@LordofLego No actual blood was skilled but at the time it was a lot of effort to make this look nice as well as fly well. Hope you like it, it's one of my favourites.
@traindude48 You can remove these and save as a component but the intake won't go with it because they were attached to another part of the body before I moved them. There is an attachment point on the left and right. You need a VTOL engine to run them.
@Stingray I meant the real plane. I couldn't find one where the radome extends. I'll have to find a video somewhere or just search for extending radome.
@BaconAndEggs96 They are attached to rotators. It's possible with part clipping to hide the rotator within the fuselage so it would only just show. In my case I was able to edit the position afterward to be better hidden for effect.
@PlanesOfOld I can make a real working prop but they are limited by size as they can only spin at a certain speed and simply can't create the right amount of air movement to get enough speed or in the instance of a helicopter, lift. I'll just wait for the new props in the updatem
@Hypnoticchicken I recall a sub of that description. It used VTOL engines which were left on ground so the sub could basically drive about on the land below the surface of the water.
@JacobHardy64 No it's not a real plane, but the technology was being invented at the time so I'm sure it could have existed had the war lasted a couple more years, so let's be glad it ended when it did.
Love it..the side parting, the moustache, the stick out tongue. I guess this is what Dad looked like when we were young and thought he was super and could do anything...including fly.
@PlanesOfOld Challenge accepted. It's been a while since I've made something without modding the xml. It's force of habit I'm afraid. I assume normal part clipping is acceptable?
@Scriefers I do the same quite often, it's amazing how much people have improved and especially when you see a build that someone has done in the early days and has re-created it again recently. How their building style has changed and how we have all taken advantage of the ability to part clip, mod and other tricks to make our builds look and fly even more realistically. I get a lot of enjoyment from playing this game, from my own as well as other peoples builds and being able to take part in what is clearly a great community. So long as that lives on, I don't intend to stop being a part of it.
@Cedy117 @Eric314 @JMicah4 @Rohan @jheffernan @NachoMan @planelover400 @Spikerya @Vikdesigns @PlanesOfOld @JacobHardy64 @Nightraider @AndrewGarrison @DailyCrash @Allstarship @TheFreakyWatermelon @maverickvii @karlosdarkness @DethFromAbove @FIOu @Teus @geekr @WalrusAircraft @LoganAerocraft @planesnthings @ramjet @Scriefers @thealban @Gelodicus @LjSpoke Thank you all for the comments and ratings, I hope you enjoyed flying it as much as i did making and testing it. This is definitely my favourite real plane so I put my heart into making it as nice as possible and was really happy with how it turned out.
@JMicah4 I assume you mean getting them like the railings on this boat. You should be able to steal them straight off for reuse, but basically I have made them this thin by changing the root and tip leading and trailing values to 0.05. This is the same as the thickness of the wing so they appear rectangular. You can reduce the values to near 0 for thiner, but there will always be an edge 0.05 thick.
@IMDABEST I removed the cockpit and saved the rest of the plane as a component. I put some addition structural wings on the MAZ trailer for the plane to attach to then added it. Only problem was I had to repaint the plane as it was now using the color schema of the MAZ xml file.
@NachoMan Now that I done it once, I will definitely keep doing it to all my new builds. I might not revisit my previous builds but I might recreate them, including the F-22 and F-35 eventually.
@LjSpike The drag and lift is natural but when used as a body part the game doesn't recognise when something is blocking the wing or if that wing should only have air moving over one surface. In the case of my F-117 I have serious downforce problems because it has angled wings at the front causing downforce, angled wings at the back on the body causing lift and nothing on the bottom to counter it. That's why the tail fins are angled out to increase downforce at the back again to even things out but overall it makes it difficult to take off. The advantage is it does increase overall flight stability. The whole process of making a plane fly with this wing problem makes it a complicated game for new users who are new to the physics and if you can't get your first plane to fly you normally give up and try a new game. I think this is why they didn't keep it in to ensure a good player base.
@LjSpike I suspect they were going to put it in but didn't due to the complication of increased drag and lift when using wing parts for shaping a planes body.
The rotator has a min and max value in the xml. Make them the same to go in one direction for either control, or set the direction you don't want it to work as 0. By default they are -1 and 1.
She's a big ship now. Looking good. The gatling gun get's caught sometimes and using yaw in the wrong direction is a sure way to sink her. Have you tried reducing the angle of the gatling gun and making the yaw rotators work in a single direction? Also the thrust nozzles aren't activating on 1 to spin the gun, you might want to replace the VTOL engine as that one is about 0.5% regular power, but the dinghy will turn into a lethal missile if released.
@DethFromAbove I'm glad I am one of the reasons you come back for more other than the ridiculously addictiveness of this game. Stick around though as we'd have lost a great builder of you don't and plus, there is a new update soon with lots of new cool parts.
@Rohan Strange. Have you told the devs about it? I hope it isn't my plane, that soesn't happen to me. You could delve into it and remove it if you need too, the real airbrakes are inside the body so no negative affects.
@LjSpike I used the 4 blocks to attach 4 wing parts which I edited in xml to angle inwards. I added 4 more wing parts to the first 4 and repositioned and again angled inwards (I think, I might have duplicated the last 4 and connected them to the same blocks). I finally adjusted the position and widths to be at the edge of each block and flush with the next wing part. My first attempt at the engine housing was to have 3 by 3 blocks so there was already 8 to attach my wings to and 1 space in the middle for an engine as seen on my full scale T-50.
@Nightraider I will have a look at the yaw, I agree it doesn't do anything for the plane, I just put it on the same as the real thing. Some innervation is needed to get it right.
Really cool.
Really nice.
@LordofLego No actual blood was skilled but at the time it was a lot of effort to make this look nice as well as fly well. Hope you like it, it's one of my favourites.
Superb. The plane is really easy to fly too which it more fun. I might have to upgrade the torso rotation speed a little though.
@traindude48 You can remove these and save as a component but the intake won't go with it because they were attached to another part of the body before I moved them. There is an attachment point on the left and right. You need a VTOL engine to run them.
I will definitely build one of these.

@Stingray Love this suggestion, I should definitely do it. I can't find a particular variant with an extending and retracting radome though.
Welcome
Too many parts but rated for making a good job of the design and because I love Stargate.
I like it
Those are some cool missiles.
@Argosh Oh yeah, that can happen sometimes. :)
This is really cool and I found it quite easy to fly too.

@Hypnoticchicken I recall a sub of that description. It used VTOL engines which were left on ground so the sub could basically drive about on the land below the surface of the water.
@Cedy117 There are rotators on this but I could have built it without them easily enough.
@JacobHardy64 No it's not a real plane, but the technology was being invented at the time so I'm sure it could have existed had the war lasted a couple more years, so let's be glad it ended when it did.
I especially like the accuracy of the cockpit.
Excellent
I love the nose too complete with nostrils too.
Love it..the side parting, the moustache, the stick out tongue. I guess this is what Dad looked like when we were young and thought he was super and could do anything...including fly.
@PlanesOfOld I had a plane in mind but a concept plane sounds better.

Can't download as I don't have the beta, but it looks spot on.
Great build. The gears can interfere with the rear stabilisers a bit if they are put up the wrong way.
Really cool. Lovely the red rails and the little purple plane at the end.

I have the 16 blade set for those rotors too in my subassemblys for use on a D13 which I never got around to finishing.

Ooo, a hover truck...With an ultra cool cockpit and working wheel.

Another beautiful recreation. I love that front end and grill, looks like an old Rolls-Royce motor car.
Really awesome coming from an SW fan

Nice paint job.
Nice work, flies really well and the yaw is perfect. Keep it up.
You're welcome. Nice build.
Nice, but a meteor smaller!! :)
