@Dizzle2233 Yeah That's because the lettering on the underside of the wing creates asymmetric drag. I don't know a way to disable drag but I did disable the mass on those parts. My other Hornets don't have this problem to that extent, although the refueling probe does rock them a little bit.
Nice. Also, I'm pretty sure planes will spawn as AI as long as they have no more than 100 parts, no more than 7 wing blocks, and some form of aircraft engine. There might be a fuel limit too but I havn't found anything on that.
@marcox43 I was playing around with RGB values to make my SU-27 Flanker a tan color and I found that R:150, G:130, B:90 works pretty good. it blends in pretty well with Yeager's runway which I didn't plan to do.
I've had this aircraft saved for over a year now. It's builds like these that really show what you can do with the game and help new players get more and more accurate. Nice job!
@Strikefighter04 Maybe there would be a hide feature so you could hide the different parts from the catagorys like Structural, Wings, Propulsion, Landing Gear, Cockpits, Gismos, or Weapons.
Hello! I created a post to better explain a mod idea I've had for a while. It would be a builder mode mod that brings a drop-down list of all the parts you have so you don't have to mess around with the camera to select those hard to reach parts. I tagged you in it but here's the link:
https://www.simpleplanes.com/Forums/View/775249
@ChiChiWerx yeah I think the top speed is about 1050mph in the real F-5. Since it's simpleplanes I cranked the engines up a little to go about 1600mph at around 25,000ft.
Well I've begun building. I'm 146 parts in and I'm not sure if my plane will fit this catagory very well. It's more of a cargo seaplane than a bush plane. It's looking something like a Grumman Goose with extending floats on the wingtips and the tail of a B-25.
@Leehopard Thanks! I try to keep my builds at a reasonable part count. When I started the build, I had no intentions of making it to scale and I'm regreting that now, though it is pretty proportional to the in game missiles if the Guardian is an AIM-9 and the Interceptor is an AIM-120. That tends to be the basis of scale for all my aircraft.
@marcox43 I see what you mean by the narrow field of view. I do like those guns tucked on the underside. they're quite flush with the design which is hard to do sometimes.
You can set the input of the light to "-LandingGear" instead of "LandingGear" so it's on when the gears are down. I think thats what most planes now have. Other than that I love it!
@MI I'll see what I can do but it'll have to wait as Im not home right now. From the looks of it we could probably turn the nose into the variant with the reconnaissance camera.
@marcox43 I really recommend digging into the functions you can do with the overload mod. You can also use the structural wing part instead of the regular wing blocks as they don't bend when you pitch up too much. You can enable control surfaces with the overload mod. Heres a link that may be helpful: https://simpleplanes.gamepedia.com/XML
@marcox43 It flies nice and the color matches pretty well. I like how the airbrakes look like the air refueling emblem. Do you XML mod your parts on your builds?
@JohnnyBoythePilot Thanks again! I made the EMP a short burst with a longer wait as it got too laggy too fast but it sorta makes sense that there's a cooldown. Glad you enjoyed.
what if you set his eyebrows to the throttle axis so he looks sad on the ground but when you throttle up, he looks angery or determined?
+6Nice. The tricky part is getting the engine to stay rotating in the same direction. sometimes it likes to reverse on its own.
@AceOfSpade That's somewhere next on my list. I do want to make a new F-15 though as my old one doesn't handle well and isn't the most realistic.
+1@Dizzle2233 Yeah That's because the lettering on the underside of the wing creates asymmetric drag. I don't know a way to disable drag but I did disable the mass on those parts. My other Hornets don't have this problem to that extent, although the refueling probe does rock them a little bit.
+4@Dene 謝謝! 我很高興你喜歡它。
I think I might try building a L-39 Albatros.
+1Wow. This is really well done! You might want to reduce the pitch range of the rear flaperons. That tends to stop that stuttering climb effect.
Nice! You captured the wing shape very nicely. Maybe move the CoM a little bit more forward. It makes it a bit more stable.
Nice. Also, I'm pretty sure planes will spawn as AI as long as they have no more than 100 parts, no more than 7 wing blocks, and some form of aircraft engine. There might be a fuel limit too but I havn't found anything on that.

@jamesPLANESii You're tempting me to build another plane. You said two entries per person?
I've had this aircraft saved for over a year now. It's builds like these that really show what you can do with the game and help new players get more and more accurate. Nice job!
@CRJ900Pilot I think you discover it by flying through the pyramid of Et on Maywar. Should be a high speed air race.
This looks really well done. I love the detailing. Nice part count too.
@Thaiiiiii if you look at my profile, I've already made a few combat variants of the F-18 both Hornet and Super Hornet.
I'm curious as to why this is tagged as a WWII plane.
@JangoTheMango I played around with the Multi-Select and figured it out. Thanks! I didn't know I could do that.
@JangoTheMango Is the steam version of the Fine Tuner mod up to date? I don't see that feature.
@Strikefighter04 Maybe there would be a hide feature so you could hide the different parts from the catagorys like Structural, Wings, Propulsion, Landing Gear, Cockpits, Gismos, or Weapons.
+1@Chancey21 They would probably be numbered. Airbrake 1 Airbrake 2 Airbrake 3 etc...
@FastDan Well I think it would be a useful feature to the game so maybe he'd be able to add it to the vanilla game.
@FastDan well maybe he knows someone who can.

@AndrewGarrison @Gestour @Tully2001
Look at that! Front page! Nice job.
+2@SkylineAero oh is that an Ace Combat reference? I only played AC5 That's how I first heard of the F-5.
@jamesPLANESii Well it's probably greasy.
@jamesPLANESii Thanks! It took me all day to make.

@Texasfam04 Thanks. Right now there's only one entry to the challenge. You've made some pretty nice things. are you going to have a try at it?
@mikoyanster Thanks! I'm excited for the part two. I'd like to see how my Super Sabre holds up.
@mikoyanster I can't seem to open the video. It says it's unavailable.
@MI I'll see what I can do but it'll have to wait as Im not home right now. From the looks of it we could probably turn the nose into the variant with the reconnaissance camera.
What's the part count limit and rewards?
@JohnnyBoythePilot
@TheGigaByte I made its VTOL engine as a challenge to build an F-35. You might be able to retrofit it to this plane.
@marcox43 It handles really well. I I do like that you've slimmed the wings down in the newer varients.

+1@marcox43 I'll try it out when I get home. Did you fix the colors? I know on MP you were playing around with that.
@breitling Why not make more?
Did I see you testing this in Multiplayer the other day?
Nice! Flys so much better than my F-15. I need to make a new one.
@JohnnyBoythePilot Thanks again! I made the EMP a short burst with a longer wait as it got too laggy too fast but it sorta makes sense that there's a cooldown. Glad you enjoyed.
