F-5 fuselage is supposed to get thinner and then flare out again, like a Coca-Cola bottle. It's a design feature known as "area rule" and you can see it clearly in this photo.
Interesting design! Wings and fins look functional, fuselage is well constructed. The exhaust vents look extremely cool. The only thing I don't like is the nose, it's too small to house the sensors needed for such a plane and its downward bend forces the nose landing gear to be too long. Overall, very impressive work. I'm looking forward to seeing more from you.
@Numbers My point here is that when people say they wish they lived in the past, what they are really saying is that they don't understand the past very well at all.
@KnightOfRen Creeping on people's messages is cringe. Constantly doing stuff to get yourself banned is cringe. Stirring up drama by posting about banned people? Cringe. Hell,I'mcringe just for commenting on this.
@Rodrigo110 The first half of the 20th century involved a level of violence and death never seen anywhere else in human experience. In the 1950's, Chairman Mao presided over the largest mass murder ever perpetrated. There were horrific wars in China, Korea and Vietnam. Trust me when I say that today less people starve, less people die needlessly of curable disease and the standard of living is up almost everywhere.
Whenever people talk about "the good old days" I always respond with the question, "Good for who?" It's hard to look at your life and consider the fact that others don't have it so good, but chances are that is exactly the case. Unless you happen to wish yourself into a considerable amount of affluence, the 1950's would be a pretty rough time to be alive.
To me, the main thing for these kind of aircraft is reliability, survivability and range. The first two are obvious, the third contains more than it seems. Not only does range allow an individual plane to carry out missions over a wider area and permit more flexibility when it comes to airbases, it also allows for loiter time. Loitering is when the aircraft circles near the battle front. It is able to strike quickly when needed, often repeatedly, and to carefully make each attack. Planes with shorter ranges are forced into a "use me or lose me" situation, where troops must designate targets ahead of time, wait a considerable amount of time for the air strike to arrive, and then the plane immediately returns to base. Only planes designed with considerably long range are able to stay close to the tropps, and it is one of the reasons traditional fighters are not ideal in the role of close air support.
@HappyFeetWhyshouldi That's cause I waited a long time to start uploading. My first build is called "Thunderchicken" and I uploaded it when I turned gold.
Mig-17 is often regarded as the most lovely of the early jets. By replacing the wings and adding an afterburner to the Mig-15, MiG engineers created a plane both faster and more maneuverable, but still had the simplicity and easy handling of the original.
@FishMiner Beware angry Brazillians! In defense of the Wrights, their early flying machines were much more maneuverable than other pioneering aviators. Their first visit to France was a revelation to the european enthusiasts.
@SavageMan It had to do with a variety of issues, some from the plane, most from politics. It was a difficult plane to fly and its safety features were not up to it, at first. For example, it had a downward firing ejector seat that meant accidents during takeoff and landing (where most accidents happen) would doom the pilot. Eventually, Lockheed would fix most of the issues one way or another but by then other problems emerged. With the Airforce not buy very many Starfighters, Lockheed bribed international politicians to use the F-104 in ways it was ill suited, ground attack for example. Export fighters should be reliable and easy to learn, F-104 was neither. It wasnt a bad design, it was used the wrong way.
@KnightOfRen Eventually the redesigned Delta became a better interceptor than the Starfighters in US service. However, the Voodoo never closed the gap in terms of speed and had similar issues in terms of maneuverability as the F-104 and it lacked reliable air-to-air weapons (unless you count nuclear missiles, lol). As I've said before, the only really great Century series plane was the F-105 Thunderchief in my opinion.
@KnightOfRen Why else would I call it a death trap? It killed dozens of its own pilots every single year it was in service, except in Italy for some reason.
I played it for about a year, spent most of my time mining asteroid cores in my Python. I can say with confidence that Elite: Dangerous is the best VR sim out there. No other sim does VR as well.
Harpoons are anti-ship missiles, and they're effective, but they're not true cruise missiles in the strategic sense. You can't flatten an installation with them like you could with a Raduga Kh-22. Incidentally, my most recent upload features player-guided Kh-22 missiles. Check it out.
Thank you for not posting this at night.
@MIAW26PERSIAN Good luck with your plane
@MIAW26PERSIAN Imgur wont work properly. Use another source. Post it like this "![](image url)"
Here's one you can use.

Nobody cares about a wall of text. Use exciting photos and screenshots!
Play the tutorial
@Knesb3 You have to move the engine forward a little in the builder. It used to work but for some reason now its screwy.
@SuperRoto No one ever expects the Polish Cropduster!

PZL M15 BELPHEGOR
This reminds me of DOOMBA
@MrKoT It looks really good. I like how you did the tail, it's so smooth
Whoa! What an awesome replica of one of my favorites! It's so smooth, too. Hell yeah!
I wish more people built stuff this good. Nice work!

+1@KnightOfRen Thanks
I always love a good Fishbed
+1@KnightOfRen Sure, it's a rough year compared to other years in our lives.
@Numbers My point here is that when people say they wish they lived in the past, what they are really saying is that they don't understand the past very well at all.
+1@Redisnotsusguys Turn it sideways and what do you have?
You're going to want to space those exhaust nozzles a bit more carefully.
+1You've just described helicopter rotors.
@KnightOfRen I know, I'm being mean. I'll shut up. Sorry everybody.
