It sucks that you keep on crashing, I hope you'd be able to get an upgrade in the near future! I can't imagine how good your builds would be like if you get that problem sorted, all I know is that they'd somehow be so much more amazing then they are now!
@PapaKernels I mean, most bush planes and ultralights have a takeoff speed of around 28mph (although that's usually limited to ultralights) to 35, 40mph. Since your challenge specifies a 'almostlight', would maybe 32-35mph be reasonable?
I recommend reducing the power and drag (with XML) to get your acceleration more in line. Other than that there's no other real criticism I can give this build (WHICH IS GOOD!), love everything else about it!
@Mustang51 @SanitaterAirlines Thanks! Yeah, I based it off the PA-18 Super Cub, and took me a few days to work on after school. Still working on it though!
@MajorSix You can make the wing bigger to produce more lift, then scale it down with with FineTuner or XML. If not that, you can also reduce weight (although the difference will be smaller). When done right, you can get accurate speeds.
If the things below don’t work, it’s usually because you set the mass of a piston, rotator, or suspension to 0. Setting their mass to 0 messes things up.
With the size of the turret, I’d say it would be somewhere on the lower end of the scale you said. So maybe 20, 25 or so? I’m no expert though, so don’t take my word for it lol
@nomalnormaltheman The mass scale of the wing(s) was set to something other than 1, this makes the entire craft spazz out when it comes into contact with water for some reason.
Although probably unneeded, it's most likely wise that I inform you that I am dropping out of the competition as I've run into some circumstances and 'roadblocks.' My submission will most likely remain unfinished, but you'd like to see how far it got, I will provide the link to the unlisted build below. If time allows, though, I'd be glad to participate in any of your future challenges! Thank you.
Sorry if I'm annoying you once again, I'm just a bit curious about how the testing will work for the sections. Will the 'skirmishes' be done ourselves or by you? If the testing is conducted by ourselves, how will that work? Once again, sorry for using up your time and thank you!
Sorry this is a bit late! I think I'll be doing an Italian Medium fighter. No guarantee if I'll be able to submit it on time, though. It all really depends if nothing gets in the way irl. Either way, thank you for getting me back into SP!
(Also, sorry I'm flooding your notifications with another comment!)
Do you allow leniency with the chosen nation and type? I'm saying this since, well, aircraft performance is also greatly influenced by many factors (like the manufacture and the circumstances of the aircraft's creation), not just the country's general doctrine. I wouldn't be swaying too far from your specifications, only just enough to put the aircraft's performance and need into some sort of historical context. If that can't be complied, though, I'd still happily go along the performances you're looking for! Thank you.
@mikoyanster I’ll give it a try! I was meaning to try to work on a Yak-15 for a while too. Either way though, I think I’ll be way outclassed in build quality.
@XP @TheMeatball Thanks! As for your question XP, I used ‘smooth’ for the majority of the panels. Some people, though, usually use circular corners for seamless paneling.

+2@WolfSpark @Treadmill103 Thanks! First time writing a history of an aircraft, great to hear it turned out well!
+2Love the backstory you give this thing, neat !
+1Tea
+1For the speeds you're saying, you prefer a takeoff speed of <60, but stall speeds of 70-80? How low would you allow the stall speeds to go?
+1Bruh, the bois in Mikoyan-Gurevich copied your build wrong, they made it too long.
+1Cute. Loved how you did the shell ejection too!
+1fabulous
+1Why does this give me the sudden urge to throw all my builds into the bin
+1Ah yes, he looks exactly like how I remembered him in Shrek the Third
+1Neat build, love it!
+1@edensk Thank you so much!
+1Congrats on gold!
+1Great build, flies incredibly well!
+1When that happens, I usually just reload the build. It’s inconvenient, but its a fix nonetheless.
+1@CharlesDeGaulle Yeah, I’d have to agree with the aerodynamics, I think I oversized the air intake for the radiators
+1@DickBrazen Thanks! I'll try that out

I love the plane, but is the 200-230mph stat because you couldn't get the flight model right?

Love how its looking ! But why are you up at 1am lol
Oh wait ! I forgot to mention that I do plan on making a submission, sorry.
Neat build!

T, looks neat!
@rexzion 15cm (150mm) it looks like. With a caliber that large, it's leaning towards an SPG lol
Looks amazing either way, though!
If you're playing through steam, you can download builds from there.
@Brendorkus Looks like Noah to me and why am I looking into this

Can't fault you that lol, it's a pain
Jokes aside, do you plan on making on any of the gauges functional?
Got it, it's a supra
Is that a supra

Grandeur Aquila
At this rate, you’re going to have to add a commission with how many people are asking
You know you're depressed when you expected him to point the gun on himself
Love the detail and backstory !
@LieutenantSOT Alright, I'll keep that in mind! Thank you.

@KnightOfRen Oh, rip. Hope to see him back on soon.
@KnightOfRen What for? He's a energetic, but I don't see a reason for him to be temp banned (sorry if I'm asking at a bad time).
Wait, what happened to Wii? I've been on a long break, so I'm a but disconnected with what's going on.

Looks amazing! Something I should look up to, let’s just hope my computer can run it. T
