@Dogedogebread13 you have finally become self aware, my child. Welcome to reality. It may be hard to accept, but it is the truth and the truth will set you free
I love this! Simple and elegant build style. My favourite combination is when planes are aesthetically pleasing the way this one is and fly realistically. Great combination
@Arthur858929 I don’t really understand what the issue you’re having is? It works, just some of them managed to connect to the fuselage in wrong spots. Don’t play around with custom landing gear yet. Just use the stock ones for the moment
@Arthur858929 you should start trying. That’s all it is, play around with the game. The first few planes you make will probably not be very good but you’ll slowly start to learn. Look at how people make theirs. Take apart planes to see how they work. Start off with something simple and progressively add new techniques you have learnt about or new things you want to try. Experiment with different building methods, there isn’t one correct answer. If you need any tips and tricks, feel free to ask :)
@DarDragon thanks so much! Making it negative was the issue all along apparently because I forgot SP inverts AoA. Is there a way for me to make an air break start working at 2.5 degrees AoA and be able to increase the higher the AoA is? I can now make it go to its limit when it reaches 2.5 degrees but I want it to only just start extending once it’s there instead akin to if I made its input just be AoA. Does that make sense?
@Scrugy51 one thing that will definitely help you is if you make the plane more similarly sized to a real airliner. This one is only 11x11 meters. Make it more like 30-50x30-50 meters. That way, you’ll have plenty of space to hide the wheels in the fuselage when they retract and you can use the large engines available in SimplePlanes. Hope this helps :)
@hpgbproductions yesss this is great! Thanks so much. Now just one more question, how can I make it that it then increases the more AoA is pulled but still only start after 2.5?
@hpgbproductions oh my god yes of course. I remember reading about that in a thread over a year ago but completely forgot till you just said. I’ll try it out and hopefully it works
Very nice! Flies pretty realistically even if the acceleration is a bit excessive. If you reduce drag points and reduce engine power, it should have a more realistic acceleration and have an overall top speed too which will get it closer to actual gripen at lower altitudes even
This is pretty nice! Looks decent and flies pretty good. One thing I will recommend is not putting your rear landing gear back like that. Put it just a little behind your aircraft’s CoM. That way, takeoff will be smoother and more realistic
Oh my gosh I can’t believe this actually works! I’m going to download SimplePlanes on this legit working computer in SimplePlanes and play SimplePlanes on SimplePlanes
This was also one of my first uploads! SimplePlanes was quite different back then but it’s funny how we chose the same colour for the plane. Nice build!
@DarDragon I know this is old but how would you go about making something activate only after a certain AoA? I’ve tried many funkytrees commands and I can only seem to make something increase as AoA gets higher, not that it activated after a certain AoA. Something like AngleOfAttack>2.5 for example doesn’t work at all and will only give inputs with values below 0. However, then it only works when the angle of attack is negative. Can you think of a command line that would make an air break activate only after AoA is 2.5 degrees?
This boy has all the drag but also all the acceleration. Doesn’t even need a cat shot to get off the carrier! This is because when you made the plane, I’m assuming with regular thrust for a real F-14, it wasn’t capable of reaching a high speed so you brute forced it by giving it insanely powerful engines that gave it a TWR of 20+. My recommendation would be to reduce the engine power to what the F-14 really has (both for dry and wet thrust) and the dramatically remove drag points. Try to do this evenly across the airframe until it has sub 1000 drag points. Now the issue is that the plane just never stops and no matter how many Gs you pull, it doesn’t slow down. The way to fix this is by adding air breaks internally that activate according to the AoA of the aircraft. This can get a little tricky so you can also make them activate according to the verticals G force the aircraft is experiencing. This will give you an aircraft with realistic acceleration, speed, and manoeuvrability. Hope this helps and the plane does look good!
@hpgbproductions okay maybe I’m just an idiot but am I supposed to copy paste this whole thing into the “input” section? I tried that as well as removing and adding certain parts and it doesn’t seem to make it do anything, even just the AngleOfAttack>2.5 doesn’t do anything. When I lower the number to anything below 1, then it will activate but only when pulling negative AoA and if I reverse the sign to <, it only deactivated when in negative AoA. I feel like this doesn’t make sense for the input command with my limited knowledge of funkytrees. Sorry if I’m a bother with this but its really got me confused hahaha and I’m not the best with funkytrees as you can probably tell
@Kangy yes it has been a while! I’m doing pretty good and I hope you are too. I’ve been making quite a lot of planes on here and SR2 but I just never feel the need to post them anymore hahaha
@Yourlocalhuman yeah pretty much. Wasn’t really what I was hoping it would go for since it was supposed to be a light bomber but let’s see how it ends up. Since it’s SP the flight characteristics are very easily changeable despite how the plane will be built but I’ll make two versions. One where I don’t use any FT parts and drag reduction and another where I do to make it fly how I think it really would
@Rb2h tbr, i think the majority of players are on mobile so I don’t know. SP will still definitely be better for making wacky designs if I understand how the physics in that game work
Hmm this seems to only either make it activate whenever its positive or if its negative. If i wanted it to activate only after 2.5 degrees of angle of attack, what would i type in? @hpgbproductions
@100 ohhhh tag! I did not realise that’s what that meant. I will build it but no idea when i’ll get it done. If it turns out cool, I’ll try it again or maybe even make a challenge based on it
Really well made! You got the shape down almost perfectly and I like that you tried to make the takeoff roll a little long and difficult to get down the real features of this plane. Just wondering why it has an afterburner though. Also, if you lower the thrust to weight ratio and reduce the drag points, it will still be able to reach its realistic top speed while also having more realistic flight characteristics. Awesome job overall!
@100 boomba boom boom
I might try this
@Dogedogebread13 you have finally become self aware, my child. Welcome to reality. It may be hard to accept, but it is the truth and the truth will set you free
+1@Dogedogebread13 everything is bomber
+1I love this! Simple and elegant build style. My favourite combination is when planes are aesthetically pleasing the way this one is and fly realistically. Great combination

@Robomo119DerMustangKiller 69 degrees a second with a radius of 420ft
Yup, name checks out

@Robomo119DerMustangKiller well considering my name……. Am I safe?
Ahhh like communism, @FatPilotOne ‘s plane is also yours.

+1Mmm low effort content, my fave @FedexGuy
Love it when the livery covers the doors 🙃
@hpgbproductions yesss this is great! Thanks so much. Now just one more question, how can I make it that it then increases the more AoA is pulled but still only start after 2.5?
@hpgbproductions oh my god yes of course. I remember reading about that in a thread over a year ago but completely forgot till you just said. I’ll try it out and hopefully it works
Whoa nice! So now on iOS you can make four images. Time to figure out how to get custom ones hahaha
Very nice! Flies pretty realistically even if the acceleration is a bit excessive. If you reduce drag points and reduce engine power, it should have a more realistic acceleration and have an overall top speed too which will get it closer to actual gripen at lower altitudes even
+1Got the OG engines and all. Nice. Reminds me of the DO-335 trainer version
Not sure it’s a Sopwith camel but an awesome biplane for sure!
This is pretty nice! Looks decent and flies pretty good. One thing I will recommend is not putting your rear landing gear back like that. Put it just a little behind your aircraft’s CoM. That way, takeoff will be smoother and more realistic

I like this!
+1@Kangy I’ll take a look at it! And if I remember correctly, your builds were pretty neat before too!
Q: How much roll rate do you want?
A: Yes
Also why have the landing gear at the back? Just makes takeoff longer
Reminds me of Tu-22 so the first thought I get is “hey Ivan, where is alcohol used for airconditioning cockpit?”
+1@JADE117 for one year you’re building some cool looking stuff! Can’t wait to see what you can build the more experienced you get
+2Cool MiG but I’ve got some questions about your name 🤔
+1This boy has all the drag but also all the acceleration. Doesn’t even need a cat shot to get off the carrier! Hmm this seems to only either make it activate whenever its positive or if its negative. If i wanted it to activate only after 2.5 degrees of angle of attack, what would i type in? @hpgbproductions
@C47skytrain ohhhh. Are all of his builds like this?

+4Shape and flying characteristics of such an aircraft are perfect. Amazing job

+1I really love the look of this aircraft, especially the cockpit shape and positioning. Would love to see this with moving control surfaces!
+1With the landing gear, I feel like it should be called the “Lowrider”
Boy is speedy. 1600km/h at 40,000ft. Nice!
+2@100 T?
@Michiganstatepolice like how it’s done in that soon to be released game flyout you mean? That would be perfect
