Nice! VTOL control full down and ease the throttle up until it starts to lift. Then slowly increase throttle and decrease VTOL until you are in level flight. Also does STOL very well.
@Varrell007 Yes. As close as I could to Bartini's design concept, but I took it further than the actual plane was developed. Hopefully I did him justice.
This be much fun. Thanks for a tank with no tank tracks. While I can appreciate the crazy skill to make tracks work, I like playing this tank better because of the wheels.
Amazing. incredible @MisterT that you can use SP to make such realism. Also new respect for pilots that had to jump in these things and quickly get up into the sky. If it were up to me, the battle would be over before I remembered the startup sequence.
@Zaineman. Dusted off my Oculus RiftS and gave her a spin in VR. Its just the way like it! Big chunky controls that are easy to reach and loads of fun to fly.
@mahardika Hi. I used your design in my latest update of my VR Hover Jet - 2022 but because its curated I cant update the post text to credit you. I put your name in the "Craft instruction" section of my build though.
@Zaineman A few things. I used the overload xml editor to reduce the mass of the bike making some parts massScale=0 but I really cheated with the wings. They are scaled to maybe half of their original size. Although they look normal size the physics engine sees them as much bigger, so we fly a bit. I needed to do that to make the downforce work.
Amplitude x sin(Frequency + sign(Amplitude) x Phasor x 1)
where Amplitude is
Throttle
or
Pitch
Frequency is how fast the wings are, overall
so
Time*90
for slow wings
Time*380
for fast wings
Phasor is choosing which phase of the sinwave you are controlling from 0-360 degrees
and the number at the end is the bit that defines the different flap states of your different wings on the video example I used
Amplitude x sin(Frequency + sign(Amplitude) x Phasor x 1)
Amplitude x sin(Frequency + sign(Amplitude) x Phasor x 2)
Amplitude x sin(Frequency + sign(Amplitude) x Phasor x 3)
Depends on the system, but generally yes. When you setup your headset it asks you to define the limits of the area you want to use. (So you don't walk into walls). It can be as small as just the area around your seat but can also be room size.
Nice. You could even have the X wings open when SelectedWeapon!="" but that's going into personal preferences. Some ppl like to actually flip a switch. Without revealing how into Star Warz I was as a kid, I remember "lock s foils in attack position" and thinking they meant X foils caus its an x wing fighter right? Apparently not.
Thanks everyone for the upvotes and kind words even though I inappropriately tagged people I shouldn't have. Lesson learnt! @Zaineman The button works off the weapon name of the first weapon selected when you switch modes. I have hidden two missiles in my build (An inferno and a guardian) and used overload to give them the names Air and Ground and set to them to activationGroup 12 so they can never get fired. The button code says.. if there is no weapon selected display the word ARM if the name of the weapon is Ground then display the word Ground. Otherwise display the word Air. If your build has fireable weapons then use the name of those instead of the hidden missiles.
I can record a normal SP game without the headset without cropping, But I wanted to do it all in VR and steamVR's game window is only a mirror of one of the eye displays. There is special software for VR recording but can't be bothered.
Fab plane. Cool looking and it flies really well.
Kewl
its so graceful.
+1I just love the way this build continues to evolve. Really enjoying this one! Thanks!
+1So cool. I never knew How to play before.
Cool 3 wheeler. I Like it.
Cool. One step closer to my dream of operating a Gundam in VR. Can't wait.
+1Totally amazing
+1Elegant build.
Ah. Yes. I was just thinking that my library of builds could use a katana wielding elephant. lol. Rock on dude.
Feature Request can the coal cart be branded ACME? or would that be inappropriate somehow? I can never tell these days.
+1Just love a good joke. Going to have to make a successor of this one;
+1I wish I could upvote this twice.
Nice! Builds like these are often underrated but can be incredibly useful. Thanks for making it!
As someone that has also tried to build this plane I can truly appreciate how hard it is. It's a great effort. Kudos to you.
I am pleased to see a dragon modelled along the lines of a eastern form. Hard to do. Well done
Yes.
Wow.

+1its certainly a good looker.
Its....Its... A KAIJU... Those poor robots from the Pacific Rim movies don't stand a chance.
+2Nicely done. Plus this plane was one of the understated heroes of the 2nd world war. It was the best counter to submarines that the allies possessed.
Super impressed.

+1Sweet!
Terminator Dory? Cursed indeed.

+1Damn this thing looks sexy.
@Zaineman No problem post away, Nice jump, you've made me think about a new line of this design
Really Like the flame effect breath

Oh wow. Thanks for the spotlights and upvotes. @Zaineman
Its a fascinating concept. I just did some VR star jumps! You can use both hands at the same time.
+1I like it.
Really nice! I especially appreciate the take off and landing.
+1Very very cool
+1@PPLLAANNEE its based around a sine wave formula.
Amplitude x sin(Frequency + sign(Amplitude) x Phasor x 1)
where Amplitude is
Throttle
or
Pitch
Frequency is how fast the wings are, overall
so

Amplitude x sin(Frequency + sign(Amplitude) x Phasor x 2)
Amplitude x sin(Frequency + sign(Amplitude) x Phasor x 3)
...etc
for each wing.
Phasor was 90
@ReinMcDeer You are a genius. You gave me the clue to what was missing from this build. A pilot! Coming soon.... VR Cephalopod Rider.
+1Ah...

+1Red six have you seen red five? Just love this.

@Alisuchanka No, you are perfectly correct, I overstepped. I deleted the posts but I can't stop the notifications going out. Really Sorry.

+1@PlaneFlightX Got it.
