@RamboJutter Well, I figure I owe it to people. Replicas get a bad name around here, considering how often they overshadow the fictional builds. I try to shine a little light on history, hoping someone might learn something, by making planes that look and perform as close to the real thing as I can make them.
My new challenge is to try to make them look good but still run on phones. Mixed results so far.
@Ephwurd I make replicas, but I try to put an outrageous amount of effort into it and mostly stick to stuff that hasn't been on the front page in a long, long time.
Scifi builds like this deserve more love than they get.
I would recommend using "flat" colors. They hide defects and are probably more similar to the improvised camo applied to it in real life. I'm considering doing a camo build next, but I'm scared. I've never done one either!
@Zandgard Just a warning about flying boats: they have a high center of thrust (to keep the engines away from the water) and that makes them nose-heavy. With the engines up so high, they pull the top forward and the nose down.
To fight that, you need big strong elevators. But it won't fly level unless you also angle the horizontal tail leading edge downward 2 or 3 degress. That way the tail is always pulling the nose up a little bit just like the engines are always pulling down. You'll have to trial and error it a bit to get the feel right but it's totally fixable.
Look at planes other people have uploaded, grab one you like and tear it apart to see what it's made of. That works in real life, too but you gotta watch out for the cops.
@QingyuZhou I dunno man, your Huey has over 3,600 downloads and only 67 votes. I highly doubt that only 2% of the people who downloaded that thing liked it enough to upvote. More likely, most of them just don't have accounts.
@jasonboren56 Yeah, the wings are probably too small to provide good lift for low speed. Flaps could help, or lengthening the wings. But thats all nitpicking, this is a very nice looking plane.
It really bothers me when big contributors delete their account and thus, all their content. I understand they have the right to do so, but it seems pretty messed up to me.
Fun fact, this thing crashes my game each tine I try to fly it. I can still load it into the builder though, so I'm almost done the engine and I'll throw in a pair of custom props no extra charge. You'll have to mod the engine strength of the props to fit your final product using xtml modding only because if you to to modify them in the builder they will bug out. Feel free to move or reattach them tho.
@Minecraftpoweer Exactly. Just having a visible cockpit block at all usually signals to people that you haven't spent much time on that particular build.
Needing help to get followers is like going out to dinner so you can take a dump. It's all backwards. Make good builds, make things you like and other people will maybe like it too. Maybe, but not always. You'll enjoy this game a lot more if you build stuff you like instead of worrying about pleasing people you dont know.
@SpyTheGamerX Its safe to say almost all fighters have flaps and slats for takeoff and landing. The F18 has leading edge root extensions, the F-14 features swing-wings, The F-104 featured a boundary layer control system.
@Razor3278 Heh, sorry man. At least the Interceptor can lock on to aircraft out to 9 miles. You can make some pretty nasty mobile SAM launchers out of them.
@FastDan Be a shame if something...
happened to it.
+2Same. I was gonna do a B-25H but SpiritusRaptor already made one, sorta.

+25/10 Looks good but just not realistic without that R.R.O.D
+2U cray. But we love ya

+2@Alpha029 Cyborgs, man. They walk among us!
+2@Alpha029 That's quite a big assumption, don't you think?
+210/10 Would spawn in the air and laugh maniacally as the universe is destroyed again.
+2More of a Judge Dredd kinda guy, personally.
+2This thing looks so awesome!
I would recommend using "flat" colors. They hide defects and are probably more similar to the improvised camo applied to it in real life. I'm considering doing a camo build next, but I'm scared. I've never done one either!
+2I actually write all the stuff on my phone ahead of time and paste it in after I've uploaded from my PC.

Must be a direct image link ending with the file format (.jpg .bmp etc)
+2@Strikefighter04 No, no, no. The Belphegor is only for those in need of inspiration. Medicine is for the sick.

+2And of course, the PZL M15 "Belphegor"
+2Look at planes other people have uploaded, grab one you like and tear it apart to see what it's made of. That works in real life, too but you gotta watch out for the cops.
+2Nope, but the "corona" grows proportionally to the size and shape of the light.
+210/10 Would crash into demonic willow tree again.

+2When you run out of ideas, you have to make the M15 Belphegor. Those are the rules.

+2SPREAD THE WORD FAR AND WIDE
+2@Wolfieboy1555 It looks great, I recommend you spend an hour flying it and landing it to see if there are any flaws in the handling.
+2(B prefix is used for bombers)
+2The Swordfish and the Bismarck, the ultimate David and Goliath story.

+2Jolly good show, sir.
+2I'm definately no fan of the CSA, but them Duke boys are alright with me.
+2Yup.
+2Gold?
Nah.
Platinum?
Nope.
Blood!
+2@CruzerBlade Click the link I posted. Check it out. :)

+2@Tovarishch Sure thing, keep up the good work
+2@QingyuZhou I plan to release a series of civilian aircraft soon. I love millitary aviation, but it does bother me how wasteful it is.
+2@GINGER01 Not true, jets were invented before WW2.
+2You know what? I kind of hate the current generation of fighters. But I had to upvote this because you did such an awesome job here. Very realistic!
+2@SpyTheGamerX Its safe to say almost all fighters have flaps and slats for takeoff and landing. The F18 has leading edge root extensions, the F-14 features swing-wings, The F-104 featured a boundary layer control system.
+2Slats are another matter altogether, that would probably require rotors and additional wing panels to get them to look and function correctly.
