Please do! Fill out the “join us” form on the website (link is up above) and @mikoyanster should handle it. If it takes too long, I’ll send you an instant invite to the discord group @Caveman999
Simple planes has horrific stall simulations and no propwash simulation at all so 3D planes aren’t possible using traditional building methods. Workarounds are possible with gyros, RCS, etc but it won’t be like the real thing
Anyone can join as long as you are interested in aviation and won’t cause a ruckus. I have no idea when the next meeting will be but we do have a basic plan of what it will be. If you want to join, complete the form on the website (I think I linked it up above) and you’ll soon get invited to the discord @ThePilotDude
All aggressive entities cease fire when you are "critically damaged" so you don’t have missiles continually hitting your separated cockpit. It also means you can watch your aircraft fall from the sky in a fiery blaze instead of being bombarded by machine gun fire until there is nothing left. It also means ejecting a pylon breaks the whole system @stig27
@jamesPLANESii Yes. I initiated hostilities and they started attacking, I jettisoned weapons and they stopped. I even blew the carrier and one destroyer with guns and the other destroyer didn't care. If I don't jettison bombs and missiles, they continue attacking
If you have overload or an XML editor, you’ll be able to find a control surface deflection value. As for fine tuning size, I’ve never had much success. @atgxtg
Probably a system of a pendulum attached to control wires. Just make sure the weight of the pendulum can overcome the flight forces on control surfaces @ThePrototype
As far as I know, the best you could do is give it tons of polyhedral and dihedral with a high wing. Mechanical autopilots require mechanical gyroscopes (completely different to SP gyros) most of the time. Try a wiki article for the history of autopilots
A slow, agile plane with lots of missiles and a few small bombs is almost as good if not better than a helicopter in this map. Sounds like cheating but I'm flying at 300-700km/h through ravines while shooting tanks with a machine gun. Definitely not easy
Use the tractor tread. It does NOT make it look like a tractor, it makes it look like a trophy truck (it’s a very, very common off-road tread pattern). The wheel size is perfect for a trophy truck; any bigger and it will be a rockcrawler and have trashy high speed handling
@mikoyanster I fly and design freestyle/race quadcopters that can change direction at 10+ G-forces easily. The problem I have with simpleplanes is that the gyro can't control separate engines; it only operates through gyroscopic effect at limited angles. I'm trying to simulate rate/acro/manual mode where the flight computer will leave the craft facing wherever you point it and simply remove vibrations and unwanted spins. Any tips?
Lol I did terribly. It was probably my best looking and worst flying creation. Anyone have tips on how to make helicopters/multirotors fly properly in simpleplanes? I design and fly quads in real life but can’t get them to work in simpleplanes
Tried it earlier. Excellent flight characteristics but the suspension is almost non-functional (hinges in the wrong places) and the colour scheme is rather drab. I can barely see anything on the aircraft due to the colours. All in all, it’s a great plane, but I’ll wait for the final version when you fix those small things @XjayIndustrys
Takeoff can be a lot slower and shorter than that if you know what to do. I’ve done 50 before. This is mainly designed for rough, short runways and long flights rather than landing on mesas. Don’t worry, I’ll be making an ultra-light, ultraslow slow bush plane soon @XjayIndustrys

Absolutely. I’m thinking of creating an ejector cabin for one of my upcoming planes. Eject cabin, cease fire humanely @stig27

I’m glad you think so! Feel free to join so you can have your screenshots up here in the next promotional post @F104Deathtrap

Since the day I bought a 3D RC plane.

Just kidding, it’s really hard at first but easy once you get you flying hours up
I@F104Deathtrap
Oh yeah, I forgot lol. It will probably be some sort of SAM assault but I have no idea of the time @ThePilotDude

Modded detachers get you to the highest number that unity supports but you can't really land it
blurple, yellow and baby-poo brown
@Hyattorama thank you very much!
Did you change anything from the original?
@Dllama4 no idea what you mean by that. Is that a positive 'oof' or negative 'oof'?
@jamesPLANESii Added it now. Thanks for pointing that out!
@Caveman999 Thank you!
@GenericWhiteGuy @Hyattorama Were you the ones who wanted a floppy rock crawler with independent suspension?
+1That was quick! @randomusername
+1Awesome! It would seem the rock bouncer craze is reappearing
+1Thanks, but I’ve already established that as you can see in the edited section and the comments below @laserborn88

The touchscreen is a bit insensitive but appears to be crack-proof
√-1/10
May or may not buy again
Around 1000 is what I use to simulate a 30-40mm gun. That creates explosions aplenty
@jamesPLANESii figured it out. Edited the post to explain

Came up with that on the spot lol @Zyvx
I hope it will have real suspension

Sure, go ahead @Captbadass

What’s this? A detailed ship under 1000 parts? I don’t believe it
Ahhh... so a shock absorber on all axes. A bit like a steady cam @Minecraftpoweer
I have no idea why you would need stabilisers on a tank. Are you talking about ground vehicles?
Ok, I won’t upvote
+5And it even has double wishbone suspension :D no more detailed trucks with no suspension :D

+1@Kakofrutaka I’m glad to see you’re making very nice rock bouncers! I never do that much detail
+1I suggested it and EternalDarkness implemented it quite recently
+1I do like it :)
+4Can’t wait to try it out!
+1Go ahead, please @Texasfam04
