@jamesPLANESii Performance cost is an attempt to measure the computational intensity of a craft in terms of straight blocks. For example, if a craft has a performance cost of 500, then you might expect it to affect framerate about the same as a craft that was made of 500 straight blocks. It's still very much just an estimate, but hopefully, it is a better estimate than part count.
Each part type has a constant performance cost associated with it. Some part types have an additional cost depending on their settings. For example, wings will have more performance cost if they are larger because that requires more sections of wing physics. Bladed engines have additional cost with each blade. Labels cost more if they use expressions.
Thanks for letting us know. I have bought a (used) Chromebook that reproduces the issue and we will investigate and see if there's anything we can do to fix the issue. It's difficult when platforms have a sliding window of supported devices, but we'll see what we can do.
@BeastHunter yes, we are making a special version just for Oculus Quest devices so you can play it without a PC. That version will be available on the Oculus Quest store through their App Lab program. We'll post more about that later.
If you rename your AN2Felllla account to something else like AN2FellllaOld, you can remove the Previously Known as entry for AN2Felllla from that account and then rename your primary account to AN2Felllla. However, your SR2 account will then be AN2FellllaOld. There's no way to join your current AN2Felllla SR2 account with your current JamesieMcPlanesieThe2st SP account.
Next time it crashes, can you send us the player.log file? You can find it by going to the Files app -> SimplePlanes. Or, even more helpful might be to send us the _ _ editor _ _ file under SimplePlanes -> AircraftDesigns.
After this happens again, can you get us your player.log file? You can find it in the Files app under SimplePlanes. Please, email that to us at games@jundroo.com
@sheepsblood You don't have the newest version, which is 1.10.105. Try closing Steam and reopening. Sometimes Steam won't grab the update right away, but that will force it. (Also make sure you are on the beta branch).
@Brields95 No, this beta just has a small number of changes because we are about ready to finally release v1.10. Ideally, each round of beta should have fewer and fewer changes as we get ready for release.
@Gameboi14 Thank you. Your device has an Intel Celeron N3050, which has an x86 architecture. Since we removed x86 architecture, I'm not surprised you are having issues. Actually, I am surprised the game runs at all. I'll talk with Nathan about this when we get back from the winter break (Jan 2nd) and see what, if anything, we can do.
@Brields95 He has, but not much. He's less interested in building and generally prefers more realistic flight sims, such as DCS, X-Plane and MS Flight Simulator.
@MephilesTheDark We stream the tournament live on Twitch and then we upload the video to YouTube when it's over. We started doing this before YouTube had streaming. Maybe someday we'll just do it all on YT.
Hmmm, not sure. Did you request the desktop version of the site? If so you should be able to just close that tab and open up a new one and download it.
I removed the MaxRpm rule that was eliminating a few players. I looked into it a bit more and the violations were a problem with our upgrade code that updates a prop engine to version 1.8.305. The violations were also just barely above the expected RPM and I don't think that will cause an issue in an unlimited tournament with jet engines. I plan to re-enable it in future tournaments. In order to avoid the max RPM issue in the future, you should replace your airplane's prop engines with a brand new prop engine from the part list.
I just ran a notification check on all current submissions. If you did not receive a notification then your design is okay for the tournament. No news is good news.
@CoolPeach I agree. I just pushed an update that will now allow you to refresh your video's thumbnail from YouTube. You can also now edit your video title and provide a custom thumbnail (if you have > 1,000 points).
Nice plane. I tried it in VR and the only problem I have is the cockpit camera is too low and too far back. I can't reach any of the controls.
