@nathanmikeska - everything seems great so far, except that you guys have done something and change the property of wings or their attach points. I can no longer rotate a wing that is attached to a wing (so it become a vertical stabilizer), then attach another wing (so it becomes a horizontal stbilizer. Everytime I rotate the wing piece then click on another part of the plane or hit play, the game registers it as not part of the plane, it goes grey
@SpiritusRaptor This design is similar to the one I have. I also noticed that you realized its all about acceleration and ability to complete the course 100% no matter what.
FYI you get less drag with a nose cone that has either 0.5 height/width and 0 height/width. get it down to 120-123 drag points.
If you get to actually see your rocket/plane explode then you haven't reached the max and that is a design fault.
When Simpleplanes goes crazy and the height and speed jumps to ridiculous figures like -10,0000,5858 to 37,0000,03838 and then SimplePlanes crashes and you get .exe errors, you have reached the real kill boundary.
@TheRemesy all i did was use the tools available. Look at this plane like a benchmark. You either match it or beat in build ability and/or pilot skill.
DRAG has the most impact out of everything in the game.
The lower your drag the faster your straight line speed will be. Just to remind everyone drag is caculated live, so whatever part of your plane is moving forward that part will be experiencing drag.
You can put 50 blasto120's engines behind a wall that is 20x20 blocks and it will still fly slower than a plane with just one blasto j50 that has low drag.
This is the only plane of its kind. They said it
was too dangerous to fly. It was gathering dust in a warehouse.
...
Only take offs and landings give me some difficulty. Once it gets up
speed the wings have enough lift. [pointing to the drawing] Give me 0.5 degrees more incidence.

@Lucasmah I'm rebuilding it after updating unity and things went weird. So it won't be ready until I get a few days off work to sit down and tinker properly.
Let me tell you why these types of videos work best.
The average player builds their design, they know how it works, how it plays etc... but they want to see other people playing with their designs etc... to appreciate their hard work, to have as much fun messing around as they imagine someone else will have.
Soooo yeh pretty much, show cases and best builds videos will get you the most bang for your buck. Keep it up!
No, violence always comes from the individual. IT IS A CHOICE. There were no weapons at the start. I don't think the devs even intended to add weapons. However the users started designing their own weapons using the tools they were given and constant requests for official weapons, the devs added them.
In the real world on real aircraft whenever they yaw they roll. The pilot (or computer) counters this during the maneuver. Either roll in opposite direction or depending on your design put some inverted yaw control surfaces on your horizontal wings. As for the size of the control surface, in simple planes smaller/thinner is better. The only way to be sure is to test flight your design and make small adjustments.
@XVIindustries @Skua Yes, because I always look to the original masters of the sky, which are birds. Most birds can pretty much take-off vertically with only a small number needing a running start. The pinnacle of aircraft design will be when we can design and build aircraft that are capable of maneuvering like the Goshawk
This is a really cool concept. Stable during VTOL, however the transition to forward flight occasionally causes the plane to flip. This can be solved by tying the rotators that swing the wings to an activator.
@WalrusAircraft I tried to mirror lego man and the arm will drop off and it doesn't attach back on, even when mirroring the parts idividually. Still a cool design.
@WalrusAircraft I cannot test it now but I was talking about using the mirror function from the main menu. Just wanted to kit lego man out with a hover board or something similar but if a design cannot be mirrored without its parts getting all messed up I won't work on it, since it requires waaaaaay too much effort. This is simpleplanes after all.
This is actually a good idea, because as of right now I can't really be bothered to scroll through certain users pages, to find something that appeals to me. although the Tags do help with the spammage.
It is not a bug it is a feature. It is to stop players from doing the detacher thingy with vtol engines. Also you are allowed to edit the plane before trying the SAM challenge so there really is no issue here.

This is a repost - 99.99% Consistancy, Except on the few barrel roll and exlode on bridge occasions - KK-FF-UAP X.
This is the KK-FF-UAP X, what the Mini Storm was based on.
@BRuthless Shhh don't tell anyone
@Thefalloutplayr The plane in the screenshot is different to the one in the link

@SpiritusRaptor my bad, don't use a nose cone, just a regular fuselage block.

Nassassin's Trebuchet
@Thefalloutplayr it was 2 secs faster than you :-)
@FireHawk96 @jheffernan @SteadfastContracting Provide me with a link to the plane you used and if it checks out the upvotes shall flow forth.

@Seeras the zipee is more than a month old... there is a shiny faster version now... soon
yeh, ive been looking into making a compartment part that you can put stuff in and then press an activatr and it slides open and comes out. @BRuthless
@TheRemesy all i did was use the tools available. Look at this plane like a benchmark. You either match it or beat in build ability and/or pilot skill.
this design is something ive been wanting to build but there are not enough parts. I want to add te hidden boosters that come out for extra speed :)
@BRuthless for screen capture use OBS
Soe incredible piloting skills. Taking planes right to the edge. I like that
As of now this is the plane to beat ZIpee
also @AndrewGarrison would this be ok for entry, the engines power has not been touched
First Sky Cup Winner Pending
Im ready for the games to begin!
Simply Awesome and Amazing.
How did you make rotators keep going?
Still getting the hang of this steamworkshop thingy - Krazy Wurld Mod
have u uploaded it?

@dsr1aviation Try them out let me know if it works for you

@HellFireKoder Its a step in the right direction :-) still looks cool
Its on the to do list for Krazy Wurld
Try this one out KK-FF-UAP IXits still being worked on but its really good if I say so myself.
Krazy Parts Mod
Krazy Parts mod it uses hardly any fuel, like 10 gallons and 2 bfe120's you're still flying for alot of mins, however they are krAzY powerfull
Cool. There are areas on my KRazy Wurld map that are specifically designed just for this purpose.
@HellFireKoder you need som1 to photoshop that dragon spitting out lines off code on fire
@BoxGlow Heheheh... if you got Rick as a TAG u gotta have Batman too, plus this build is still so much awesome.

@FredDeaneBritishReplicasCo There is no rush to build them, I prefer quality over speed and qauntity
@XVIindustries I wouldn't know if I've seen a Hen harrier in real life although I know I've seen Red Kites.
Where is the slow motion ??????

@WalrusAircraft Is this design capable of being mirrored without the parts spazing out?
@towhgdk Whoa! that plane is unstable @SalemASaberhagen Thanks for the link.
