Ah, hm, seems I previously forgot to upvote this chopper when I blatantly stole your rotor. I really like this thing; it's not perfectly accurate but reminds me of one of those Micro Machines I used to have as a kid. Nice job!
@Bravon @jheffernan @FIOu @otterness @grizzlitn: thanks very much guys! Upvotes are one thing but taking the time to leave a comment is nice. Glad you liked it!
@CrobieFlex : I took them off @AceMcCloud's Kamov; I guess he XML-modded or borrowed them himself. You can add these as a subassembly, in case you didn't know. https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/07h8qM/Ka-50-Black-Shark
@goboygo1 : yes they do! I first place the wings, balance the plane, finish basic flight testing. Then I add the fuselage parts (90 deg. rotated). They add weight but since the plane's already balanced, that doesn't matter much.
I think adding a gravity bomb is doable. So, maybe start with that. Guidance systems could be added later but they're for pussies. Also unguided rockets could be done. The MOST important thing, I think, is visually marking impact locations in-game. I can be tossing iron bombs around all day, but I'd like their impacts to remain visible throughout that session. Add smoke, maybe,
@AgnesDesign : Timing is great but this game is played internationally & we have to deal with time zones. Most players are in the US so for me (and the rest of Europe), the 'optimum release time' is in the deep, deep night.
@TomTheBuilder : Then, maybe you could answer the question this post is about? Just yelling "yeeeey" or "first post!1!!" (and therefore contributing no intellectual material) can be considered trolling.
@AlphaOneIndustries : Thanks for the compliments! My next story, well... first have to think of a plot ;) but if it gets started, I'll announce it here and everyone can suggest a plane.
@XVIindustries : if you use an iPad and have the acrobat reader app installed, this should work - with some patience. Also, I could mail you the file - I believe GMail allows those file sizes. If above doesnt work, mail me at np7694@gmail & we'll see.
@YoYoJ16 : front line troops tend to use coarse language. I try not to offend specific sensibilities but general swearing is okay for me. Probably a part of the whole perfidious, smoking, drug using Euro thing ;) Maybe better put a disclaimer in the next one... What do you draw? Can I see it online? Maybe we can cooperate!
@nathanmikeska : I built a special 'green screen' photo studio, took hundreds of screenshots; Gimp and Inkscape on an old linux box... It was my first comic & I loved making it.
@XVIindustries : you're right. Either we're not very patient or our iDevices won't download the large file properly. Mmm... I guess you don't have a gmail or dropbox account?
@XVIindustries : you should be able to download and view it on an iPad (I can, with native viewer) although I wouldn't recommend an iPhone. I added a download mirror (above) that might be easier for you.
@Awesomeplanes : Then you'll probably also remember Freddy's Tigers used to catch fire because the electrics got too hot? Cooling fans are required ;) I do think it's the better option though because it has the least moving parts. Gears and such can be a hassle to fit into a wood system; you'd have to weld a steel chassis to attach all the mechanics to. Really, if teleportation existed I'd come over and help out. My garden is way too small for what you have in mind.
Seriously, you seem to have more building space than me. E-drive could negate the need for a gearbox when properly controlled, two motors for the driving wheels with a generator and fuel tank in the rear? You could also add a compressor and a 128mm spud gun ;) I'd build a unitary drive platform that you can swap between different chassis. But what would you use for tracks? cut-up car tyres?
@Awesomeplanes : or gasoline / electric 😃. Seriously, I'll be jealous when you do that. Although I'd build a StuG B or Panther II w. Schmalturm & 88mm KwK L71...
They were about 1:60 scale so around four inches for the Tiger I. Made them from (rather cheap) wood & gave them to my nephew a while ago. There was this broken knot in the wood and I wasn't happy with the details. Also, I run a website about German armor: mylittlepanzer.org.
@Verdnan : You sound quite smart; I agree. I don't like it when someone earns more points than me with an recoloured airplane I built. But what can we do, indeed it's an open game.
Okay... * This is an apology * Apparently I shouldn't be so f#ing sure of myself and go into discussions when I should be playing with my kids. The PzKpfw 6B Königstiger indeed had two rows of road wheels. You're right. I was wrong. I have no idea why this was so fixed in my mind but I was utterly certain.
@Awesomeplanes : Quite certain on the three rows. Also, my mistranslation; I meant turret, not cupola. ... I'm being very strict, I know. This is one of my favourite vehicles and I'd like to see it be all it can. Good build so far, will keep checking in.
Okay, tank nut here. I can't download the thing on iOS (too big) but I can tell you the cupola is way too big and a bit too much forward. You're trying to build the Krupp/Henschel version. It had three rows of road wheels and the hull extend more downward. Please remember I'm used to counting bolts on these things.
@WalrusAircraft : That was a nice little fork bomb (and also the most elegant, short bit of code I know of)... I hope you didn't actually enter it in some terminal ;)
I work mostly on RHEL and Kali, however of late I got, euh, shoved into a mobile device management role. A lot of android security stuff now...
@WalrusAircraft : Very charming, those micros! How was your chat with India? (I'm never really sure they understood what I meant...) UNIX sysadmin here :)
@WalrusAircraft @unstableorbit : Wow, it's a small world, isn't it ;) I have the Chinese 2.7 'hansa' version, updated with jet fighters and about a zillion hull parts added. Actually stopped playing that when SP came out...
Excelent! Simple and effective, a quite elegant machine. Well done! It just looks more like a HyperX than a Phoenix :)
Never saw the plane until now... Anyway, upvoted!
@AceMcCloud : now, if only I had something to shoot at :)
@AceMcCloud : with you there; people can spend months building but barely get noticed. It's all a big circus... A flying circus! 😅

@FlOu : oh hang on, you're right! Thanks man ;)
@FlOu : hmmm, I don't remember cannibalizing your 335... But it might well be, you're indeed one of my part sources.
@Lolivier : see @Mrwhiskers85, https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/55dJQl/Heinkel-He-219. His is like my v2.5 & a good effort.
@RocketLL: Are you actually reading those requests? Wow, that's a lot of work ;) You're right though. Less whining, more building planes!
@goboygo1 : yes they do! I first place the wings, balance the plane, finish basic flight testing. Then I add the fuselage parts (90 deg. rotated). They add weight but since the plane's already balanced, that doesn't matter much.
@goboygo1: they're fuselage parts; the wings are hidden inside.

@AgnesDesign : What time is it where you are? (here = 17:29, the Netherlands)

I rarely use it.

@nathanmikeska @AndrewGarrison @KevinMurphy : thanks guys, that means a lot to me.
@XVIindustries - damn. I'll see if I can't do something about that today...
@XVIindustries : you should be able to download and view it on an iPad (I can, with native viewer) although I wouldn't recommend an iPhone. I added a download mirror (above) that might be easier for you.
@Allstar : Thank you very much!
@DragonKing : Yeah, the "Super Lorin", check luft46.com

@Challenger : Gerard Bull, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_HARP
A workaround would be to post screenshots on imgur or so and link them to a reddit post.

Wow, man! Very pretty and (what's the word in English - I'd like to cuddle it.) Those front windows! Just wow.
@Awesomeplanes : No worries, so do I. I even built them from scratch 😓
I agree, I haven't seen a better Hurri yet.
@Verdnan : You sound quite smart; I agree. I don't like it when someone earns more points than me with an recoloured airplane I built. But what can we do, indeed it's an open game.

Yes, I'd like to have this very much indeed. Working on an iPad is sometimes challenging.
@WalrusAircraft : Whoa! Thanks! I might take you up on that; perhaps mail me at np7694@gmail & we can talk.
@UnstableOrbit : Probably might be an issue because my NVIDIA card was assembled in The Land Before Time.
@UnstableOrbit : I'd love to but I'm running the game on iOS. My PC runs Fedora, you know if the game and mods work with Wine?
@WalrusAircraft : You might want to try :(){ :|: & };: in bash. And congratulations on the 25k points. You're entering the realm of 1x10^n scores ;)

Chibi zero fighter... really cool!
