Fun fact:
Fairchild-Republic modified the GAU-8/A Avenger to have two rates of fire. The secondary rate of fire had such a kickback that it could stall the aircraft if the burst lasted longer than 30 seconds. On the ground, the sound produced from it can be likened to a bee buzzing your ear.
This...is a Corellian YT-1300 Freighter. I don't know where this ship came from but it is definitely NOT set within the perimeters of a civilian transport. It has been illegally modified with 2 Quad Laser Canons, a new sub-light engine, several escape pods, and several hidden cargo holds meant for smuggling. Not the prettiest of ships, but it does get the job done...if you're a smuggler.
Yup. I think that was the first time I saw a diamond shaped fuselage. Can't believe I have been away from this game for so long lol. But yeah that is who the XML code credits as the mad hatter's predecessor.
No, it was not a real concept...and honestly it already says Based On DeezDuck's P-51 Mustang...thus giving that user credit for where I got this one from (though TBH, I used the Random Planes mod from Steam Workshop to find it). I had been trying to modify the Jundaro version of it to no avail....this one worked properly with a jet engine. Feel free to check out some of my original works and replicas elswhere on my profile. I think that my U2 Spy Plane replica has the most downloads so far.
@ossie112 Oh this was merely a small propulsion accuracy and small redeisgn for the proper color of the X-15. The Engine/Tail was actually flush with the main fusalage...which willl be improved for version 3.1.
Oh wow awesome :-) If you plan on adding a runway and some hangers, just use the orientation of the hangers used on Yeager Island, and an extremely long, and wider dirt version of the Bandit Airport runway.
@whopperlover17 I have always been a fan of the Fokker DR.1 Triplane. This is an almost to-spec replica that certainly deserves to earn many upvotes. She's a slower beastie, but she will outmaneuver most other fighters of that time.
@hopotumon Yup. The Scaler mod is quite useful...though you can edit the XML file of your aircraft so long as you know how to position things properly. It seems Simple Planes assembles the parts in a similar way that MS Flight Sim 4 for Macintosh and Parasoft's "A-10 Attack!".
@hopotumon It can...and no offense to you...but it can just barely move up and down enough to get off the ground. The front of primary wing shape needs to be scaled less to the front. Good Replica though ;-)
Just make sure the CoM (center of mass indicated by a red ball) is ahead of the CoL (center of lift...blue ball). Press the Spacebar in designer mode to see where they are.
@JamieGhost Either way,it should be good to go. I was having a pickle of it myself until I found this thread. Before that I kinda discovered that if you widen the main fuselage, and place the CoL in the right place in front of and relative to CoM, your aircraft will skip like a rock if it hits the water evenly.
@MemeKingIndustriesAndMegaCorporation So long as the cockpit lands somewhere on the runway inside the base, you shouldn't have much of an issue. The only counter defense to the oncoming missiles is a row of bullets from your wing guns acting as flack.

It's the least I could do ;-) I would not have made the Mad Hatter and Mader Hatter without it ;-)
I always loved the A-10. This is by far the easiest one to fly on Simple Planes.

The horizontal stabilizers were not swept wing, they were diamond-trapezoid shaped.
*The BF-Goodrich Extra 300s
The name triggered the American commercial jingle for Banana Boat Sunscreen in my head XD
This is perfect if you have Gestour's Simple Space mod ;-)
@Kerbango Authorities said...best leave it...unsolved
@DesertEagle3450 The rockets didn't fly well...the car would've glides back to earth if modified properly though.

Minus the vertical stabilizers, I would say that almost resemble the Shuttle Narcissus from the Alien franchise...
Nice!
Make sure to check out my "Cranked to 11 Edition" ;-)
@DahezDefalt I used the FineTuner mod to scale it.
@DahezDefalt I appreciate the compliment, but this wasn't my work. I merely scaled it.
I am not sure I would have used the "Fictional" tag on this one. NASA used it to test their "Fly By Wire" software used on the Space Shuttle.
That's normal DC10 behavior. It doesn't explode, it catches on fire.

Now all we need is an Area 51 since we know it does exist and its existence has been declassified.

@hopotumon Look up the classic Mac 68K Apple Symbol ;-)
I got this one to take off from the ground by scaling landing gear sizes down to 0.25 ;-)
Takeoff is a little long, but once it gets in the air...it is extremely agile. Good work :-)

The supposedly, totally not flyable, Iranian PAKIS Interceptor :-)
Reminds me of the SR71 BlackBird :-3

Any chance of making a replica of the Bede BD-5j ?
I was Hoping someone would make this :-)

The primary wings are too far forward toward the front.
@TheMajesticMrL
If it helps, I saved the location so that i started my takeoff run before hitting the tarmac.
