@Ultra0 referring to your old, and rather insulting and self-centered comment. The higher levels (including myself) are pissed that our work is being overshadowed by this sh·tbox. While I do agree that it is a good little plane, it is getting out of hand. There's a name for the phenomenon occuring; Bandwagoning. People are upvoting this hot, fresh, steaming pile of sh·t just because it's a meme. We aren't egotistical, just upset that this is what this once-glorious community has devolved into: a bunch of 9 year olds who think "haha upvote go boop."
Rant over, call me a Chad if you want.
@Majakalona It's a very big factor. the F/A-44 took almost a year of tuning, only to get barely any attention.
The F-71 was turned into two meme aircraft that got 20 upvotes and over 700 downloads combined, while my original aircraft got 6 upvotes and about 160 downloads.
The website seems to value countless
replicas and meme posts over anything else, and it leaves builders such as myself who spend countless hours on a project, only to get a third as much attention as a post that only gains popularity for its flashy thumbnail, meme status,
and/or it's lack of effort. Many spring to mind, none of which will be named.
Another example of disappointing ROI here is my T5, T5B and T6, I think... 90 ish downloads combined and 10 upvotes for a weeks worth of work? It's just, frankly, not worth the time or effort anymore, just to get buried underneath yet another meme.
I used to see this as a hobby, but now it just feels like shooting at the moon and expecting it to shoot back
.
@BeeEngineer I'd say mandate a removal of missiles. How will it be fair if nobody is allowed countermeasures or missiles but the few people that threw Sidewinders on before the rule change can keep aforementioned sidewinders.
A few issues:
First Air to Air missile in service was the Aim-4 Falcon in 1956
No jet fighter using machine guns had less than 6 guns. Try shooting down a target going 600mph with 4 .50 cals, ain't gonna happen.
The aircraft Rotary Cannon was around as early as 1946, albeit in quite primitive form.
Countermeasures were deployed by the RAF as early as 1941.
F-94 Starfire had afterburning engines when it was introduced In 1950
@SkyJayTheFirst ngl the Crowhawk is sexy. It's also super fun to fly. Something I've noticed as well is that with the proper throttle control, you can hover vertically like a hand-stand. Super fun and super cool plane.
@Farewellntchii just you. Also, some flaps during that period served a dual purpose. Or, in the case of the Argentavis; The front wings are so far forward that the flaps act like airbrakes if deployed down, and normal flaps if deployed upward. Kinda like a Helldiver but fully-realised.
@Farewellntchii flaps aren't meant to be used at high speeds, and the ones on this airframe are intentionally an odd shape to discourage use at speeds in excess of 270mph, as any real life WW2 aircraft. The landing gear wouldn't operate correctly without closing by default. Ty for the compliment tho m8 :)
@Farewellntchii partially Correct. For example the P-61 was big asf but still went 400mph, but it couldn't turn for sh't. On the contrary, the P51 was comparatively small, went just over 430mph, and had one of the best turn rates of the war.
@WolfHunter9111 tbh most Platinum players gained their points and reputation years ago, when their builds were top of the game. But now, we have Bronze users building things that look nearly as good as a Rambojutter plane.
hfu: has most upvoted plane in history
+6Also hfu: not the highest builder
you have defied the geneva convention

@jamesPLANESii well aware of that however there is two entire sections of the forums dedicated to worldbuilding nations in SP.

+1@Timothy19452022 F-35 Eagle? NTSB investigating a military incident, when it should be NCIS?
+1@FOXG tailless aircraft. The wings don't last the length of the main body thus it is not a flying wing
