@CDRxavier check out my semi rigid rotor design, that uses a somewhat more classical swashplate design. You seem very knowledgable about mechanical inventions, are you an engineer for a living?
@CDRxavier oh i see the confusion. The rotating “plate” is the little bar connecting the rotators to the pushrods. It was made small in the interests of saving space. The “plate” that you see is actually the bottom swash plate that is not supposed to rotate
@CDRxavier thank you, feel free to make the necessary improvements and let me see it! With the new updates, this design is basically obsolete and would be better rebuilt instead
@CDRxavier the swashplate is 100% real! If you remove the rotor mast you can see the connections within (there are no ball joints or bearings in this game so i had to cheat physics a little bit)
@Baldeagle086 One more tip for any mechanical designs: I always have a subassembly saved that is titled “rod” and is literally a fuselage that is pre-sized to .25 diameter. It saves a lot of time so I can just drag it in and rotate/change the length
@Baldeagle086 Are you looking to make a model or to make one that mechanically works like a real one? I would not be the person to ask for models, but as for a mechanically working one, I would first suggest researching and understanding the swashplate and different types of rotor head design (looking at “collective pitch” model rc helicopters is a great visual aid!) then I would say that there are some things that this game doesn’t simulate, so don’t be afraid to make use of the things the came doesn’t simulate correctly to compensate (like how some rotating parts can pass through each other to form a sort of bearing). Hope that helps looking forward to your first design (comment here when you have it, or message me if you have any questions)!
@Neenyboy thanks haha! I wish I had the patience that you do to put good looks into my designs, I definitely focus on function over form! @PyrusEnderhunter it is a lot but probably not so much in comparison to others I have made, definitely one of the best performing though! Always more to learn from each old design, so let me know what you guys think needs improving!
@Datboii unfortunately I am a mobile user and cannot rotate parts like the picture you showed, however I can still try to make something functional/nice looking but the frame is pretty small. Were you going to put more engines somewhere?
REMINDER to read and follow the startup procedure or it will usually destroy itself or fly terribly (albeit it is still slow and hunky in normal flight). Thanks hatsun and elite!
Forgot to mention, when powering up, increase throttle to full or bad things happen. VTOL for collective pitch, bad things happen at full collective too, I assume low rotor rpm causing overconing and folding
Thanks for all the comments and upvotes everyone! @Kadin821 I am thinking of making an updated version with fixed steering, a softer spring clutch, a better suspension, and maybe even more pistons to run better without jet assist. If you or anyone would like to see that or any other improvements before you make a car with it then please let me know!
Thanks a lot @mblastr , it took a lot of work for sure so Im glad you like it. Anyone have suggestions for my next build? Im thinking attempting a full suspension system with realistic steering controls?
Hey nice that was based off of my build from scratch! Not sure if you knew that by the time it got around to your device, check it out on mine!

@CDRxavier this build was made before the sphere update was released

Check out my updated version called “CH-3b”! (I did my best with aesthetics before the game started getting too laggy).

Hey! I might be able to help, what type of suspension were you looking for?

There is also a blade camera attached to view effects of flapping/coning/lagging

Thanks everyone, it was a fun proof of concept and I might try doing a piston engine and differential gear too, what do you think?
