@DerpyCookie17 you have plenty of time to fix anything. Dont be hurry and try to make a good job! Of course u can use anything from the challenge aircraft. I put it there for inspiration amd and help.
@BogdanX You are absolutely right. The role of an MPA is to detect and monitor naval targets but modern naval warfare dictates MPAs to be able to destroy surface targets with modern anti-ship missiles. I will NOT judge ur aircraft if it can sink all the ships but I will appreciate such a capability. BUT, if ur weapons are sophisticated and easy to use u can get the points from there. I look for nice aircrafts with many extra features and aesthetically nice.
U just used the challenge example aircraft without changing nothing...not even the colors. It's disqualified. Also, having two accounts its forbidden by the rules of SP.
Its a nice try but rules are rules. Aircraft is less than 100 parts so it's disqualified. Maybe u can try and built another plane, not a fighter one. Maybe try and experiment with the plane that is included in the challenge post.
@danman12 Dogfighting its another mission totally irrelevant of that Challenge. Your aircraft has to be properly designed and equiped for long loiter time and fleet detection and destroyment. So, no dogfights but fighter-type planes are allowed. Use that rule wisely
@pilotred233 each contestant can upload up to 3 planes in the challenge. But u can delete ur previous one and upload a new one. No problem with that. Auto-roll is anoying though.
@pilotred233 Keep in mind that the hardpoints u already have are 8 and are NOT in internal weapons bay. So ur max number of "underwing" pylons are reached. If u want to add more pylons u should build an internal weapons bay and put them there. Rules are pretty clear.
@pilotred233 The map is just a tool for me to test the operational limits of all the aircrafts. Yes, its quite hard and almost all the aircrafts fail to respond but thats not the objective.
@Baldovino Its my pleasure to do so but you are a platinum player and Im just a gold one. I feel Im kinda "inadequate" to judge you. Anyway, ur chopper looks nice but it has some design flaws. First the two tandem rotors are quite close to each other. See some Chinook photos and re-arrange them. Also, try to re-configure the flight controls, cause its hard to fly and steer once airborne. Its easier to control up-down with throttle and not VTOL and make turning easier. Another thing is the detailing. A player of ur caliber should add many details (lights, rotor hinges, camouflage, guns, sensors, etc). Hope I helped u. Have fun and thanks for asking my opinion.
@Carbonfox1 usually MPAs are based on airliners or cargo aircrafts. If u choose to build a fighter have in mind that u got to fit all the equivalent sonar/electro-optical equipment plus the weapons. It must be a well designed aircraft with many features...
@DerpyCookie17 u can arm any plane with any weapon. But, in judging process ur aircraft will be assessed for its time of deployment and equivalent equipment.
@DerpyCookie17 OK, it seems that u got really confused. Lets take it easy.
1) 8 wing pylons for armament are allowed. Probably, 4 under each wing.
2) if ur plane has an internal weapons bay (like the P-3C Orion) then its allowed another 6 pylons for armament.
-So far we got 8 + 6 = 14 pylons max allowed.
Now, because its an MPA u can put max 30 sonobuoys that will be designed by u. Google it for more info and how they look.
3) the aircraft can be fictional or replica. It doesn't matter. Catalina is ok.
4) no need to put heavy missiles on it. U can use also free-fall bombs or torpedoes.
@Zeruak Max permissible underwing pylons is 8. You got 12 pylons under the wings. Please re-design it. You can move the weapons to the internal weapons bay where the rules say max 6 pylons. You got room there. Sorry for the inconvenience but rules are rules. Thank u for participating!
@ZYHUnited u can put up to 8 pylons under the wings (4 + 4)
If u also have an internal weapons bay, then u can put another 6 pylons there
If u want to arm ur aircraft with sonobuoys (common armament of MPA) then u can add up to 30 of these.
So, in total u can put 8 + 6 = 14 pylons for missiles/torpedoes/bombs etc and 30 extra sonobuoys.
@asteroidbook345 XML moding is almost necessary in order to create aesthetically nice and aerodynamically stable aircrafts. XML its not a basic/primary judgement criterion.
@F104Deathtrap I emphasize on modern aircrafts and modern air-to-surface warfare tactics. Also, guns and canons can be part of the aircraft as long as they are defensive and not attack equipment. Except fighter aircarfts.
@mikoyanster Thank u very much. Here is the link for a detailed image as u instructed me https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uzkLRK63-WIAX8BSWh6T5zSOiGqRzp2V/view?usp=drivesdk
In the right part write Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) Challenge.
Thank u a lot!
Thats a great design, even better from the swept wing. You have a great potential and this build proves that. I have just a couple of notes to highlight:
1) The landing gear is quite aft of the CoM and thus making takeoff harder.
2) The internal weapons bay could be in tandem configuration in the centerline axis.
3) Where are the flaps??? This beast needs flaps for low-speed handling.
@Sgtk This is a great aircraft with a lot of potential. Im working on a Maritime Patrol platform and I have tested many planes here. Your design looks promising and has a great handling. If it was a little bigger (length ~70ft and wingspan ~85ft) I would consider it seriously as my next maritime patrol and ASW aircraft.
@poopatron71 Aircraft is within rules. Good luck!
@Rodrigo110 why make an armoured vehicle in an MPA challenge???
Aircraft is within rules. Good luck!
@Rodrigo110 Sorry but health xml-modding is out of rules. I don't think that this feature affects ur design that much...
@DerpyCookie17 you have plenty of time to fix anything. Dont be hurry and try to make a good job! Of course u can use anything from the challenge aircraft. I put it there for inspiration amd and help.
@DerpyCookie17 what's wrong mate? What did u do? I cannot find any plane of urs to my challenge...
@JQ Why ur aircraft is NOT a successor of this post? Rules say it clear. Pls try again and if u got any problem just tell me.
@DeezDucks the weapons and armament rule has been slightly modificated. Weapons are appreciated but NOT required.
U just used the challenge example aircraft without changing nothing...not even the colors. It's disqualified. Also, having two accounts its forbidden by the rules of SP.
@Razor3278 Yes you can mod the missiles and yes u can use MER but be careful that missiles do not hit each other or interfere with fuselage/wings.
Its a nice try but rules are rules. Aircraft is less than 100 parts so it's disqualified. Maybe u can try and built another plane, not a fighter one. Maybe try and experiment with the plane that is included in the challenge post.
Aircraft is within regulations. Is this ur final design or u will upload another one with minor fixes?
Aircraft is within regulations. Good luck!
@pilotred233 Yes u can do that.
@hopotumon Aircraft is within rules. Good luck!
@COENTHETESTPILOT its 6000 gal. Six thousand gallons. In Europe we write 6.000 instead of 6,000. Good luck!
Aircraft is ok with the rules. Good luck.
@danman12 Dogfighting its another mission totally irrelevant of that Challenge. Your aircraft has to be properly designed and equiped for long loiter time and fleet detection and destroyment. So, no dogfights but fighter-type planes are allowed. Use that rule wisely

Aircrafe meet the rules. Its ok. Good luck aviator!
@DestinyAviation Yes it's ok. Rules allow that.
@Carbonfox1 usually MPAs are based on airliners or cargo aircrafts. If u choose to build a fighter have in mind that u got to fit all the equivalent sonar/electro-optical equipment plus the weapons. It must be a well designed aircraft with many features...
Now its ok. Good luck!
@mikoyanster check this nicely done Super Puma
@F104Deathtrap It's ok. Just remember to add detailed instruction in description.
@DerpyCookie17 weapons must be attached to hardpoints. I think that's quite clear.
@DerpyCookie17 8 max on wings and 6 max in bomb bay. Simple and clear. Also, AEW its a different role. this is MPA so we talk about ASW/ASuW role.
@1918 very nice aircraft with a lot of potential! If u r interested in my challenge u can participate with an AL2-21 variant!
@DerpyCookie17 u can arm any plane with any weapon. But, in judging process ur aircraft will be assessed for its time of deployment and equivalent equipment.

@ZYHUnited its an acoustic torpedo for sonic detection of submarines. See that for detailed info
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonobuoy
@ZYHUnited u can put up to 8 pylons under the wings (4 + 4)
If u also have an internal weapons bay, then u can put another 6 pylons there
If u want to arm ur aircraft with sonobuoys (common armament of MPA) then u can add up to 30 of these.

@ZYHUnited of course!
@RYANF34 you download the challenge post and start building on it. When u will post it, it will automaticially be classified as successor.
@arcues seaplanes CAN compete as long as they have retractable landing gear and are ok with other rules too.
@CRJ900Pilot Yes, it's eligible. Marginal but acceptable. Go on my friend!
@Marine A true beast and a marvel of modern engineering! U nearly exploded my laptop, hehehe!!!
@mikoyanster Thank u very much. Here is the link for a detailed image as u instructed me https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uzkLRK63-WIAX8BSWh6T5zSOiGqRzp2V/view?usp=drivesdk

Thank u a lot!
@mikoyanster That could be very helpfull and thoughtfull of u. So, u can prepare the challenge image and upload it as unlisted for me to use?
