  • F-16C Block 52+ 5.5 years ago

    Aww iz cute :3
    .
    Actually reminds me a lot of my F-16 build since it appears to share some building techniques. Yours probably has fewer parts than mine though lel

  • Messerschmitt Bf-109B-2 5.5 years ago

    @CRJ900Pilot Totally intentional ;)

  • Grumman F-14A Tomcat 5.6 years ago

    @AerialFighterSnakes F :'(
    .
    That scene is exactly the sort of thing the F-14A was plagued with; the TF-30s weren't able to handle the kind of maneuvering the Tomcat would be doing. Fly just wrong and the compressor blades would stall and the engine lost all power.
    .
    THANKFULLY the later F-14A+/F-14B got the new GE F-110 and that problem went away.

    There's a raging fire in the sky tonight!
    Going higher and higher in my soul!
    There's a raging fire in my heart tonight!
    I wanna ride on the silver dove far into the night!
    'Til I make you take me on your mighty wings?
    Make you, take me, out on your mighty wings across the sky!
    Take me on your mighty wings!
    Take me on your mighty wings tonight!

    ...I get 'cha. ;)

  • General Dynamics F-16C Fighting Falcon 5.6 years ago

    @ViciousTNT Nah. There's a mod for that. Only works with earlier game builds

  • DesignerSuite 5.6 years ago

    @WNP78 I get ya. 'S all good; I think what I was expecting was that the images would stick on that view, but only when I was roughly looking straight at it (give or take a few degrees) it would reappear.

    So for example I could have a top view, but only looking at the top of the build would reveal the image. The same would repeat for a side, front, etc. That way if I wanted to check the dimensions of the replica from multiple angles, I could. This is still extremely useful though.

  • Sukhoi Su-27P Flanker-B 5.6 years ago

    @Datboi1234 Yeah :/ Sorry about that.

    I think the updated model linked in the description might be a little better.

  • Mig-29C 5.6 years ago

    Very nice. Better than my MiG-29 X) I like the ejection function.

  • SimpleWings 5.6 years ago

    I see you also used my MiG-29. :) Very cool; I'll mess around with this and see what I can do with it.

    @SovietBias Nah, that's just the Advanced Targeting Mod. Helps make aiming the guns and bombs easier.

  • General Dynamics F-16C Fighting Falcon 5.6 years ago

    @SakuraSaku They took it down. Dunno when.

  • General Dynamics F-16C Fighting Falcon 5.6 years ago

    @Kungfuevan Maybe. It'll definitely challenge me with my skill level, but I'm open. The TVC will the most fun part. ;)

  • General Dynamics F-16C Fighting Falcon 5.6 years ago

    @Kungfuevan The user Gestour used to have a mod that contained 3D models of an F-16 and F-22. I still have it, so I took the model and sized it to the real dimensions, then put it on top of my build and matched all the panels, wings, blocks, etc. as close as I could. The result is this; easily my most accurate build yet shape-wise.

    I'm majoring in Mechanical Engineering right now.

    Fulcrum is made of pure Stalinium, mixed with Kruschev Alloy. Engines built from pure Gorbachovium. Indestructable. Fire extinguisher unneeded Frrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriend. Extra Vodka welcome.

    On a serious note I'm surprised Russia liked the name 'Fulcrum.'

  • 1950-1960 Tournament F-100D Super Sabre 5.6 years ago

    Kinda reminds of the Super Sabre I rebuilt recently. :) Been thinking of entering that contest, but I'm not sure what I wanna enter.

  • North American F-100D Super Sabre 5.6 years ago

    @AceOfSpade Sure, sure :)

  • North American F-100D Super Sabre 5.6 years ago

    @CovenantSlayer The XML is mostly to make the missiles behave in a more realistic manner. I DID in fact use that trick, but I also modified the XML file for the missiles to connect all of the fuselage blocks and panels to the detatcher (I trick I used from mikoyanster's video on custom missiles.) I think that's what you're referring to?

    MAYBE one day I'll do an F-22A. I'm not super comfy with the lines on that jet and don't consider myself quite that skilled yet. One day.

  • North American F-100D Super Sabre 5.6 years ago

    @ChiChiWerx I found a doc page from a couple SP mod makers that listed out all the various XML bits that one can use. I actually was fine using the stock missiles as they are but I found some custom missiles by another user and decided to try my hand at it finally.

    One of the XML 'commands' you can use for missiles is function, which is what defines the missile types as A2A or A2A. I guess manually typing which you want overrides their original state.

    Using the Infernos for the base of the sidewinders was for one reason only; I want to be able to use multiple missiles. I've mapped out in my head:
    Guardians for Semi-Active homing
    Inferno for IR guided/All Aspect
    Interceptor for fire-and-forget, so no change there.

    Rocket pods don't use the XML commands for missiles; the doc explicitly shows such. Link here:

    @AceOfSpade I mean I'd love to do AC stuff. I've been messing around with a Morgan-esque thing. I'll have to think about the Nosferatu, but maybe the Wyvern will get a chance to shine.

    @AerialFighterSnakes Naturally that's the fuel, K o m r a d e

  • Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29A 5.6 years ago

    @Shippy456 I use a Dell Laptop w/ Core i3 (other specs I don't remember and I'm too lazy to look them up lel). I certainly can download and use high part builds but my computer slows to a crawl and may even crash entirely. I just avoid big builds these days; if I had a decent desktop I'd have no issues at all with doing higher part counts.

  • Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-29A 5.6 years ago

    @Shippy456 I usually forgo high-detail and just use the minimum of pieces to get an accurate general outline (oxymoronic, thinking about it). My computer also can't run high part count builds. I'm guessing around 300-400 parts is starting to push it, but I haven't tested that yet.

    In general if I can get away with using a fairly large piece for a section of the build, I will. I'll also mess with the size of the ends and their corner types.

    @ChiChiWerx Yeah, I need to start doing that. I've got the F-14 waiting to be built and the -16 and -15 to rebuild. Maybe for those.

  • Sukhoi Su-27P Flanker-B 5.7 years ago

    @OhMerde
    I just do it by feel. I dump the nose down for maybe half a second (probably -30 degree or slightly less), then brake and yank back until it starts to slide. Not exactly how you really do it as far as I know, but that's worked fine for me.
