@Cylinderpringles Thanks for the upvote! Your' work reminds me of someone I used to know BTW, you wouldn't happen to have played this game under the name Ccooper once upon a time, would you have? He'd also return upvotes this way. ;-)
@AudioDud3 This is a fun little bird to play with. The yawing action is a little weird but I think it's a game physics thing rather than something you did. I found it easier to turn about via rolling/leaning. lol Why no landing gear? XD
@TheOwlAce Yeah, I cannot get over the complexity of those new props and that submarine kicks absolute butt! I need to take it apart to see exactly how he got it into that nice neat fitting shape. There's also that new mod that links an engine to a rotator thingy which I thought would work well for underwater props too - maybe even airship props! lol I'm looking at using the "power eggs" on the bomber design you've been commenting on for my first airship. Those don't guzzle fuel like the radials or turboprop engines, even when coupled or tripled.
@TheOwlAce Yep, I was, but my joystick seems REALLY sensitive too. Also yaw control is via buttons, my joystick doesn't twist to give a good smooth yawing action. Okay, that sounded horrible. -_-
@TheOwlAce Ugh it cut off my post but basically speaking, even if the Potato famine had occurred, no doubt a strongly united Ireland would have possessed it's own navy and merchant fleet and likely could have traded with other strong Catholic enclaves like France, Italy, Spain and even the Americas.
@TheOwlAce Well, Germania still wouldn't exist without WW1 it would be Imperial Germany. ;-)
Poland never would have regained independence, it would have remained divided between Germany, Austria-Hungary and Imperial Russia. Even without the war the Bolsheviks would have started the revolution, however, without the profusion of disgruntled trained soldiers AND military equipment to fall into revolutionary hands its unlikely it would have succeeded. With the failure of the revolution in Russia Finland's declaration of independence would have failed and it would have remained in Imperial Russian hands.
Germany would have retained its fairly significant colonial holdings too. In fact Colonialism would have gained in strength without the influence of WW1.
The Ottoman Empire MIGHT have been able to supress the Arab Revolt and remained intact.
The Balkans would have remained a hotbed of issues all around but I think between the Ottoman Empire, the Austria-Hungarian Empire and Imperial Russia eventually the territories would have become absorbed. More likely by the latter two.
The situation would not have remained static however, American and French style Democracy would have continued to influence peoples in these Monarchist states and I am certain Communism/Socialism wouldn't have completely disappeared from discourse with the failure of the Russian Revolution. The 20s and 30s may have seen a whole rash of civil wars being waged and when weakened by internal strife - the potential for external powers attempting to make land/power grabs would rise too.
My concept on Ireland becoming a new power, is for it to be the United Kingdoms of Ireland. These would be Ulaid (in the north), Connacht (in the west), Laighin (in the southeast), Mumhan (in the south) and Mide (in the centre,) each ruled by their own King with a rotation of High Kings reigning from one of these or another through intermarriage. (This is based on Irish history prior to the English attempts at conquest.) What do you think of that idea?
You would be surprised how ONE event happening or not happening can change the outcome of the course of history. Think back in your' life, I'm sure you can find strange pivot points in your' life, minor events that actually changed the very course your' life would take. Now think about it from a national or global level. In Ireland the Normans and Irish eventually came to an understanding, formed the Union of Kingdoms and were strong enough to repel their neighbor'
@MrVaultech French seaplane magic! lmao! They had to use some of that to get some of their WW2 flying boats into the air, I swear. XD Nah, @TheOwlAce has been trying to get me to do an airship forever and a day and since I haven't figured out my next direction in construction practice I thought I'd try that out. It was that or to try to use those new rotator props introduced for ships and just build an ordinary boat! (In fact I'm adapting this from a torpedo boat design I had about 1/3 finished a year ago.)
@TheOwlAce I liked the one that you put into service recently it handles well so long as you remember not to try to roll/pitch at the same time. This one you really need to ride the yaw control and it was brilliant to utilize the air brakes for that! I couldn't get this one back to the airport though to try a landing she just kept wanting to be a self-propelled boomerang! XD
@Pilotmario I appreciate the invite, but I don't have discord. I'm still in the Skype age. Wait isn't discord a program for android or something? I don't even carry a cell phone - yes I'm a living fossil. lol
@MrVaultech Bitte! lol I know how that goes, I haven't created a turreted plane in quite a while but I'm working on a project where I'll need both turrets and casemates. I have no idea if it'll even fly yet! lol
Excellent addition! While I have both near unlimited fuel tank variants I would prefer to still carry fuel the old fashioned way for some projects. This might give jets with the 1x to 2 x power supply closer to realistic fuel consumptions. Thanks @Pilotmario
@TheOwlAce Seems you AND I have been thinking about C&C Games. XD In our Imperial Germania/Se Suomi Imperiumi game, Ireland had remained a power and was a traditional trading partner with both the Greater Kingdom of Portugal as well as Se Suomi Imperiumi, which I included in some posts but probably not tagged right. Anyway, I think a reboot on the setting might be fun with Ireland being a significant power - starting in the 20s?
@MrVaultech This bird flies very well! I had fun with it, take off and landing without a hitch except coming in once with my airspeed too low and losing a prop but it happens. lol Also managed to pick off a bridge with its internal bombload on my first flight! Not bad! Was a little disappointed the turrets didn't work but ah well, fun none the less!! Great history lesson too, by the way!!
@Pilotmario 14 factions with 6-8 being active? That's not too bad, a lot better than the forty or fifty in that second C&C game I was in. (I think about a baker's dozen were consistently active, most representing the US, Canada and Nazi Germany.) Build quality was an area I think I did pretty well in on the second C&C game although I think there were a couple of lemons. My jets in the first C&C game had REALLY short flight durations and were pretty generic. Do you know if there are modded jet engines that take up less fuel? I think the fuel consumption for some of the jet engines in the game are a bit off - especially the turbojets.
@TheOwlAce Yes, definitely! I've been toying with a few design ideas, contemplating a new C&C Game and even did up a map of Europe showing the nations in your' setting/timeline. Though if we go another round I think it would be best to have a third-party moderator and expand to include diplomacy, pressures from surrounding nations and work out what nations have traditionally allied with this one or that one and which ones have formed temporary alliances in the past. We also need to work up a little more history regarding the history of conflicts in your' timeline's 20th century.
I know you wouldn't be interested in starting over completely fresh and begin building for a nation other than Germania in a different timeline already. ;-)
@Pilotmario See, that's a better way to run it I think. How many participating parties do you have in the C&C game and how is the moderator at taking each party into account?
@Pilotmario Ah, I see! I'm not entirely sure what all that would entail. I've been in two so-called RPs. Neither ending left a particularly good taste in my mouth as the narrator behind both disregarded comments regarding diplomacy, took into account planned tactical maneuvers, strategic endeavors. One ended abruptly, with an extreme one-sided bias without any cross exchange. The other ended when my tactical strategies and impending strategic plans were completely rendered moot when the narrator threw out the rule concerning no atomic weaponry with the bizarre and obviously biased position towards the enemy that an atomic weapon could only be delivered if launched from a base within 100 miles of the territory of the targeted nation to achieve a win/capitulation. (Their side was primarily engaging ours in a tactical capacity and while we were meeting them in kind we were developing strategic capabilities that with some creativity/imagination could have reached out and put the hurt on the enemy's homeland.) Thus I tapped out.
@TheOwlAce No clue whatsoever, I stopped trying to understand it. Speaking of your' airships do you suppose quadcopter style/gyroscope aid might give them a new "vision" of control? I'm tempted to try it for giggles. lol
ZOMG! You have definitely improved by leaps and bounds since I was here last, this was my second fav flying wing, behind a heavily modded Horton. Loved her handling characteristics - just don't try to bank while putting the stick into a climb or dive at the same time. I ALMOST recovered the one spin I encountered by deactivating one set of engines but didn't flip the other one on fast enough. lol Great job man, this one is brilliant!
@TheOwlAce I wonder if the zero collisions xml alteration would stop that issue? I've got my new mouse finally and ... -gasp- ... a joystick! lol I also had to replace my keyboard as all the typing and controlling of aircraft wore off half of my keys and some were not working properly anymore. Amazon Basics to the rescue! Now that I'm geared up I dunno what to build! lol
@TheOwlAce Ah cool! I see other differences here too, such as the ventral gondola being split into two parts, very nice work! I rather wish someone would do a mod to put a few merchant vessels at sea for target practice. The forward gondola just reminded me of the "Scourge of the Atlantic" herself, the Fw-200 Condor. ^_~
@TheOwlAce Egad, that's not good my friend! Provided you aren't allergic, peanut butter, bread and the classic bricks of ramen noodles are a bachelor's best friend when low on cash. Boiled cabbage and potatoes, drained, with margerine, salt and pepper to taste stretches a long way too for roughage. On a bit of a shoestring buget myself as my monthly income dropped by nearly a grand a year ago. Had to cut our cell service out entirely. Seriously considering looking into a two bedroom house or apartment in the summer if we can save some $$$ on it.
If I knew more about the job market where you are I might have useful advice, alas, I've not the faintest clue. A good fall back for me has often been customer service or telemarketing.
Merchandising is another area you might look into if you've got a car, license and can manage your' own schedule. (Many corporations like to keep an eye on how their products are displayed at the point of sale.) Depending on the company the pay isn't bad, they'll pay mileage over a certain distance driven and might even spring for motel/food expenses if on the road. (Several years ago Acosta used to provide company cars, pay for gas, maintenance, etc.)
Oh yes, I've noticed the new stuff, looking foward to trying some of them out! I remember you wanted me to try basing an airship on the predecessor to this build but I literally couldn't get her off of the water due to the belly drag. lol It never completely left my mind as to how to make it work. I considered vertical take off via xml editing the weight values. I considered removing the belly gun position and replacing it with a casemate on each side. Then like I said I have had a serious urge to build more seaplanes. I have one in my workshop now that I was working on before I got wrapped up in worrying about the country. (I still am, though less anxious.) She's a real doll though I'm really tempted to turn her into an amphibian. Your' "recent" floatplanes have not escaped my notice either, those are always fun to fly. It'll be a new experience now that I have a joystick. However before I really get back to building anything else new I'm waiting on an Amazon order of a new mouse. I wore the darned left button out between keeping watch on the news and prior to that - building. (Takes 4 clicks for the darned thing to register!)
I've a LOT of old designs to refurbish as well with new skills and building styles. ^_~ What's that 120 mm mod like?
@Pilotmario Thanks! Still waiting on a new mouse before I'm really back - the left button only registers about one out of four clicks and so would make building or camera angles a nightmare! lol
I thought we fixed that issue with the random exploding number three engine? If I remember right it was a problem with the landing gear wasn't it? The Fw-410, one of my favorites among your' builds, and inspired my most recent bomber design. XD What are the new underwing fairings, radiators?
@TheOwlAce Yeah, sorry about that! Just too much going on in real life to give a lot of consideration to the game. I've had lots of ideas cross my mind since I was last here though. I saw your' invite to join a seaplane contest just now and had to laugh because a few days ago I had an urge to build some Do-18/24/26 lookalike designs. My mouse is on the fritz though so I doubt I'll be back on soon. Once I get to cranking designs out I probably won't disappear as often. lol
Wow, you managed to tag one of my little-known WW2 warbird types~ The Germans discovered in the Spanish Civil War that it's construction composed largely of something -I THINK- was nicknamed Electronium made the metal of this aircraft actually BURN when shot up. (High magnesium content, if I remember correctly.) However this didn't stop the Hungarians from taking a later radial engine version called, by some sources the He-70K and others He-170, into the jaws of World War II. This version was still used around Germany as a light civil transport and for light cargo duties for a good portion of the war. Neat to see you working on real life designs from time to time nowadays! I am guessing a lot has happened during my month absence?
@Stampede I can't say as I have yet, but I have a jet stream of over 400 planes to look through once I'm done with my notifications. I took a bit over a month off of the game. lol
@VladCelTroll Thanks for the upvote! I'm sure I could pop out some oddball jet designs! Although I'm not sure when. I took a bit over a month break from the game, unannounced, and now have a pile of new stuff I fill a lot of my time with. ^_^
@SledDriver You sir, are a mod master! How do you silence engines like this? Handles awesome, landing gear ... who needs it?! lol
@Cylinderpringles Thanks for the upvote! Your' work reminds me of someone I used to know BTW, you wouldn't happen to have played this game under the name Ccooper once upon a time, would you have? He'd also return upvotes this way. ;-)

@TheOwlAce Nope, I have this game and Mabinogi - and I haven't touched the latter in longer than the last plane design I introduced. lol

Very interesting, great attention to detail on this tank chassis. I'll have to give it an experiment down the line! Have you built a hull on it yet?
@MrVaultech French seaplane magic! lmao! They had to use some of that to get some of their WW2 flying boats into the air, I swear. @Pilotmario C&C? Command & Control? O.o
@Pilotmario Glad to be back, its been quite a while, I've just been busy with other stuff. Are you still doing SP's role-plays?
@TheOwlAce lol Alright, I'll be watching!
Great design!! Though I think our new update added a few glitches, at 90k ft plus, I managed to reach 3k mph after I'd jettisoned my cargo! O_O
@Pilotmario Great use of the new Gyroscope! I finally successfully landed a helicopter! lol
@TheOwlAce No clue whatsoever, I stopped trying to understand it. Speaking of your' airships do you suppose quadcopter style/gyroscope aid might give them a new "vision" of control? I'm tempted to try it for giggles. lol
@TheOwlAce Yep, which itself looks kinda like it's a near steampunk vision of the Savoia-Marchetti S.55X! lol

How could I forget? It reminded me of a high tech S.55X when I first saw her. lol
@TheOwlAce Yes, it sorta reminds me of the camo the Fins used in our RP!
@TheOwlAce I wonder if the zero collisions xml alteration would stop that issue? @TheOwlAce Hey, how's it going? Your' design frequency has slowed down a bit since I've been AWOL. What's new in your' world?
Wow, we're manufacturing whirly-birds and didn't even know it! XD j/k
@Mumpsy That would be a neat project though I'm terrible with VTOL designs so don't look at me! lol

@birdsofsteel lol It would, like the world has gone straight mad hatter mad!
