@NoblePlanesLTD Calm down dude. I never said I was a better builder than you. I don't even build at all. I was just offering constructive feedback.
As for the engine failure simulation, that didn't occur to me. I'm guessing this is a plane from some famous crash/incident. I don't know a great deal about aviation history. From my perspective, I saw a neat replica, downloaded, accidentally pressed the fire button on my controller, and was bewildered to see some magic gun blow up an engine lol.
Fantastic work. I wish it was a little bit more stable, currently it shakes every time you make even the smallest maneuver. It's not bad, but when trying to use the gun it makes it difficult.
@temporaryplanetester I admit I have few concrete ideas for how to make the designer less confusing and more intuitive, but I can compare it with a similar game: Sprocket. Basically Simple Planes but for tanks instead. Its designer allows for virtually unlimited freedom, and it's very intuitive and easy to understand. Only the super advanced stuff requires reading a guide.
I question why this post was made on the website for SimplePlanes...
Does this mean SP will finally be getting the revisit and overhauls it desperately needs?
@Zaineman For whatever reason that doesn't work for me. Now that I think about it I think I've had this issue once before, years ago.
Oh well. Thanks for attempting to help me lol
Thanks for putting the AG controls in the description...really helpful... :/
Can't even start the plane without having to press through every number key and see if anything changed.

I follow the instructions for starting the plane, and the plane takes almost the entire runway to reach enough speed to take off (~200mph). Activating the afterburner seems to do nothing. Then in the air it handles awfully, floating around and drifting out of control.
What am I doing wrong?
@Dragoranos
I did read the pinned comments.
I've been playing SP since April of 2017, for 5+ years now. It never had "frequent" updates, but it certainly had much more frequent updates than what we've seen in a while, that's for sure. Also, the VR update was not in this year, it was last December. We haven't had any updates to this game all year, except for a tiny hotfix in January.
If I was a developer, I would finish the game I initially started working on before starting (and finishing) a whole new one. I know of VERY few times when a developer put one game on hiatus to go work on another, and didn't end up abandoning the original game. I've watched many games experience that fate. Also, I disagree that SP is "already well developed". The designer system is horribly obtuse, there's a lack of basic building parts to work with, the few world locations in this game have little variety, the tutorial is next to useless, the AI is barely "intelligent", and even additional performance improvements would be a breath of fresh air.
This game is severely lacking, there are no two ways about it. The above-mentioned glaring holes in the game have been there for years with hardly any changes to the game to address them. Granted, the devs may just be enjoying developing SR2 and will some day come back to this game, or they may simply have run out of passion for SP, and I don't blame them for either one.
However, as "dead games" go, SP is looking more and more dead as the months wear on. All signs we have indicate that this game is very unfinished and its development appears to have come to a standstill. It may not be dead for certain, but like I said- it's definitely comatose.
I'd like to point out that the message from the dev you quoted was made 2.4 years ago. That's not exactly up-to-date info, or representative of the current development situation (whatever that even is).
We haven't had any major updates this year, and it's already mid-October. Meanwhile, the game is still sorely in need of quality of life improvements (see my suggestions post for more on that), new/updated world locations, performance improvements, AI improvements, and an overhaul to the designer UI and its tutorials. The game is very fun, but with serious, blatant flaws. The fact that the holes in this game haven't been addressed in so long, coupled with the fact that Simple Rockets 2 is still under constant development (and looks like a far more fleshed-out game than SP), indicates to me that the devs have shelved this game and committed themselves fully to their newer game. There's so much more work this game needs to adequately fill in its gaps, yet little has been done to address these things despite the years dragging on.
Perhaps the devs have lost their passion for SP, perhaps they decided it's no longer worth the effort, or perhaps the devs will revitalize this game and its development some day. It's unclear whether or not this game is dead, but it's very certain that SP is in a coma, at least.
@Korzalerke I'm not sure what you mean by this, seeing as I have no trouble at all using a controller. Outside of trim/vtol sliders, and AG1-8, you can absolutely map all the flying and combat controls to a controller, I've done it just fine, to the point where I now prefer the controller. Regardless, this is a game that supports controllers as is, so they may as well improve upon existing controller usage.
Best private jet on the site!

Also it ever so slightly rolls left :(
Why does this come with a gun that destroys one of the jet engines...
Spongebob French narrator Four...days...later...
Very good, but it really wants to keep pitching upward. Trim doesn't seem to help. Trim down makes it REALLY pitch up, but trim up does nothing.
Continental Airlines livery?
Are rear guns on the actual F-16?? I can't find any references to it anywhere.
Fantastic work. I wish it was a little bit more stable, currently it shakes every time you make even the smallest maneuver. It's not bad, but when trying to use the gun it makes it difficult.

@PlaneFlightX No offense, but if it's "perfectly fine", then why did you follow that up with suggesting new things for it? :P
I really like it, but it wants to roll to the left slightly.
Its trim doesn't seem to work.
Also it tries to roll left when going down the runway.
Very good plane. I wish its non-afterburner speed was a little faster.
@phrongus I didn't know that. That's even weirder...

I would love to see a stealth version of this, with angled surfaces and interior weapons bays!
This is the best-looking aircraft on the whole site. Gorgeous.
Really good, but a little wobbly.
I love this! I wish it had a more diverse weapon loadout though.
@Zaineman For whatever reason that doesn't work for me. Now that I think about it I think I've had this issue once before, years ago.

Gotchya, thanks!
What map is that in the screenshots?
I downloaded this, and clicked on the file, but although it opens the game, it does not put the plane into the designer.
Thanks for putting the AG controls in the description...really helpful... :/

Trim doesn't seem to do anything..?
I'm proud to say I was there for this game-breakery XD
This is the single best aircraft on the site. Flies like a dream, functions with perfect efficacy, and is a well-armed craft.
How do I control the submarine itself? Can it move, dive, etc?
Manta#0317
I activate 1 and it immediately freaks out and goes to 1 million feet in the air.
Good plane, but performing quick turns tends to make it stall, it seems.
Excellent plane, but it moves too jerky. It's really hard to aim the railgun.
How do you work the bombs? The aiming reticle is pointed straight down.

Spent all 10 missiles on one tiny 35-part AI plane. No damage.
@Zaineman thanks!
What is the music used?

How do I change the sweep of the wings?

This is a gorgeous aircraft, but I wish it didn't nose down so hard. Any chance the trim could be adjusted, or just allow manual trim control?
This is absolutely phenomenal. Not only the best Su-34 on the site but probably the best jet aircraft on the site period.

It's a great aircraft, but when I launch the Infernos, they simply drop off of their pylons and never activate, never start flying. ??
How do I use it? What are the controls?
