I put the whole catapult as a subassembly and launched my glider with it. It is surprisingly effective besides the fact that my glider is very slow, so it has high drag.
@oldmate52 also the key is set the detacher delay to 0.4 seconds, force to 100%, and start it and move VTOL lever down to the bottom of the screen as fast as you can. It will fire very far.
the perfect delay for the most lateral launch is 0.46 seconds, which can be good at launching airplanes, because it fires at around 1100kts. 0.4 seconds is the perfect delay for the farthest launch, which can be good for launching bombs at a distant target. And 0.7 seconds is the perfect delay for a brutal ground slam, which can be good for stress testing indestructible crafts.
@Joelreid what, the MAK 26? Read the instructions before you try again. Also it is built for maneuverability, so of course it spins fast when you pitch up. Plus it is VTOL only so it probably blows up if you try to land it like a normal plane, because its landing gears are just legs and they do not have wheels. I can fly the MAK 26 perfectly fine and it is very powerful. Read. The. Instructions!

Uncontrollable is when you cannot control the aircraft at all. The MAK’s spinning while pitching could be easily stopped by releasing the pitch input.
