Interesting, I didn’t know that. As far as suggestions go, your building style has drastically improved over the past month. To take it even further I would recommend at some point incorporating custom landing gear and custom wings/control surfaces into your builds. You’d be doing in one month what has taken me 4 years to get into using. @vcharng
@Kweed10 Unfortunately I was mistaken on that part. I assumed that if it would show up in Overload it would be visible in the XML file itself. You have to add it to each part individually yourself if using the file, which defeats the purpose of not using Overload.
Nothing is wrong with mobile. I myself started as an iOS user. However the years of complaining about “durr screw u devs i wnt mods 4 ios!” and now “waaaa protest agenst rmoving android modzz” gets really tiresome. It’s not worth dealing with such people aside from leaving some silly PC master race meme or similar thing, which might give off that sort of impression. I assume most PC players think similarly, except for one unpleasant guy who you have probably already encountered.
There are a couple ways you can reduce/get rid of drag entirely, but first there are some things to explain.
Drag in-game is defined by 2 attributes that affect the drag of individual parts.
- dragScale (any number above 0, 1 by default)
- calculateDrag (true/false, true by default).
While they are similar in function, the main difference is that calculateDrag completely removes the affected part from the drag calculation when set to false, meaning that other parts behind it will have drag like that part isn’t even there. Using calculateDrag to disable drag also has the added benefit of being less resource intensive on your device, so personally it is what I recommend, especially for high part count builds.
You can change drag of individual parts by changing either of those attributes directly in the XML file or via the Overload mod. To remove all drag, you can open the XML file in a text editor and press Ctrl+H to open the replace text tool. Search for all instances of calculateDrag = true (exact way of typing might not be accurate, don’t have pc access right now to check) and replace the true with false.
The plane looks nice, but control surfaces covered by fuselage and corners of wings sticking out are just too much for me to upvote. You should invest time into custom control surfaces.
If you were really banned for no discernable reason, you can use the “Contact” option at the bottom of the page to dispute it instead of making stupid forum posts.
Have the leading edge block taper towards the tip;
Adjust the triangle block so that its front side is as tall as the wing should be thick at root and be zero units wide. Rear side should be as tall as the wing tip is thick and as wide as the wing is long;
Place front end of the triangle block onto the leading edge block so that it points forward, and align the point with the root;
Adjust "run" and "length" of the triangle block to fit the leading edge block;
Add custom control surfaces to the rear of the triangle block on rotators;
Profit.
I have added another block to the rear of the triangle block to get a smoother airfoil. That is recommended but not mandatory. Fuselage inlets flipped onto their sides are recommended for custom surfaces in order to give you trailing edge sweep by editing inlet angle.
Add a new line to the section named "Missile", on the left side put "maxSpeed", and on the right put whatever speed you want.
Works for missiles, not sure about the unguided rockets
5, though I have a strong feeling you will not respect the decision if it comes to that anyway. I have several reasons for my vote, but it is for the best that I do not publicly elaborate.
It reminds me of this, which I may end up making at some point. @ACEPILOT109
On an unrelated note I like how your plane can take off and land without gear. It’s really fun to do.
Seeing another “I’m leaving” forum post is a relief compared to the other garbage that has been cluttering the forums. Have fun on your camping trip, and take solace in the fact that you will see more sunlight in a week than many on this site would see in a year.
I was about to comment “Wow, a WEBW build without some major flaw!” but I was sadly proven wrong upon finding that the UAV suddenly becomes unflyable and even randomly explodes when you use the rocket pods.
the more people get involved in something, the more idiots there are to ruin it for everyone. as true for the duck phenomenon as it is for any other group of like-minded people. i have a feeling we will see some of them in this comment section.

Ju 287? Or based off of it?

It's been years since I've seen a post like this.

I’ve made worse, in fact I’ve deleted a good 1/4 of my old planes because they were so bad. @X4JB

+4How to create this kind of wing:
Have the leading edge block taper towards the tip;
Adjust the triangle block so that its front side is as tall as the wing should be thick at root and be zero units wide. Rear side should be as tall as the wing tip is thick and as wide as the wing is long;
Place front end of the triangle block onto the leading edge block so that it points forward, and align the point with the root;

ducc
+4The takeoff and landing is fine, you just need to be more careful with it.
just want to see how he responds, if at all @belugasub
could the sp simulate wing physics as stall?
+7flys like a very good. i like it
no, unless you jailbreak. also it’s not the devs’ fault. blame apple
+5sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t
edit: apparently it never works
There is certainly a lot for me to learn from this.

+2A multiplayer troll deleter. I ought to make one of those.
+1I’ve seen worse!
I’m not so sure how this is able to fly with the CoM so far behind the CoL but it works. Great job.

do you really know moon runes?
Replicas. I'm not creative enough to make good fictional builds.
+1Okay, this is epic
upvote begging isn’t going to help, in fact it’s against the rules
+5This desperately needs a remake. With the new gyros I could probably make it work...
+1Don’t think so, but then again, neither am I.
What time is it?
