landing gracefully on the carrier afterward would take some piloting finesse.
Challenge: Who can sink both destroyers and then destroy the aircraft carrier and then land on it before it sinks…in VR? I require video evidence. First 3 videos of this in VR will receive 1000 points. Tag me in your post.
@Zacc513 it’s unfortunate but the resolution of some VR headsets does cause the displays to appear blurry at about the default distance. There is simply not enough pixels to render the gauges crisply at that distance. It is baffling because just moving your head forward a few inches is often enough to clear it up. I’m used to it now and hardly even notice. My head is moving all around when I’m flying and dropping countermeasures while dodging incoming missiles and gunfire.
@ACheGuevera I’m glad you are enjoying the game! The Oculus Quest version will not support mods, unfortunately. It’s an Android platform so it has the same limitations that prohibit the Google Play and Amazon version from running mods.
@Kangy thanks! I’ve been having so much fun trying out the newest builds in VR. Doesn’t matter if they are whites, golds, plats, you never know who’s going to make a great VR build.
@JoshuaW
1. I'm not sure, but I wouldn't expect it to hurt performance much.
2. I'll add this to a list of enhancements for AI craft. We do need to give them some more love at some point.
3. I don't know if there's a limit. Of course, performance will worsen as you add more variables, but it's hard to say by how much. I don't think 100 variables would be much of a problem for most devices.
Thanks for the suggestions.
@COMPASS curated means your craft will show up in SimplePlanes VR for players that are not logged in. If they log in, then they can see non-curated crafts.
@MrShenanigans There's no way to play SPVR without a VR headset. The Quest is actually a mobile device running Android and it is using the same quality settings that you will find on any other Android device. So that's why the water doesn't look as good on Quest as it does on PC.
Nice build and I'd love to curate this but there are a couple things preventing me from doing so. The airspeed gauge is not working correctly and there's no throttle control in the cockpit. If you add those, tag me on the post and I'll check it out again in VR for curation.
I know it's hard to get the scale right if you don't have access to SPVR, but everything in the cockpit is about 2x too large. Other than that, it's a nice build and I can tell you have put a lot of effort into it.
@ren64 v1.12 is now released on all platforms so you should be able to update for free anytime. Check the about page to see what version you are running.
@Bellcat We're still going to be curating for a little while, so they still have an important job. Just make sure to let us know when you make a new craft. I love your Atlas!
@Zaineman Downloading and flying planes is a lot of fun, but flying something that you built really is something you have to experience to fully understand how awesome and fun it is. I'm glad to hear you are enjoying the game to its fullest!
If you enjoy SimplePlanes VR, please consider leaving a positive review on the store where you bought it! It really helps to keep the Jundroo Machine running!
The 1.12 update for SimplePlanes is now live on all platforms. The Steam version of SimplePlanes will not have VR unless you purchase SimplePlanes VR on Steam. If you do, then it will unlock VR mode in the original SimplePlanes so you can easily toggle VR on and off during flight to test your builds out in VR.
Finally, a gyro that I can take the whole family on vacation with! I would love to curate this for VR, but the camera position is so low on the seat. If you can move the camera up a bit, let me know and I'll check it out again for curation. Also, the flight stick is very low too. If it was just a little higher that would also help.
This craft has a lot of potential. It just needs some sliders/levers in the cockpit so that VR players can control throttle and collective in VR. If you ever add that, let me know and I'll check it out for curation.
@klm747klm747 SPVR supports Oculus Quest on Steam. Just plug your Quest in with a USB-C cable (I actually prefer to use a USB-A to USB-C cable), enable Oculus Link, and launch SPVR. Unfortunately, a 5000 part build is unlikely to run well in VR as it needs to render each part twice (one for each eye) and at a higher framerate (72hz instead of 60hz).
@Leehopard Congrats! You are the third and final player to complete the challenge!
+2@JoshuaW lol, wow, that thing is just raw, hovering destruction in a tiny, Christmas-colored package!
Wow! Bravo! That was fantastic!
+1@Slaviguy you are the first winner! Wow! Congrats!
+1Lol, wow you made short work of that! You are the first winner. I will give you the award tomorrow morning! Congrats!
+7@poenix yep :)
@Slaviguy you will need to upload the video to YouTube and then create a video post here with a link to your YouTube video.
+1@SnoWFLakE0s so, does that mean challenge accepted? You are a wizard with funky trees so that would be entertaining to see what you come up with. Do you have SPVR?
@X99STRIKER I agree! There are many aircraft that can make quick work of the destroyers and the carrier but landing gracefully on the carrier afterward would take some piloting finesse.
+1@V I’ll give an extra 250 points for landing on a destroyer.
@Kangy nah, you don’t need all that. All you need is a $299 Oculus Quest 2!
+3@bipbip901 and I am second comment.
+11Challenge: Who can sink both destroyers and then destroy the aircraft carrier and then land on it before it sinks…in VR? I require video evidence. First 3 videos of this in VR will receive 1000 points. Tag me in your post.

@Hayhayjam664 if you play in VR in the original SimplePlanes, then yes the multiplayer mod should work while you are in VR mode.
+3@ACheGuevera I’m glad you are enjoying the game! The Oculus Quest version will not support mods, unfortunately. It’s an Android platform so it has the same limitations that prohibit the Google Play and Amazon version from running mods.
@poenix yep, updating the XML does cause the screenshots to disappear for a few minutes.
Very cool build! I had never heard of this and I love learning about unusual aircraft from the community.
+7Great build! I tweaked your XML to fix an issue with the airspeed gauge. Make sure to select Preset instead of Gauge Face when selecting a gauge type.
+1Curated
+2@Kangy thanks! I’ve been having so much fun trying out the newest builds in VR. Doesn’t matter if they are whites, golds, plats, you never know who’s going to make a great VR build.
+2It took me a little while to figure how to fly it, but it was pretty cool when I get the hang of it.
+2@factorization20 Looks great! It is now curated.
+10@klm747klm747 We don't have any plans to do that, but I agree that would be nice.

@se34ruy but now you can edit tags while your post is unlisted before publishing.
@ren64 are you playing SP or SPVR? What kind of device and what OS are you using? When does it crash?

+1Okay, everyone relax, and most importantly, don't talk to the AI.
+20Okay, enough of that peek! Lips are sealed!
+2@Jundroo, I didn't know you could talk! But yes, that would be great positive energy if the players could give Camodo's video some love!
+23@Captiandaves lol, glad to hear it...I think?
@ren64 v1.12 is now released on all platforms so you should be able to update for free anytime. Check the about page to see what version you are running.
@woodwinds11 No, unfortunately, there's no way to zoom on mobile but it's on the todo list for v1.13.
+1@Bellcat We're still going to be curating for a little while, so they still have an important job. Just make sure to let us know when you make a new craft. I love your Atlas!

+4@OldBomber No, purchasing SPVR on Steam will also unlock VR mode on the Steam version of SimplePlanes.
