But due to this somehow receiving a bunch of demand, I am going to restart this project from the ground up with my new building techniques. Not sure when I'm going to start, but I will tag you on it

And I phrased it badly. The radars that are launched vertically from submarine mine deployment tubes. They float up to the surface with wires attached and allow a sub to surface, launch a plane or two from the hangar, and then submerge and go super deep, launch up the radar and sonars/radio receivers, and then communicate with the plane without being detected

    This is actually really cool!!
Siamese/Thai history is really glazed over. Even in HoI IV lol. The 1932 constitutionalist uprising, the nationalist government from 1939 until 1945, and the continual republic and arguable bastion of anti-colonialist democracy in Indochina
    .
Would have been awesome if they did this in real life

  • It's now 1991! one year ago

The Soviet Union collapsed due to Gorbachev's reforms, making the USSR western and more "Democratic." Following the opening of the markets, Lithuania declared independence, causing the other 12 remaining SRs to do the same. Kazakhstan was the last bastion of the USSR, for 2 days in Decembre. Because Russia already had a president, the Politburo and Grand Premier were disestablished, therefore placing Boris Yeltsin as President of the new Russian Federation, better known as the Russian Provisional Democratic Republic from 1991 to 1993, when the constitution was signed. Gorbachev lost all his power albeit being an amazing leader and reformer.
    .
Likewise, in 1991, many of the Warsaw Pact member states began having elections, forming the modern Democratic states, and they subsequently joined the European Union
    .
In 1991, the Soviet Union had nearly 300 million people living under the hammer and sickle, which was almost 100 million more than the US at this point, which had just over 200 million.
    .
The Ukraine had intense turmoil for many years after this, fighting between the pro-NATO/EU faction and the Russian sympathizers, whom were both elected and passed counterintuitive bills and motions against one another, causing political stagnation
    .
The newly formed German state was beginning more reintegration of the eastern states, and attempting to develop this, but even to this day, there is a severe difference in development/income in the two regions, even Berlin has different lights from the Communist and Capitalist sections that can be seen from space.
    .
Skunk Works was continuing its development of stealth aircraft, most notably the F-35 and F-22, and working on its then-in service F-117

  • Austria Hungary Flag 1869-1918 (custom flag challange) 1.2 years ago

    This is brilliant
I would like to note, however, that this was merely the merchant and civilian flag. Largely recognized by the international stage was the Austrian flag that had been in use for nearly a millenia prior, the black and gold flag. Unfortunately, Transleithania (Kingdom of Hungary) was given minimal recognition even after the Hungarian peoples vowed to praise the emperor in return for autonomy. The dual monarchy was truly nothing more than a power struggle between Transleithania and Cisleithania, with little 'ole Condominium of Bosnia sitting back wondering who his daddy was
    .
Either way, one of the most beautiful flags ever designed <3

    .
Yes, Wilbur and Orville invented powered flight, but the first true aircraft was made by Traian Vuia
    .
The Willey Tank was the first armored vehicle that could propel itself, but the first "tank" was the Renault FT

  • Korean War Specifications Challenge! [CLOSED] 1.5 years ago

@Dragoranos actually, you are entirely true on a number of levels, but there are things that are incorrect
    .
The Sidewinder missile was in development (first generation infrared, very bad and you needed to hold a lock) and the Korean war tested it. Both sides used basic missiles from ships and planes alike to test them. Like I said in the description, the Korean war was more of a proxy war (albeit being a bloody one) used to test technology, much like the Spanish Civil war was
    .
However, you are also correct. The MiG 19 and F-104 were second generation fighters, however, they were not developed until 1954, a year after the Korean was. The Korean war saw early transonic aircraft, like the MiG 17, however, were tested and used, even if in limited numbers during this war, and so your point does stand on that bit, but like on my previous challenge, I make tons of exceptions given you can back them up, and preferably with quality. But this challenge is the prop planes of the Second World War, early Turboprops, 1st generation jets, and very very early 2nd generation aircraft. I allow the Guardian because it is the most realistic to missiles of the time, kinda. If you modify the missiles to be more realistic, I am more than happy to grant extra points if it is more realistic. But yes, you are correct. But this challenge is not for gen 3 aircraft

@OwO y'know, that's actually a brilliant point. But I'm just point this out because Jabuticaba has already begun pushing to be a better builder. You have long surpassed being Silver, and I'm trying to help out a silver user who isn't getting attention, whereas you were able to make connections and get a buttload of support from the get-go. You are right, it is about quality. But yours is in interacting with people, and Jabuticaba's is in building planes.
