Do you think this thing would be significantly more stable with three rotor blades? I’m not all that great a pilot but I’m having a bit of a hard time with this one... also, if I scale this entire assembly up using fine tuner, will it still function the same?
Thank you :) that really makes me feel good. But honestly, I really don’t have a life. I have a disability that makes leaving the house a difficulty, and having a job is pretty much out of the question (hopefully not forever). So lately I’ve just been spending hours upon hours building planes. Hopefully that will make it seem more reasonable that my output has been what it’s been haha. @XjayIndustrys
Thank you for building this! I will try to do it justice hahaha. By the way, out of curiosity; what is the point of the “activate8” hinge rotator at the base of the rotor? @Leehopard @shipster
Well it’s my understanding that “Le petit mort” means... something specific. So the joke is that this plane is orgasmic (haha) but also it’s quite big. @WarHawk95
I’m interested in seeing what @DerekSP comes up with, cause the pitch rate is pretty slow... but this thing has great potential, and it looks absolutely fantastic! Very creative and original. I’m impressed! @zoomzoomzoom
You’re the best! Thank you :) you’re a much more advanced builder than I am, but please let me know if there’s any way I can return the favor. @Leehopard
Actually, come to think of it... I don’t know if I have the knowledge to be able to give you meaningful specs... I thought I’d build the shape, weight, and scale of the craft around the rotor assembly. Do you have a set of standard-ish dimensions that you would use if you were building your own small/ultralight heli? :/ @Leehopard
The flight characteristics are too sensitive for my piloting skills... but it looks absolutely fantastic! Love that engine exhaust too. Surprisingly satisfying to land as well :)
@Leehopard hey man, I am tagging you here because I wanted to tell you that I am extremely impressed by and love your rotorcraft and helikits! This one is something I made quite a while ago, and I feel that my building skills have increased a lot since then. I feel I am ready to build my own heli but I am still not skilled enough to build a functioning rotor assembly with swashplate, cyclic/collective etc. I want to build a tiny/ultralight heli, so I wanted to ask you; do you have any 2-blade single rotor helikits? Thank you and keep up the amazing work!!
Looks good man! If you’re looking for feedback: one big thing is that take off is difficult. I would suggest adding flaps, and also moving the main landing gear forward, toward the CoM. Those two things will make it easier to get off the ground. You’ll have to change the landing gear so that it folds toward the tail rather than toward the nose (nice custom landing gear btw!). And finally, you might want to add a pitch trim function. Other than that, it looks cool and flies great! Also, for next time, you might want to tag me/whoever else in the comments section of your post, that’ll make it easier for me to get to it and I think the mods like it better that way... nice plane man, good work! @KerlonceauxIndustries
Exactly! You are the first to guess that part! The other part is that it’s based on a Blériot aircraft, which sounds like blurry eyes sorta. Good job! @JelloAircraftCorporation
Yeah for sure. Different kind of flying. Forces you to pay much closer attention to your inputs. I rather like it. Except on rotorcraft. Only 4ch+ for me when it comes to helis haha. With helis it’s just limiting and takes away most of what sets helis apart from fixed wing. Man I miss r/c haha. @LiamW
Hahaha that wasn’t exactly what I had in mind but those reasons are much better and more hilarious than mine so have an upvote. And that’s a yes on the Blériot of course. @ACMECo1940
Back when I was playing SP before I made an account, I made a plane that I called manta ray, and it too had a shape reminiscent of the animal. Except mine flew like a brick and looked like a... brick compared to this one! Great job man.
I’m from the U.S. You? @XjayIndustrys

Thanks man! I have to say, I’ve been putting an unreasonable number of hours into it... @XjayIndustrys
:) thank you very much!! @Trainzo
Well it’s my understanding that “Le petit mort” means... something specific. So the joke is that this plane is orgasmic (haha) but also it’s quite big. @WarHawk95
Does the joke work/make sense about calling it Le Grand Mort? @WarHawk95
Haha well that’s good! Gotta love those historical French planes :) @WarHawk95
This thing is awesome! That is just about the coolest suspension setup I’ve seen on SP
Ahhh. Now I see why you asked if I was French. I hope you weren’t offended by the name of my last plane :/
Haha. Nope, not at all, but I can definitely see why you’d think that :) @WarHawk95
Yeah, that’s a good idea. I should really learn how to do that haha. @ThePilotDude
Thank you man, that really means a lot. Maybe I didn’t take very good photos...? Haha @ThePilotDude
Oh haha word. Might be first and last haha. @XjayIndustrys
1st what? @XjayIndustrys

Thanks! :) @aircraftarsenal123
Haha well I guess it is pretty big... thank you :) @XjayIndustrys
Oops I forgot. Thank you! @EternalDarkness

Ah, okay, cool! Well thank you so much, I’ll get back to you on those specs. @Leehopard
The flight characteristics are too sensitive for my piloting skills... but it looks absolutely fantastic! Love that engine exhaust too. Surprisingly satisfying to land as well :)
Really incredible build. The detail is unbelievable! Especially the interior. Really amazing work!
Thank you! :) @Chancey21

Nice sailplane! Looks great, smooth flying, good work!

This plane is truly an iconic SimplePlanes build.
Agreed. This thing is really creative and really well executed. Excellent job. @CrazyCatZe @ThePilotDude
I can’t run this build on my machine but I really wish I could because it is magnificent. Really exceptional work.
Haha yeah. I guess it wasn’t quite as obvious as I thought haha. @JelloAircraftCorporation
Exactly! You are the first to guess that part! The other part is that it’s based on a Blériot aircraft, which sounds like blurry eyes sorta. Good job! @JelloAircraftCorporation
Ok so you’re saying the part count looks accurate? It doesn’t look like any parts have been doubled in mirroring? Thank you btw :) @AdlerSteiner
thanks man!!! How many points is gold? :/ hahah @XjayIndustrys
Gotcha. No worries man! @LiamW

You gotta give me both reasons haha @aplayer
Haha! Thank you :) @WarHawk95
Sweet, thank you! I’ll definitely keep that in mind :) @XjayIndustrys
:) @XjayIndustrys
I’d love to check it out! @Planedude

New version works great! I’m excited to try it out in a new build. Got any more instruments in mind? ;)
This plane is fun to fly! Nice flaps (funny thing to say haha) do you have a finished version?
Awesome plane, love the cockpit! Way to go
Really cool looking plane!
