Earlier yesterday I saw a 3.1K part passion build (built with android) and found its 150 upvotes ... impressive, but sad.
It's a GAME. And you paid for it. Then you work like a horse or something for four month to get that done. It's true that Simpleplanes allow you to export models now, so not all efforts are wasted.
I too had a passion build. And for me it's ... I don't even think it had more than 10 upvotes.
So now I no longer care about upvotes. But when I release hard-working builds (months and years, although discontinuous) they had all too often end up with zero upvotes, because one or more parts of them use outdated stuff (or whatever random excuse they come up. Ask any gold guy.)
Fuselage wings ... yeah, it's cool, but I don't have the time for that. Plus it's draggy and heavy.
So you then mod it so it's dragless & massless.
Why not just ... get Autodesk 123D (the free version of the legendary Autocad)? Why not Tinkercad? Librecad?
You will me making TRUE pieces of art and mechanic. You will say goodbye to the horrendous designer interface available. Plus, you often end up being able to 3D print it.
For me, the only reason to NOT switch is because I have bought it. Although it's not my money (I got $1.5K from high school scholarship). And time -- I don't have time for big builds or extended CAD sessions.
Right now there is this same swarm of people "ruining" Simplerockets 2 before it even got itself stabilized.
It's SIMPLE PLANES, DUDE. Not "artistic planes". Although we all kind of appreciate those sophisticated ones.
(as a matter of fact, more than one people is actually using outside tool to aid the construction of their crafts. Not mods -- entirely outside tools.)
What am I looking for here?
I've always been a mostly vanilla player, though some of the Funky Trees stuff got me interested -- it's what I call "enhanced vanilla".
Four years and I still didn't see the release of a double-side "block" rotator. I still see pistons with the same wobbly connection that it had years ago. Aerodynamics is nonsense. Car engine acceleration is ridiculous. Air intake still does not take airspeed into count. Still no overheating from friction. They had added useful parts are the small rotators, the gyro, the helicopter stuff, and the cannon, but they never made any part of existing items any better than ... well, 3, 4, or 5 years ago. The only fix I noticed, is from the "new" propeller engines -- 3 years ago it will break if you try to rotate it (by a rotator) while it is spinning. That is fixed.
The game is broken, dude. They just throw more parts at it and expect it to "become better". It haven't.
@PlaneFlightX
lol nobody replied
sadness :((
well, set engine activate group to 7.
You want a speed limiter I understand.
So you will evaluate if the current speed (use GS or TAS) is greater than ... say, 100 times the input of VTOL/Trim/Throttle. If it is greater than the value then 0, if not than 1.
This would be ... well, following:
@KSPFSXandSP
lol.
Nice try but ehhh I genuinely don't think this is for "flying".
Maybe you should (or I should, if I had time) take a look at flap- wing aircrafts (that actually fly)
It behaves like toothless when it can't fly, though. That's the ... emm, good part of it.
@NightmareCorporation
I do not know what a Spitfire have to do with Initial D, but ok.
And I'm trying very hard to ignore that long poem ...
AND trying to ignore "spitfir" typos.
Oof this acceleration. I'm sure it's neither historically accurate or film-accurate, but it handles well.
And ... at this speed I'm not sure if anyone would need flaps
@zap210
lol
about the controls, though, I can't really see any other option beside stacked rotators -- it's the source, the sticks themselves that have a slow transition from input 0 to 1.
you can use "activate 1" instead, but on mobile this will bring them so many pain.
so ... maybe the stacked rotators.
Also, some interesting things about bumpers:
A person had came up with the idea of modding the input as "sin(time * 2 * Pi)" which gives a repeated vibration (it was for a clock project)
and so maybe you can use that for the bumpers on the side. just saying.
the bumper can also be actuated with a "train-like" actuation thing but ....
I'm putting together more stuff for now (because I'm on winter vacation yay), so yeah. Wait for me ...
@Minecraftpoweer
How do you know I play Terraria?
This is amazing. One note however, is that "gift from above" is launched from his back and then bombards the terrain. More like high-angle howitzers. (indirect fire)
@DPSAircraftManufacturer
A plane does not necessarily need 50% of the power to remain in flight.
For example, the Cessna can remain airborne with roughly 40% to 30% throttle (full mixture)
In some 3-engine configurations, one of the engine in the center may be stronger than the two others (like how the DC-30's tail engine is much longer)
I can be talking nonsense, so don't listen.
but I also come to know that a push-pull that flies around the globe used 46% power (210 horsepower out of 210 + 250) for the majority of the flight that took around 10 days.
@DPSAircraftManufacturer
Uh ...
if you want to.
You should actually reserve that spotlight for my complete vehicle (which is in my garage but I don't want to spoil it)
@Natedog120705
I'm saying "It's fine" because it is a good post
I say stuff in addition because there is other things beside this "fine" post
My bad if it sounds rude
One of the actual decent mechs with infinite rotor (but managing to not go back while legs are going back. waaaa?)
Yeah.
Group 1 throttle 100%, then the rotators will follow suit. Disable group 1 and set throttle tp 0. engine off. Open and close group 1 (update input on rotators). Legs go back. Disable group 1, throttle up.
@TheSarge @agnanSatrio
I think he is missing the boosters (acquired easily from Pupa)
The railgun should be longer, and feature a square end (with upper and lower rail separated)
The bulge on the cockpit (THINGY) was a tad too big, but it is a overall very good build.
@LiamW
This is one solid trophy truck.
Although, supposedly trophy trucks have slightly longer noses and boot, and feature swing arm suspension at the rear.
@INCREASEDVELOCITY
Yes I am aware of that.
Should you delete this post? Maybe. But I will leave it to others.
Should you improve more? Almost sure. I can only tell that you made it run on track mod. I mean, I have them loaded up onto my designer and took good looks. Even if you scrap all the details and call it mobile friendly that's better.
"thanks for the advice"
you are welcome.
@NirvashTec
Sherman emperor ... sure.
Nice one.
It works fine on mobile, with medium / high physic settings.
Only thing is that you need the track mod for there to be track (and not empty space)
@Destroyerz11
I'd give you a upvote just for the joke part
I still don't understand just how that will be 1,500 parts
And the rear name plate says "stool bus" ...
Highest Education. Sure.
@mikethemark
I don't know, should I upvote this one?
There is a bit too much copying from the predecessor than I'd like there to be.
I have NOT watched the movie, sorry, and so I don't know whether this will be considered a good build or not.
BUT IT LOOK GOOD, SO IT PROBABLY IS GOOD.
@Tully2001
The complete build is almost 2,000 parts (1924) parts.
Customization and ... usage of them as separate parts are a possibility ...
And, respecting the original packaging of the LEGO crane. itself.
It would make more sense to have a top part (the crane part) and the bottom vehicle part because these two can stand on their own independently.
But on the side of LEGO, it would totally make sense for there to be three independent packages (I think so, I never owned one though) for each of the three biggest parts.
It's not for farming upvotes. Perhaps I can do unlisted uploads in the future.
AND it have the tag "parts" to lessen confusion ...
@Rub3n213
Nope, it don't. Trust me on this one.
It's limited by THE GAME, not by single rotators. I think it was that if you spin quicker the game will decrease the value down so the second rotator will never spin up.
Unless you have some ingenious contraption to spin the second one too...
It wasn't a car!
Good try though.
@sarnox @8bitgamer
Well, it is because the fact that the piston engine, when having no engine starter, will spin in random directions (especially from the beginning).
I would've thought you tried some weaker engines (a 4-piston engine would do) like mine have.
@zap210
This was proven to be better a game to work with ...
interesting bumpers that ACTULALY WORK!!!
As far as exploding, I never had a single issue.
Pad was VERY slow ...
So you decided to scrap a OV-10 Bronco, put 100mm armor plates on it, and hang oversized rockets and bombs onto its side.
Expecting a 88mm high-velocity cannon (for blasting at tanks) on it? Not really.
But this thing is cool enough.
@JohnnyBoythePilot
See, World of Tanks had this new graphics engine made, and it still can run on my 6 year(turning 7 years old!) laptop (although somehow my device is having difficult cooling)
But the minimum graphics had improved, with only a tad more heat generation.
@Strikefighter04
Quite a decent build...until I realized that the size (wing versus height) wasn't as good, and that the tail was.........
Still, a good build.
@leehopard
Damn this thing is awesome!
Gyroscopic sight! Mmmm...
I loooove the track you put up. Fantastic.
I guess the engine is for...the gas turbine?
@APilotOfPlanes
You are not alone.
