Im working on another AF-09 remaster since its like a favorite child to me
Update: I found out how to do it without crashing but it involves babysitting the throttles and that's not very entertaining to watch.
If only we had a replay tool.
@Rocketguy2079 And I mean manual transmissions are finicky to get working in SP, especially in a way that is comfortable to use. The build I stole the code from used the VTOL slider as the shifter but I was having issues up and downshifting appropriately
@SteamPunkPilot
posted as requested. feel free to pick it apart and if you manage to make sense of it and improve the coding and such, I'd love to see the result of it
Apologies for the earlier post, I wasn't sure if that version had the correct audio.
Regardless, this is a demonstration of my T-180 chassis and what it can do.
This vehicle uses that exact chassis just with an actual body, so that chassis performs effectively the same.
The body is question is car #84, sponsored by Ascendancy Cybernetics LLC.
The chassis can be found here
I've actually coded an automatic transmission.
I borrowed some code from a manual transmission and modified it to shift at certain rpms.
It's rough, but it works.
The manual transmission also had editable gear ratios in the variables so that was kinda cool
I havent uploaded it yet, but I'd be willing to if you'd like to take a look.
Long story short, the Federal Republic of Accilian States, Republic of Accilia, or most often just Accilia, is a global power located on a not-strangereal where their whole thing is to build the coolest, most advanced airplanes. As a result their air force is very strong but the other branches are relatively weak.
The Accilian Air Force operates the AF-03, -04, -06, and -09 through 13 models built by Phoenix Industries.
Their roundel is a white triangle with a black outline, with a smaller, purple (hex value #340079) triangle in the center.
Although I havent really added anything to Accilia's lore in a while, that's the country.
Like, text?
I had to have a separate variable for the alternating pattern:
round(.5(sin(Time180))+.5) this should blink evenly every so often.
Then I just put the output of that variable as a conditional statement, like this:
(Ill call the above function "Function1", you'd have to change that if you name the function differently)
{Function1=1?"insert text here":" "}
the contents in the function should blink evenly without the need for a piston.
@Dragoranos the -09 is very fast, but turns like a brick, while the -03 is a full blown 5th generation fighter (which has been buffed since release on the site)
I dunno theres only one way to find out
I think you'd have to just ask for specific names in a function, like the following
SelectedWeaponName=(name 1)?1:SelectedWeaponName=(name 2)?2:... (etc.)
If theres a way around this I'd love to hear it but its the only way I know.
@DatRoadTrainGuy19 Unfortunately not really, Iv only built this plane and one other and Ive already posted both. I just figured I'd post them because why not
I dunno. If I end up building more planes Ill build em but I wouldnt count on it
And that's it. These are the only planes I was able to make in the span of six months.
Ok that's a lie I have the AF-14 but that is very unrefined. Given how long these take to make I don't think I'll come out with something for another while.
The below information is the method I use but there is ONE THING
Make sure mass of the missile part itself is not zero, as that would make it have some very strange behavior.
A simple answer would be to add thrust vectoring, but in order to do that you'd need to build your own nozzle and that might take some time.
But it should give a little bit of extra edge to your turning abilities and greatly help with your low speed handling. That and bring it down to low speed, hit the AB and which it do an Ace Combat flip!
IN THEORY, BUT IN THEORY ONLY
You could just write an empty XML file with proper formatting and if done right should theoretically work. But do not try to do this it would be long, painstaking, and there is no visualization, as you will only be working with text
But unfortunately there is no real other way to build planes for free.
Fortunately though SP is available on Mac for the regular price, or for about 6 bucks on a phone, which provides most of the same functionality.
I am a simple man. I see Kingcobra, I upvote.
My thoughts and prayers for those effected by this incident
+2no PLSL for the SP weapon?
+2sorry bout the letter vomit title
@Hii yeah I dont think I ever mentioned Griffon 3 as a character untill now, and Griffon 1 (character) is canonically dead
+1arent those F-14 intakes?
The wonders of individual throttle control

+1@SpartanSR91 I mean it's slower than your model, but my goal is to make it easy to approach
@DatRoadTrainGuy19
+1Rice is nice

@Dragoranos I dont think this is realistic in the slightest

a few laps around the oval office with added music from the Speed Racer video game
Update: I have a working controlable mock up of the idea. it could use some slight improvement but it is functional
I will also take this opportunity to point out how awesome the tie-in video game for that movie is.

<< Caution, a large aircraft is approaching... >>
Better than mine
damn in my carelessness I almost spoiled the entire episode
Hella cool build, I havent seen the Mammoth Car in any media in a long time.

@beenz I guess, since I didnt specify that. not gonna guarantee walking away without a head injury though lmao
+1Before we start the ride, please keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times
+5nice to meet you I hope you enjoy your stay
+399% of my creations are original so I just go with whatever feels right
I guess this did make for a good side show
+2username checks out
+2Mostly Ace Combat, Metal Gear Rising, or Mega Man X-X4 soundtrack
but more often than not it depends on the build
@MobileGamer21 oh wow I havent seen this post in more than a year
But I used to play the Streamliner with maxed out projectiles.
so precious I just wish the engine had more kick
+3I thought I was the only one here who played Mindustry (not very good at it though)

True

when the the COFFIN
+1Try looking at the Ace Combat game series for inspiration. There's especially some weird ones from AC3 that could get the creative juices pumping
