Oh my gosh I can’t believe this actually works! I’m going to download SimplePlanes on this legit working computer in SimplePlanes and play SimplePlanes on SimplePlanes
@jelybaca i mean with that you can also say that all museums are pointless because paintings and fossils don’t do anything but just sit there hahaha. Part of the airfield is pretty much a museum but I’m glad you see my point!
I think the ability to make an in-game screenshot be your aircrafts thumbnail needs to be integrated into the game. This way mobile users like myself would have the same ability as those on PC finally. It would be great to be able to use photos of my aircraft flying with afterburners on as my thumbnail and I’m sure others would be grateful for this feature too
It would also be great to have rocket motors which would use separate fuel. Not as extensive as SR2 but a choice to have solid or liquid fuel would be great. This would be fantastic for making JATO like accessories and rockets in general.
This is really awesome! For your first upload it’s incredibly good. I do have to say though that the numbers are mirrored so on one side it says 10 and the other 01 but other than that it looks really good. I’m guessing it’s a plane from the 1950s from it’s looks and it seems a bit too fast for that but other than these small points, it’s excellent. You have yourself a new follower!
So there are a few problems with this aircraft, mainly that it barely flies. The camo, as godlike as it is, has caused many problems since you did not remove its weight or drag. That’s why this plane is heavier than a modern day airliner and has more drag than an apartment block. If the camo parts were made without drag or mass, it would fly decently as well making this one of the coolest planes that’s been on the site in a while. Nevertheless, the effort put into this is evident and very impressive. For the sheer look of the aircraft, you did an excellent job and had the camo been removed, I bet it would fly well too
My god this is so cool! I was confused as to what on Earth it was but using FT to create an animation like that is truly amazing. It’s great what cool stuff people can make on here now. Awesome work!
This is possibly the most beautiful creation in SimplePlanes. Not only does the exterior look great and does the airship fly very well, but inside is something I’ve never seen done on this website. The amount of effort that must have gone into making all the doors, stairs, tables, and chairs is astounding. The icing on the cake, however, is that grand piano. That thing looks so incredibly good and really adds the finishing touch to the feel this is supposed to give. I really wish there was some way to walk around and explore in this thing better than just carefully zooming in through the walls. This is by far my favourite build on SimplePlanes and I don’t even know what could be better. Thank you for putting so much effort into this and for sharing such a wonderful creation
This is really a fantastic build. You managed to make the shape of the cockpit feel so smooth, as if it was one piece! The only thing that might have been a good change was if flaps were bound to the VTOL lever instead of trim. That way you could use both at the same time or individually
This is absolutely extraordinary. It looks incredible and just like the plans for the real thing, but it’s so hard to fly since the roll sensitivity is very very high. Apart from this though it’s great
This boy has all the drag but also all the acceleration. Doesn’t even need a cat shot to get off the carrier! This is because when you made the plane, I’m assuming with regular thrust for a real F-14, it wasn’t capable of reaching a high speed so you brute forced it by giving it insanely powerful engines that gave it a TWR of 20+. My recommendation would be to reduce the engine power to what the F-14 really has (both for dry and wet thrust) and the dramatically remove drag points. Try to do this evenly across the airframe until it has sub 1000 drag points. Now the issue is that the plane just never stops and no matter how many Gs you pull, it doesn’t slow down. The way to fix this is by adding air breaks internally that activate according to the AoA of the aircraft. This can get a little tricky so you can also make them activate according to the verticals G force the aircraft is experiencing. This will give you an aircraft with realistic acceleration, speed, and manoeuvrability. Hope this helps and the plane does look good!
@100 ohhhh tag! I did not realise that’s what that meant. I will build it but no idea when i’ll get it done. If it turns out cool, I’ll try it again or maybe even make a challenge based on it
Pretty neat and I like how you made the torpedo only able to be deployed within a certain speed and altitude. One small mistake which causes a pretty big problem though is that you set the traction of the front wheels to 150%. This way, you can’t takeoff or land properly. Reduce this to 50% and it will take off perfectly
I love this! Very cool looking carrier. One small thing though, it doesn’t make sense to put the CIWS and SAMs under the deck since they cannot aim upwards in the direction most threats will be coming from. Maybe make small extended platforms for them to be placed on like some real aircraft carrier defences. Nevertheless it’s really cool
Pretty good work! The plane itself looks fantastic and small adjustments would make it perfect. The one thing which really takes away from how real it looks is it’s flight performance. Those engines are way too powerful and the plane accelerates too fast. Reducing the engines to 1 times power and making the throttle the normal one will help fix this. If you want it perfect though, reduce the drag points to roughly 4000 and the engine power to 0.5 (I tried it and this is most realistic). I don’t want to sound too harsh but I hope this helps you to make your planes even better! Looking forward to your next one!
When I first flew this, I was thinking it would be great if there was the possibility to walk around in it. At the time I thought that would never happen but seeing as SR2 released the playable and controllable astronaut, I have at least a little hope that it will eventually be possible.
Not the most relevant to this post but I was wondering if we might see something in SP like the new astronauts in SR2. Will there maybe be moveable pilots we can walk around with?
@Starlight ohhhh I see! Well you have to make it very glossy. If you activate the mods which came with the most recent update, you should be able to change both how metallic and how glossy a block is. That one is probably both max metallic level and also gloss. By the way I think it looks great with this colour scheme
Unrealistic, the glass doesn’t shatter
+14It would be great if you could choose which fuel tank to use first. This way drop tanks could actually be useful and dropped once they are empty
+13This is too fake. The window doesn’t shatter like the real one
+12Oh my gosh I can’t believe this actually works! I’m going to download SimplePlanes on this legit working computer in SimplePlanes and play SimplePlanes on SimplePlanes
+9@jelybaca i mean with that you can also say that all museums are pointless because paintings and fossils don’t do anything but just sit there hahaha. Part of the airfield is pretty much a museum but I’m glad you see my point!
+9Literally just got respirator masks (basically gas masks) for my whole family hahaha. Coronavirus doesn’t seem like something to play around with
+9Plane Hydra doesn’t exist, it can’t hurt you.
plane Hydra:
+8Awesome build! It looks great especially for so few parts
+8“I carry a .45 Cus they don’t make a .46” @ReinMcDeer

+7I’m gonna try to see if my iPhone can fly like that too if I throw it

+6Ahh yes, the classic “added so many weapons to someone else’s build” post
+6Oh yes! This would be brilliant! Maybe some auto tracking AA guns too
+6This is really awesome! For your first upload it’s incredibly good. +6Very nice!
+6This is the cutest plane I’ve seen on here! Nice one!
+6Iraqi radar operators hate this guy
+5@CheeseTruffles I mean hopefully no one survives to tell the United Nations about it 😂
+5I thought this was done without any mods and was wondering how on Earth it would be possible to write code to make a text box display a camera view 😂

+5I'll have two number 9's, a number 9 large, a number 6 with extra dip, a number 7, two number 45's, one with cheese, and a large soda.
+5@FlagsWorldwide wow that’s even more of a shame in that case. It’s disappointing that people cannot just be civil
+5Looks just like the little red panzerkampf-wagon from my childhood

+5Doesn’t look like an F-4 and doesn’t fly like an F-4. Can confirm it’s one of the best F-4s and is actually insane

+4Absolutely beautiful build!
+4Looks like somebody needs to download SimpleRockets2!
+4@Mekomara Me too. I’m a bit smooth brain when it comes to funky trees
+4@qwerty132 totally agree. It’s a terrible look for them

+4Did you build it all yourself?

+4The fact that this can be scaled to 0.05 and work makes it one of the most useful mechanical parts on SP. thanks so much for this awesome creation!
+4This looks fantastic! I love how this ship looks in the film and you made it perfectly! Great hyperdrive too
+4Cool! Nice TOW style missile
+4Damn that fifth one with the car really hit home
+4There seems to be a bug where machine guns fire in sync instead of how they did before. Would it be possible to fix this?
