@MrShenanigans Well first I have the engine output its thrust to a variable, and then have the input for that engine also be a variable, and then I compare the input to thrust. If the input is greater than the thrust, then have a label do a boolean selector. And do some math to the input or thrust to get some numbers. It's complicated to explain in a comment, but maybe I'll make a tutorial.
SimplePlanes accounts are not tied to game purchases. If you buy the game through Steam you have access to it on any Windows or Mac device. I don't know how android or iOS work but you will have to purchase the game on Steam to use it on your PC.
Hi,
This is another amazing mod which has become slightly outdated. The sound is excellent, and I have used these on my SWL-120, but the fuel dial is broken (100% or 0%), and the paint is also slightly broken. I'd also love for these to output to variables, similar to the in game engines. It's just that nothing in game matches the engine sound in these, and they are slightly becoming out-of-date.
Appreciate anything you can do.
@SnoWFLakE0s I do think SP needs some way of making 'variable subassemblies'. I am building my new plane, the SWL-120, in different files for reasons (engines, fuselage, nose, cockpit interior, landing gear, etc, and I keep copying variables across using a text editor, which isn't easily available on iOS and Android.
The core of my Radio Selection works similarly to this. I have so many, I edit the variable by having the plane's xml file open in a text editor. Whenever I have a value were I can increase and decrease that value (variable) using buttons, I have a variables list similar to this.
.
TL;DR We developed similar code independently of each other.
I just tested it at Wright, and it's pretty good! I will say the glideslope is shallow, so I'd recommend changing that to be a bit bigger (5 degrees maybe). I'm not at home right now so I can't fully test it. I would also like to use a slightly modified version of this in my SWL-120.
Nice timelapse! Fuselage slicing is so useful. I made an airliner fuselage with seats in like 14 parts for the fuselage and 5 parts per seat. Still working on being even more efficient.
.
Make sure you turn on fuselage smoothing. It causes no performance impact and makes the fuselage extra smooth.
I have a completely unrelated question:
.
I am working on making a working ILS system using trigonometry, and I am wondering if sin-1 (inverse sin), as well as other trig functions (tan-1, cos-1 etc.) are in the game. I had my information ready, was about to write the code, and then noticed the absence of sin-1, tan-1, cos-1 from the Funky Trees Guide. I'm not sure why these aren't in the game. Can you please help me?
EDIT:
After investigating further I realized asin/acos/atan are that same function, but worded differently.
I'd recommend slightly updating the FT guide to show this (Instead of "The arc-sine of x (degrees), say "The arc-sine (inverse sine) of x (degrees)").
Haha I can see the link before I click
+1@KingHandspider Pretty good, the actual engine is just about done, I am going to make a post in a few days.

There is a way to create folders yourself using xml, but the original forum got deleted.

@vonhubert That's okay, just make sure you give credit.
The ILS is just about done, I'm releasing a video on it this Sunday, so stay tuned!
+1@vonhubert Thanks!
+1@BeastHunter Go to SimplePlanes in the steam library, click on properties, and select betas, then select public test.
+1@BeastHunter I just checked the beta, no new parts.
+1If you use smooth(x, 1), make sure the piston's speed is set to a high value like 200% or higher.
+1I challenge you to make this function like a real one.
+1@bruhmoment99 A lot of coding. This video gives a basic explanation
I'll post more information later.

+1I'm... Just going to upvote and spotlight the finished plane without even downloading it. That is... until i buy that i9 and RTX 2080 desktop I want.
+1I have some code from Snowflake0s, it has several settings with VTOL.
See my pickup truck for more information.
