@Texasfam04
Yea I'm also striving for more realism with my builds for now on. My F-36 Broadsword and MQ-125 Ghost builds are waaay overpowered for the claimed real-world engines they use. I decided to go for a realistic-spec engine configuration on my F-24 Warbler simulating it is powered by a GE F110. However initially it's performance was utterly pathetic, and was underpowered this time instead of overpowered. A JAS-39 could go Mach 2 at high altitude and break Mach 1 at low altitude using a much smaller & less powerful GE F404/Volvo RM12, while my F-24 barely did 400MPH using a much more powerful GE F110. So my engine configuration for the F-24 was recently tweaked to go a little above the realistic power outputs so the F-24 performance and top speed wasn't pathetically less than a P-51, but it's still not ludicrously unrealistic like the F-36 or MQ-125. I'd say your jet handles very realistic.
@JED
Your welcome, I'm glad we're on good terms again! For awhile I had a secondary account on SP where I uploaded scrapped projects (from like +2 years ago) but has since been deleted.
@JED
I'm also going to go into a lot more detail in the manufacturing & design process of the F-24 once it's complete. Kind of a crazy idea of mine, but would be absolutely fun if it actually works, I may create a mini-assembly plant where players can try to assemble their own F-24 Warbler. It will be a totally separate upload of my main F-24 upload, but the fighter will be broken up in it's main sections & components, and players will assemble it using a typical assembly roof-crane and the fuselage pieces will connect with magnets.
@JED
I'll definitely tag you the F-24 Warbler when it's nearing completion. Here's the remaining items on my list of things I still need to complete on the F-24:
Remaining Work:
-Landing Gear (1/2 Done)
-AESA Radar section of nose cone
-Nav, Beacon, Strobe, Formation, & Landing Lights
-Yaw/Roll/Airbrakes
-Cockpit Instrumentation
-Helmet-Mounted Display (HMD)
-Fix Broken Throttle
-More Fuselage Details (like AoA indicators)
-Fly-By-Wire Control System
@JED
I'm also going to attempt at learning Funky Trees code and use that to make special functions with the F-24 Warbler such as modless fly-by-wire (F-24 right now is hecking unstable) and modless cockpit instrumentation. Tessemi already demonstrated the possibility of fly-by-wire without mods and BogdanX and jamesPLANESii also made cockpit instruments without mods all using Funky Trees, and that's what I plan to do with not only the F-24 Warbler, but with all my future builds.
@JED
In that case, awesome, and thanks again! When I finish the Phase II Broadsword (and hopefully I'll remember this when I do), I'll make a sort of "family tree" map that highlights the evolution of the Rainier F-36 Broadsword and will be sure to credit you and include your original F-36 Thorny Devil in the tree. Also, I was actually hoping I wouldn't have to totally cancel my Broadsword version since it actually has a customer/contract attached to it, the US Navy, for their autonomous squadron program which utilizes my QLX-125 and our F-36XC Edge. Right now the upcoming F-24 Warbler is Rainier Aerospace's priority in manned fighter development, and the program is going absolutely fantastic so far. The building technique & part-efficiency with the F-24 Warbler already far-exceeds the relatively inefficient structure of my F-36 Broadsword variant. I'd say over 75% of the F-24 warbler airframe is complete and it's well under half the part count of the F-36 Broadsword, yet it looks much higher in quality. The airframe is also more "seamless" and there aren't as many panel gaps and edges as the Broadsword. Basically the build technique and other "technologies" the F-24 Warbler will pioneer will be applied to the Phase II Broadsword.
@JED
Thanks for understanding. I also gave direct credit to you on my BAE Broadsword & BNRV-36A Broadsword public uploads. Also thanks for the words, your build style & quality has jumped leaps and bounds since your original F-36 Thorny Devil (and even that was a very good simple build). The A-12 Vigor II has to be one of my new favorite builds you've created. It's very well done.
@JED
Ok NVM looking back through my unlisted developments of the Broadsword, you actually made the engines too. But I still made the rest of the aircraft and put in the time to do so. In regards to me cancelling my version, your own eventual evolution of your original F-36 turned out to be a lot better than mine anyways IMHO.
@JED
Yes I'm aware of that, my apologies; credit was added at the beginning of my post. Although aside from the designation, wings and fuselage center/LERX pieces, my development of your F-36 was basically a new aircraft. I was also the one who added the OP engine set up on my version, and with the rebuilt Phase II version, I'm going for for more realism, as well as with all my new aircraft projects. But if you still want to claim majority ownership of my version of your design and are not contempt with where I'm taking the design then I can kill the program at Rainier Aerospace and/or completely give it to you. Rainier already has another 5th gen in the works part of the LTF program (and is 100% my own design this time) and can replace the Broadsword's spot in the company.
Is it possible to use funky trees to make an engine drink fuel from a certain fuselage block before using fuel from other fuselage blocks? (i.e. fuel drop tanks)
@mikoyanster Sorry for all the questions, but how many flare/chaff dispensers can we use? I get the limit is the default 50 shots for a dispenser, but can we have more than 2 dispensers? My entry currently uses 4.
@mikoyanster
Hey I have another question (2 to be exact) in regards to weapons:
Is the 12-hard-point rule simply limit the main number of pylon-bases/stems to 12 or does that apply to weapon attachments including on the extended pylons themselves? For example I have 11 hard-points on my fighter, but on some of them, they can carry 3 or 5 missiles/bombs on each pylon.
Also, are we allowed to use weapons made by other players or are custom weapons only allowed to be made by us participants?
@Texasfam04

Dang this is pretty sick! Looks a lot like the RQ-3 Darkstar. Really nice stealthy lines & shaping.
@Texasfam04
Np, this build is fantastic! The handling characteristics are really nice and smooth.
@TJRyan
Lock on to an air target and click the weapons launch button.
Reminds me of the JAM from Yukikaze. Nice!
Man you are on a winning streak lately!

+1Yes, it looks quite professional!
Holy smokes this is incredible!
+1Noice! This target drone is very smexy.
+1@FutureSkylines
Thanks again!
@FutureSkylines
Hey thanks for the upvote!
@goboygo1
Nice! I assume your using funky trees for the cockpit instruments?
Ah yes I remember MechAssault. That was such a fun game when I was a kid.
@JED

@JED
Ha, I knew that had to be you! The X-24 build style was just too close to yours for that account to be someone else. Alright I'll check them out!
Wow this is beautiful! Thanks for making my favorite fictional superfighter!

+1Yep I've seen the patents before. They are quite fascinating and is what leads me to believe the US Military is behind the craft.
Maybe 2020 will be an uno reverse of 2019? 2019 started out good and ended crappy, and 2020 might start crappy but end good.
Dang that's epic!
@FranzPeterSiegfried
+1I'll take a look at it.
@FranzPeterSiegfried
What would Rainier Aerospace do in this proposed partnership?
@Kingflyer1
Np, nice plane!
@FranzPeterSiegfried
Thank you for the updoot!
@MrPorg137
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it, and will do!
oof
How smooth do you want your planes to be?
+2.
SledDriver: Yes
@Kimfri
+1Thank you!
@Zanedavid
Oof. Oh well.
Is it possible to use funky trees to make an engine drink fuel from a certain fuselage block before using fuel from other fuselage blocks? (i.e. fuel drop tanks)
Instructions unclear.
I keep getting this error that says JohnnyBoyThePilotBrain.exe has stopped working.
Lovely design!
If big chungus was a fighter jet
(noice plane btw)
+1Ayy my fictional airline flies these! (although the passenger variant)
@HeavyC22
Thx!
"How many rockets would you like?"
.
Diloph: Yes
@mikoyanster
Oh ok perfect!
