Disabling auto orientation just means the gyro effect stabilises according to the gryos local z axis rather than the global z axis. If you put the gro upsidedown with auto off, it will stabilise the craft upsidedown.

@CptJacobson I don't often take part in Role play stuff, but I do have a Faction by the name of UAC (more on it in my bio). We'll be happy to partner up with you as the faction holds the biggest research in intuitive self learning AI (50% of the military spec is robotic systems/drones, etc) and we also specialise in terraforming land for large amounts of profit (hence the ability to throw money into AI).
    .
Long story short, the AI systems from UAC even brought all the simpleplanes factions back after the whole world was taken over by a rogue.
    .
It's pretty overpowered, but what can I say, I'm a mod that makes mods. So, would be happy to form an alliance of sorts if you stay on the site. Just be sure to tag me when help is needed.

  • Goodbye 6.0 years ago

I've read into it and I dont really have a whole lot of experience in the whole Role Playing thing, so I'd like to think I have a fairly unbiased and objective stance on this.
    .
Firstly, I'd like to start off by saying, nobody hates you. I appreciate it can be difficult when our ideas get rejected by a group of people, but that's not to say they hate you.
    .
Secondly, from what Ive gathered, it seems your ideas were rejected on ethical grounds, rather than because they were too imaginative. Which is what happens when you end up in an arm's race with people, ethics tend to go out the window. Making super soldiers that are bred for war isn't really an ethical thing to do.
    .
Finally, it's a Role Play. Just make your people have a revolt against the dictator or something, have them kicked out of your faction and elect a new leader or something. The beauty of Role play games is the sky is the limit, which means you can hard reset if things go wrong. If people have a problem with that, then that says more about them than it does about you.

  • December 7th, 1941. But I'm not here to talk just about that 6.0 years ago

@BlackhattAircraft it's alright, no harm done. Now you know for next time, lol.

  • Can your forum post be removed for "complaining" 6.0 years ago

@BlackhattAircraft "So, i don't think I was complaining, just asking". I think @Tully2001 will agree with me when i say "asking" something usually warrants a question/question mark, which your forum posts don't. Needless to say, they can only be interpreted in one other way, so we assume you're complaining about the decision rather than interested in an answer to a question that you never actually asked.
    .
I mean no harm done, but next time try and keep any conversations regarding a removed forum post on said removed post. You can still see it, we can still see it and nothing will get lost out regarding context.

  • December 7th, 1941. But I'm not here to talk just about that 6.0 years ago

@BlackhattAircraft Because you're trying to stir up drama of a political nature, whether intentional or not, which is strictly against the site rules as well as trying to enforce remembrance on those who might not want to remember.
    .
Tell me, do you take time out on the MINIMUM of 170,000 people that died from the nuclear bombs dropped by America. Not only did more people die, but about half of those deaths were dragged over literal months from being exposed to unimaginable levels of radiation. Do you take time out on the 6th and 9th August to remember those people? Would you like it if you felt forced to remember those people? Because that's what this post is trying to do.

  • I think my PC just exploded. 6.0 years ago

It sounds like a power supply issue. If your computer won't start up at all (no lights, fans spinning up, etc, then it's highly likely that's your problem. I advise salvaging another PSU from another computer (temporarily) just to clarify though. PSUs are pretty standard components, so I wouldn't worry too much about compatibility.
    .
If the computer works with the surrogate PSU, then buy a new PSU that matches the power rating (Watts) of that stated on the broken one. Then obviously put the other PSU back into the functional computer.

  • Device help 6.0 years ago

@Rodrigo110 Your statement about the OS updates is objectively false and very misleading. The updates to the iPhones actually resulted in the batteries overheating, which caused the CPU to throttle and thus slow the device down as well as basically nerf battery life. My friend had an iPhone that she updated to the latest OS and that's exactly what happened, even after a factory reset. In fact, this very behavior resulted in her phone forcing restarts. This is from a device that was clearly working okay before the update. Sure, it could have been a one off case, but since numerous people had the same issue, it's pretty clear that this was a widespread and serious problem with the devices. so a "10%" decrease in performance is incorrect to say the least when it essentially made the phone unusable for anything remotely intensive like moderate gaming or multitasking.
    .
Even then apple still have poor insight into the use of their products. Case in point with an iPhone they released with antenna problems. When customers complained about sudden signal drop, they replied with "you're holding the phone wrong". Does that sound like legitimately good business practice to you? Is it acceptable to blame the majority of your user base for something the COMPANY did wrong?
    .
And no, apple laptops cannot keep up. Like I stated previously, the hardware specs have vastly increased since 2010. To compare them to today's products is like saying a hare and a tortoise run at similar speeds.
    .
    Case closed.

  • Device help 6.0 years ago

@Rodrigo110 I think you twisted my words a bit. I stated that one of the reasons windows laptops/computers appear to get more viruses is because there are more of them.
    .
Apple isn't far more secure than other OS platforms. At least from a stock point of view (a routed android device obviously has more potential to be hacked, etc). I had a few friends and university who stated that it was just as easy to plant a virus onto one or the other. To clarify they studied software, coding, etc. So, I feel they're more educated on the subject than both you and myself. So, to say apple is objectively more secure Purley from an OS point of view is nonsense.
    .
And yes, there is a lot of articles and videos out there from reputable sources which confirm that apple products tend to have a shorter lifespan than competitors. I'll be more than happy to link them if you're interested in watching/reading up on them. In fact there was a huge problem a couple months back with apple being caught deliberately and needlessly slowing down legacy devices.
    .
And I've seen numerous laptops from pre 2010 that still work. In fact I own one. It's currently under my bed gathering dust, but that's because it's not powerful enough (due to hardware limitations at the time it was manufactured) to do the 3D modeling, rendering, etc that I perform on my current laptop and computer. To be extra clear, an apple product of the same age and specs would also have the same limitations.
    .
To be extra clear, I'm not trying to take a royal dump on apple. They have a great product ecosystem, their OSs are well optimised and simple and they do have products such as their iPads which have great build quality.
    .
But like all companies they are flawed and in my personal opinion, their flaws outweigh any benefits for me. But then my priorities and usage are different to yours. Hence why I made it clear in my original comment that I can't make the decision on behalf of the OP.

  • P-51 Mustang 6.0 years ago

@WarHawk95 It's a stock plane. You do not have permission to upload a stock plane publicly and benefit off work you didn't put into the creation. The majority of users can access this plane by loading the Mustang in the build editor (hence the 0 downloads of this post), as well as the Hellkeska, Pigpen and Wasp. The aircraft as the predecessor is from an earlier version of the game before custom fuselage blocks were a thing.
    .
You have objectively violated the rules, by posting this plane and as others have noted, this is an obvious error. I'm personally willing to let this slide on this one occasion, but if you honestly don't understand what you've done wrong, I may have to reconsider that.

Do you want to get banned? Because this is how you get banned. Stop harassing other users and maybe there won't be a problem. If you have an issue, use the contact link below or tag a mod and inform them of the situation, citing links to back up your claim. By publicly humiliating people, you're only making yourself less credible and more likely to get a ban.

@AchuTMM Not if you're making mods for android, but I think you need to find and download the android SDK file in order to export it as an android mod. I think it's part of google's dev kit or something. It's been a while since I've made an android mod and I've reset my PC since then, so I no longer have it on my computer (hence my reluctance to make the android version). If I already had everything on my computer, I would have made an android version.

@CeeToTheZee I'm not 100% sure, but I think the main host server will be Japan based, while my personal backup server will probably be UK based, depending on what is decided at the time (it could be that one isn't required).

  • Squirrel Makes a Forum Post about a MP Fly-In, YOU WON'T BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT! 6.1 years ago

@Gravity @jamesPLANESii I was going to do that, but the problem is if people see the event started over an hour or two before they were available, they might think they missed the ship so-to-speak, and given the majority of the active audience are American, it seems more apt to tailor it towards them. I know the pain, because I live in England. perhaps there could be 2 timetabled events going on 1 day next time. Sadly, i thought of that too late.

@Kerbango it's to do with the layering of the particles. Particles are weird in unity as they don't sort themselves by distance as per se. But rather you have to manually layer them by assigning a number to them. Like I say, I'll try and fix it, but I can't promise anything.

  • Greatest Fighter Aircraft of All Time? 6.1 years ago

I think this is one of those things where it's purely opinion and paper based. Stats are a good source of determining whether something is good or not, but they aren't the be all and end all. Just because a fighter jet is shot down less, doesn't inherently mean it's a good fighter.
    .
The F-15 is a great example. It's got a near spotless record, but most of that is because it's too expensive for less developed countries to purchase. The more money a country has, the better facilities are available to it, such as aircraft and more importantly, the training for said aircraft. A lot of the F-15s victories have been over aircraft which were piloted by people that had very poor training in comparison to their US counterparts. It's a similar story to the SU-27 too. It was too expensive for a lot of countries to purchase and train for.
    .
Ironically, my personal favourite fighter jet is the SU-35. It's a proven platform with a few additional bonuses thrown in like advanced avionics and Radar Absorbent Materials, etc. Either that or the Spitfire. One can't fault a bit of good ol' British aerospace engineering.
