  • **BETA** GLASS FUSELAGE DEEMED NUMBER ONE KILLER OF PLANES 4.6 years ago

    Yeah I know what he means, but whenever any part breaks in SP all the hinges and stuff get messed up, not just for glass. @Pita
    Personally I’ve broken glass before and not had my entire craft become uncontrollable, so I think it might be related something else.

  • **BETA** GLASS FUSELAGE DEEMED NUMBER ONE KILLER OF PLANES 4.6 years ago

    This is not just an issue with glass blocks, albeit they may be easier to break and hence why it may seem like they are the cause. It’s been happening for years now, just a thing with the physics engine.

  • Regarding Mass Tagging 4.6 years ago

    What happened to the follow button? Mass tagging is simply redundant regardless of whether it is requested or not.

  • The entire SP Community will probably hate me for this, but... 4.6 years ago

    This is not hate per say, as I actually more or less agree with some of the points you mentioned, but picking out a specific user and calling their builds bad is just kinda 'douchey'. Better to generalise it or make it anonymous.

  • Heads Up Display 4.6 years ago

    Hmmm, I definitely think the huge number of moving parts increases the lag tremendously, maybe I’ll just have all the numbers be static and only include the attitude and horizon lines in the centre and the heading. The only issue with having the numbers static is that it’s sometimes hard to make them out. Im replicating the HUD from the F-16C
    @Mattangi2

  • Heads Up Display 4.6 years ago

    This is really neat, was looking around for HUD designs for my recent build when I saw this. Would it be ok if I used the basic concept of this hud in one of my builds? I’ll credit you obviously.

  • [TEASER] "Mighty Mighty Mo" 4.8 years ago

    Here’s a diagram
    Link
    @CRJ900Pilot

  • [TEASER] "Mighty Mighty Mo" 4.8 years ago

    The largest system is the secondary/CIWS fire control system. It has a system that shows the distance to where the shells will land, but unlike the main battery which can only fire on targets on the ground, the secondary system needed a height component for planes. So you can also set the target height and the system will calculate the line of sight distance for the shells to hit a target at that height depending on the angle of the guns. It probably sounds more complicated then it actually is, would be better on a diagram. It’s just really long because SP doesn’t have variable storage, so I end up copy pasting the code for the variables over and over again in the final expression. @CRJ900Pilot

  • [TEASER] "Mighty Mighty Mo" 4.8 years ago

    She runs ok on my computer, but I feel like its actually the sheer size of the FT code on the gun systems that’s causing the most lag lol. @CRJ900Pilot

  • [TEASER] "Mighty Mighty Mo" 4.8 years ago

    Thanks, sure is in the thousands, 2500 as of now, looking like 3000. I absolutely demolished my original part limit of 2000, but that just wasn’t possible with what I wanted to include ahaha. @CRJ900Pilot

  • [TEASER] "Mighty Mighty Mo" 4.8 years ago

    I could enter it in, but there’s no way I could finish before then, still have to detail the rear and build the tomahawk Missile launchers and harpoon missiles. I checked out ur recent build btw, much better, though u should use the dampermultiplier property on all rotators on such a large build cause the aa guns are still super wobbly. But good work nonetheless, she looks good. @HawaiiRanger

  • [TEASER] "Mighty Mighty Mo" 4.8 years ago

    2500 right now, tho I think it will hit 3000 though which is a lot. My original goal was 2000 parts, but I seriously underestimated how large the damn ship was. @Davisplanez

    Excellent work, flies very nicely and looks beautiful. Certainly one of the best P-51’s on the site!

  • OK this is like the last straw. 4.9 years ago

    James is right, presentation is everything. When I started I had nothing and the community was already pretty well established. I only had the extremely limited mobile screenshot capabilities to use. But I picked good/eye catching colours and made sure that my plane filled the picture. I know you hate that because it’s against your “principles”, but the facts don’t care about that at all, it’s been proven to be more effective. Sure some of my planes were popular, but some certainly weren’t and most did quite well. Present your planes with better colours (the green you are using is not nice, maybe make it less matte?), fill the space, present from good angles.

  • WHAT IF I? 4.9 years ago

    It depends how many parts you want to use. You could do bogdan’s way, but that only works well if you mask it with paint. You could try that concave fuselage thing, but I’ve found that’s it’s really hard to get it to match any shape you want. You could also do it it like my F-16 or Xanavis panelling, just with hard edged fuselage blocks for the concave section and regular circular edged fuselages for the convex shapes. @ChisP

  • WHAT IF I? 4.9 years ago

    You probably need to use more parts on the cockpit to get it smoother, and just on the fuselage in general.

    Bruh read the damn description, tail gear doesnt function cause that’s what it was like. And it pulls to the right as a result of engine torque, perhaps a bit much, but its still tremendous attention to detail. @JamesBleriot
