This craft is not large enough to be affected by the drag calculation optimization made in 1.8 (its volume is about 10x too small). You can try using the Overload mod to disable drag on the offending parts until your craft is balanced the way that you want it to be. The dragScale and calculateDrag xml properties were created for this purpose.
@enzoBoeing757 It's very difficult for me to keep things straight when I'm responding to across different posts because I don't know where we started this conversation. It might be best if you just email us at games@jundroo.com
@CALVIN232 Unfortunately we don't have any kind of zoom sensitivity options in SimplePlanes, but some devices have software that might let you customize that. I think Logitech does, but not certain. You could also try poking around in Windows and see if you can tweak it. Maybe try something like this?
If you are using mods, try disabling them and see if that helps. Also, make sure your system is up to date with video card drivers and Windows updates.
Did you get SimplePlanes from the Mac App Store or from Steam? What version of SimplePlanes are you using (you can check in the About page in the main menu in SimplePlanes).
@breitling I've been looking into it this morning and it appears that Unity doesn't work properly on OSX 10.9.5 even though they to claim to support OSX 10.8+. Are you not able to update to OSX 10.10? You can also try downgrading SimplePlanes to the 1.7 branch in the BETAS tab in the Steam client's Properties window for SimplePlanes until you are able to update to OSX 10.10.
@CRJ900Pilot I just downloaded BogdanX's mig and it appears to work correctly in the newest version from the Mac App Store. Let me know if you are still seeing the issue.
@CRJ900Pilot New version is now approved. Let me know if the internet and joysticks are working for you now. Do you have a link for a plane that has the tail hook problem?
@CRJ900Pilot That should also be fixed in the next update as well. I submitted to Apple this morning, so hopefully tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience.
@Efacel Yes, I tried the sample plane. I could see that the prop diameter was 1259 when first loaded, but when I opened the part properties it only allowed me to change the diameter between 50" and 150".
We are not able to reproduce this in the latest version of SimplePlanes on iOS. When I load this plane I am able to change its blade diameter from 50 inches to 150 inches. Does this only happen on your tablet? Is your tablet running the latest version of SimplePlanes?
Could we get an output_log.txt file from a run where the game did not crash? I'm sorry for all the trouble but thank you so much for sticking with me and troubleshooting.
@Looney Then that's certainly the core issue here. I'm assuming verifying integrity didn't help anything? Maybe try restarting your device and uninstall and reinstall. Also does your Windows 10 have the latest updates? Do you have any issues with other Unity games?
@Looney Yes, it looks very glitchy. What language is your device using? I thought maybe it was a language encoding glitch with Pastebin. I also noticed it mentioned Unity 5.3.6 and the newest version of SimplePlanes uses Unity 2018.3. I thought maybe Steam's CDN didn't deliver the correct version of some of the files (their CDN has been having some issues today), so that's why I recommended verifying integrity.
I've never seen an issue like this before, but I will ask the team if they've seen it. One thing you can try is verifying the integrity of the game files:
Open Steam client
Right-click SimplePlanes and select Properties
Go to the Local Files tab
Click VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES
You might also try disabling Steam Cloud Sync in the UPDATES tab while you're in that properties window. After that, try renaming your SimplePlanes data folder to SimplePlanes.Backup. Let me know if that makes any difference. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but I've never worked through this particular issue before.
Your SimplePlanes data folder is here:
%userprofile%\AppData\LocalLow\Jundroo
Just rename it to SimplePlanes.Backup and that will force SimplePlanes to recreate it on the next run.
While you are running, you can try deleting (or renaming) your __editor__.xml file and that should hopefully get you past this issue. You can find it here:
I'm really sorry about the interruption yesterday. Our service provider was (obviously) having some issues. I was going to wait to hear back from them before responding, but they haven't responded to my support ticket yet. It does appear that we have lost data from yesterday. It is highly doubtful that it will be recoverable, but I will let you know if they are able to recover any of it.
I see now that you are on Android. Unfortunately it won't be possible to get a log file from your device. Does the game work if you uninstall and reinstall? Note that you will lose planes on your device if you uninstall, so be sure to back up your planes to a PC before doing so.
@DrunkenRaider @ShockRF
After you experience the issue again, please upload your log file to Pastebin.com and give us the link. You can find your log file here:
We are currently focusing on SimpleRockets 2, but I have added this to the list to investigate the next time we are actively working on SimplePlanes.
Can you send your log file to games@jundroo.com so we can investigate? You can find your log file here:
%userprofile%\appdata\locallow\Jundroo\SimplePlanes\output_log.txt
Try restarting your device and try downloading again. Also, what airplane are you trying to download and what kind of iOS device are you using?

@enzoBoeing757 What device are you playing on?
@hobbitfrog Updated! Good luck!
@hobbitfrog Sure, can you provide a link to the challenge?
@O5c444r It should be fixed in 1.8.6 and 1.8.305.
Did you get SimplePlanes from the Mac App Store or from Steam? What version of SimplePlanes are you using (you can check in the About page in the main menu in SimplePlanes).
@Gravity Yes, you can now select older versions of SimplePlanes through the BETAS tab in the Steam properties window for SimplePlanes.

@CRJ900Pilot iOS or Android? I'm using version 1.8.3.1 on iOS and the arresting hook looks correct on BogdanX's Mig.
@CRJ900Pilot I just downloaded BogdanX's mig and it appears to work correctly in the newest version from the Mac App Store. Let me know if you are still seeing the issue.
@CRJ900Pilot Thanks for letting me know. Does your joystick work now?
@AndrewGarrison Thanks for letting me know. Does your joystick work now?
Edit: Yep, I tagged myself. Probably should go get some sleep at this point...

@ACEPILOT109 what kind of iPad? Have you tried restarting the device?
@MageBear @StuffBuilder what version of macOS are you using?
Are you using anti-virus software? Maybe try adding an exception for SimplePlanes.exe.

Also, I'm a bit confused. This looks like an immediate crash, but you were in the designer in the video. How often does it crash on startup?

I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble with our game. What device are you playing on and what app store did you purchase SimplePlanes from?
Are you using mods?
@Nerfenthusiast thanks for still playing our 4 year old game!
@Brields95 the terrible changes I made to the chase camera should be reverted so it will now work the same as it did in 1.7.
@GeneralOliverVonBismarck unfortunately they were not able to recover any data. Here is my comment with their response.

@kerothehero What is the new bug?

@freedompilot98 Can you provide more info with the mouse as joystick not working?
Would it be possible to get your log file?
Are you getting any errors in your dev console? Would it be possible to get your log file?
@KaigunChujo Do you have mods? If you disable all mods are you still seeing the texture issues?
@ShockRF Can we get your log file?
@nef860 can you provide more info about the font issue with the part transform tool?
@Tommy5939 Do you have any additional information regarding the crashing?
