@enzoBoeing757 sorry, not sure I understand what you mean. Could you please explain in detail or upload a build you are working on so I can take a look?
@SnoWFLakE0s yeah, infortunately the collision box remains the same. That's why the wheel made from the single round fuselage block won't work good as well. I used to use .25 stubs instead of round blocks to get around this, but @shipster offered a much simpler solution.
Nice tutorial, but there's one thing that should be avoided when making gears: don't use round fuselage blocks as a base of the gear. The thing is, it appears round, but its collision box is still square and therefore will interfere with other gears
@SnoWFLakE0s I'm not really sure I understood you correctly, but thank for your words and for the upvote! It always amazes me how some pretty crappy builds get more upvotes than really clever ones (I'm not talking about myself here, but in general). And you know what, sometimes perfect is the enemy of good.
It's a shame I haven't discovered your profile earlier, because your builds are awesome and I'm gonna give you some upvotes!
@AWESOMENESS360 yeah, it does it too :). There's one thing I wanted to try but completely forgot about, maybe it could help a bit, but probably not. Also I have a similar prototype I actually started with, you can see that it uses some sort of limiters on the sides of the wheel. I think those could be of use here, but I didn't want to bloat the construction. It already works better than I thought it would.
@AWESOMENESS360 yep, that's what I meant. Unfortunately the game's engine can't handle fuselage blocks spinning that fast and it just starts to crumble.
@OrangeBoardEnterprise it's pretty simple actually. But it will be easier to show: http://i.imgur.com/mLuEsCk.gif. Here I press 1 to detach the "tyre" and press 8 to extend the wheels so they can support it. The bottom pair of wheels is powered by car engine, and it rotates the "tyre" - pretty much how tank tracks work.
Hey! I made some nice hubless wheels and I'm going to put one on this bike and upload it as a successor. I will make it shorter and remove some excessive parts but it still will be recognizable. Hope you don't mind :) Because I suck at making cool bikes and, especially, human figures.
@0n33 how is it possible?
@Kitten777 no :) If only they could repel each other... Maybe some kind of a rail gun? I think it may work
Haha, that's awesome!
@enzoBoeing757 oh got it, hang on I'm gonna upload a new one and give you complete explanation

This is so cool!

@shipster I mean, thanks! :)
@shipster oh crap, I never thought about it! :D

+1@SnoWFLakE0s I hope it will!
I'm not a fan of guns, but this one definitely deserves an upvote!
I really like the fact that it is rotated by the gears. It is so unnecessary complication but it's what gives the build so much charm!
+1I know it's been 9 month, but I have some thoughts on why it won't work and let me know if you'd like to hear them. Looks beautiful though!

@Supernovaboss504 will definitely check it out!
@AWESOMENESS360 it also start to tremble pretty badly on anything above 23-25 mph
@AWESOMENESS360 yep, that's what I meant. Unfortunately the game's engine can't handle fuselage blocks spinning that fast and it just starts to crumble.
@grizzlitn thank you for upvote!
@AWESOMENESS360 thank you! I wish it could be faster. And huge thank you for upvote and the spotlight!
