To anyone testing out this design, if you are able to pull of a post-stall maneuver, if you could please let me know. I was able to do it on my tests, but it would be cool to see if someone else is able to do it too. Thanks,
@Tabris anytime for an old friend, we've been working together for over two years now, so I had to go big. I wanted to keep this one to the same dimensions as your original. Same delta design and cockpit placement, minus the notch in the middle for looking around. It's designed for space so you need trust to assist in Yaw, Pitch and Roll. The real fun is when you active group three and watch the weapons deploy from the cockpit view. I kept the weapons, lights, exhaust, and flight characteristic from the original.
@spefyjerbf thank you for your upvote, and your post. I think you're the best in the community when it comes to futuristic concepts so I appreciate the critique. It's also good to see a fellow Elite Dangerous player here.
@GijsStruik Thanks, I wanted to make it fast to test my original design at high speeds, but I had to use the smallest engines so it could swivel. I like using the small engines, but their normal output is bad.
@MrShenanigans to be honest, I'm not sure. It's based on a concept I scraped awhile ago, so it's nice just to see it flying. Maybe 5.5 gen til I perfect the design.
@Griffon1Crosswind Same could be done with those folding wings. No criticism here, your build is good, now you can use a little XML magic to get to gold in no time.
@Griffon1Crosswind It's a little crazy in AG8, but once go into normal flight, it handles better than most tail less designs I've seen. On your next build, try these commands for something like that cockpit so you don't need to use the VTOL slider.
In Overload:
Activation Group: "5"
Input: "Activate5"
No one ever told me that, but @EternalDarkness made a handy cheat sheet on XML. It can be a little confusing at first, but once you get the hang of it, you can build some unique aircraft.
Cool, now if your on a mobile device, you need to attach it to a cockpit, simply drag it to the cockpit provided while your in the designer. The fire button should appear in the bottom right hand corner when you hit the play button. If your on computer, it's not as picky and you can just hit the space key.
@Luketrain6 If your on a mobile device, hit the little white arrow towards the bottom of the screen and tap on 7, and if your on a computer, simply hit the 7 button. Hopefully that helps.
Thanks, this one is a lot easier to fly too, no more playing with the VTOL and Trim levers. I'm adding the rail guns as a separate component too in case anyone wants to use it.
Thanks, that's what happens when you work on the same plane a year. If the controls are a little crazy, I'm actually releasing another update tomorrow that are a lot simpler, I just posted this one by accident.
@Tabris Definitely, It'd be cool to see what you've been working on. You should upload them too. A little publicity never hurts, especially in this community.
@PlanariaLab no worries, it's just a joke. It's basically me parking far away from the turret and watching what it does. Kind of like a Safari tour, except instead of animals I'm watching the turret. Speaking of which the turret is very effective, thank you. If anything it gives me a better idea of how the AI thinks. I'm starting to think it has nothing to do with altitude though. I put the turret 2000 ft up on a stick, which is where the AI should have no issues, but same no change in overall effectiveness. It may be speed.
Well, I guess I was mistaken. Hate to say I don't know my own tank, but your right, I'll have to edit that, thank for the catch. I'm also working on another tank so I probably those the stats from there.
Yes, I'm aware there are RTS systems, but the designer at some point was bugging up. I think I hit the space limit as far as how big you can make something.
Second patch out for this thing, just a little fine tuning. Usually my dog fighters will get some periodic updates. So if you actually like flying this thing, just stop by every once in a while. This update keeps the lift under control at higher speeds making it easier to aim.
Definitely, no worries, and anything I manage to build with it, I'll definitely give you credit, and not to worry about perfect. I'm guessing the question if AI turrets is almost as old as simple planes, no one has it down yet from what I'm seeing.
@PlanariaLab Yes please, thanks. I've been basically playing Maywar Safari simulator 2020, literally parking myself away from a turret, and waiting for it to do something (the most fun I ever had playing simple planes, and I mean that with sarcasm of course). It killed only one plane with an AA gun, but most of the time it was trying to pull up. I think the issue is a turret spawned is fully capable to tracking and chasing targets, but at lower altitudes it priority in it's programming is to automatically start pulling up because it's still thinks it's an airplane. I think if someone can figure out how to get the AI to think it's at a higher altitude, then auto turrets should be possible. Just a theory, I have no idea how to mod, or program, so I'm not sure if it's even possible.
@JDog3106 If it helps you out, I've been testing the old model on the Maywar Sand Dunes Take Off Site, but yeah, Bandit Airport is a no go. Even at a 1/3rd scale model there's not many places it'll fit.
Oh geez, building the newest version. Hang on lil' computer, this is going to be fun one. Wondering if anyone has any ideas on making a turret auto aim?
And that's it, all variations to my T-3 Motor Carriage. This was my first tank series. I got others I'm planning, think of it as World of Tanks without the toxic community, XP grinding, or unforgiving tech tree. As with time, the tanks will only get bigger.
I noticed a minor issue with one of it's wings, really just the paint job. I want the community to enjoy the best quality, so think of it as an "Out of Early Access" patch. I also added missiles just in case no one noticed the available pylons. If it's one thing I learned at an early age, you always need to construct addition pylons. Remove them is you don't need them, this thing has 5 already in it's bays. I'll post the link in the description.
Looks good, she struggles a little bit in the turns, which is okay since the speed is an advantage. On my tests, I increased the front canards from 15 to 25 degrees no issues, so a little tuning can make this a solid dog fighter. Definitely a good design, you probably can cram a cockpit in there. You may have to redesign a few things, but compact designs in my opinion are always the best. High marks on the color scheme.
@AccilianMilitaryAircraft I can definitely vouch for that. I have a tail less design I'm building which relies on drag to fly. It didn't take me long to realize custom gear makes way more drag.
@Mastermind1941 well, a low polygon tank target isn't the most exciting thing I've ever posted, but it's a good chance to add a little humor. Plus I think people can sometimes take this game too seriously.
@WarshipDude the joys of being a scout tank. The T-3 tanks I'll be releasing are mainly light tanks. I'm working on a bigger tank class, but this is my ode' to Hellcat.
@Tabris and accepted
@Tabris #9079
@Tabris yeah, same name on discord, EchoWhiskey11. I can also look you up too.
@Tabris I can't blame you, the community has changed a lot.
@Tabris thanks man, got anything in the work?
To anyone testing out this design, if you are able to pull of a post-stall maneuver, if you could please let me know. I was able to do it on my tests, but it would be cool to see if someone else is able to do it too. Thanks,
@ALRX thanks for the feedback on the flight.
Definitely, it's the same as my SP name @EchoWhiskey11 #9070.

+1Here goes me upvoting something from almost 5 years ago. But I can definitely respect a good effort.
+1@GijsStruik like your Yak fighter by the way. That silhouette is unmistakable. It's never fun taking on one in any online flyer.
@GijsStruik Thanks, I wanted to make it fast to test my original design at high speeds, but I had to use the smallest engines so it could swivel. I like using the small engines, but their normal output is bad.
@Tabris Good to see you too, and Happy New year.

Let's see here, VTOL low observable design. I may be a little biased, but that's a win in my books.
+1@Tabris No worries, in that case the Pounder update patch will get the change. I'm adding these newer controls to the Pounder as well.
@Tabris hope all is well, what's up?
No worries, happy to help

@Luketrain6 It's a secondary weapon, so if it pops out of the box, you know it's armed
@Luketrain6 Try Action Group 7

Next upgrade out in patch 3, added eject seats. It'll also be feature in my new fighter as well. Link will be under patch notes.

@PlanariaLab Awesome, thanks, I'll thinker around with it and I'll let you know what I find out. Back to Maywar Safari Simulator 2020.

@ThomasRoderick yes, low velocity 800 mps

@WarshipDude sounds good, you can spawn a pretty healthy amount of these things too without slowing the game down too much, good hunting.
Maybe it might be time for a part two to this challenge?
@JDog3106 I set up in Mywar (of course), but I had to make a unique location. It's not a small build, but I'm working on more computer friendly.
