Boy, a good half of the users just registered on the site, some others simply downloaded the apk from the sites. Look at the number of users in SR2. They are many times less. If the profit from the SP would be so great, then the developers would simply "milk" the game to the last cent.
I love it, and want to make user model for WT. You don't mind, do you? Although what difference does it make if I copy only the design and not the geometry? In this case, I do not violate the rules of the site.
Talked to the developers several times, showed them strange unused features and assets (ancient ruins, city, propeller for ships), in versions since 1.6, they seem to be unaware. They are working with something they don't understand, as the old developers are mostly busy with JUNO
Even the best flight simulators can be boring. I've been playing this game for 4+ years, got everything I could get, and for the last year I haven't entered the game because I have nothing new to discover.
This is not a canvas. This is a space where you can build something.
I can enjoy working in blender, but not for long. Am I interested in building airplanes? No. When the first wave of enthusiasm passes, it turns into a routine, overpowering yourself, which is further aggravated by frankly outdated controls, small mistakes like Ctrl-Z, etc.
It's no wonder that I got the most pleasure from the abstract numbers of upvotes and comments about the plane that I published.
It is quite normal that a 10-year-old game becomes boring.
Don't blame the game or the players for getting bored.
Well, the Internet is another thing where you can be sent an f for expressing your opinion :)
The first 3 points are still not resolved, and I even doubt the combat missions in SP2, but not the point.
I just want to say that I, as a typical user of social networks, am used to looking at the cover, and as a non-typical SP player, I have not downloaded any builds for a long time. I just come here once every 2 weeks and upvote some nice user builds.
I don't care how this assembly flies/drives, what it shoots, and which HUD the author spent several days implementing...
As for these tanks, I personally not only don't want to download them, but also just click on the cover... Maybe it's a matter of the author's style, maybe the SP acid range... In addition, I have a sincere and strong aversion to "OP characters" capable of destroying entire armies. This applies to aviation, and comic book characters, and, as in this case, tanks.
It's like art. 9 times out of 10, I'll choose a Thomas Cole painting over a Dali painting. I love the proportions, the color balance and the balance between the detail and scale of the painting...
@32 Agree, because for example, in AssetoCorsa I have 140 FPS with the best textures and effects, and if I port the map to the SP using ModTools, I have 50 FPS and disgusting textures and shadows.
@Mahiro
I hope that by 2030 you will score 1000 points, that your jokes will no longer be flat and stupid, and you will not be blocked according to the rules of the SimplePlanes community.
I think that SP and Juno are too specific projects for a general audience. You can talk for a long time about the emptiness of the SP world and the lack of interactive content. The success of KSP 1 was due to the complete absence of games of this genre, new gameplay and funny kerbals, which are so fun to kill in the most ingenious ways. Stormworks is popular for its voxel style. And Jundroo understands this, because both of their biggest projects were PR failures, especially SR2.
Formula SP 1 worked great in the golden period of sandboxes in an empty open world, without content, but not in 2018. And the subsequent success of SP 1 is connected with the release on Android.
Want to hear about examples of media success? Please. NuclearOption by B25Mitch and Out of Action. These are two unfunded indie games, each made by just one person. These are games that gained considerable popularity before the release, and YouTube is full of videos about them, with more than 100k views, tens of thousands of participants in Discord, and the projects themselves paid off financially even before the release. I myself spent 15$ and did not regret it.
You are right, the new SP is made only for ≈50k fans who downloaded this game in the 6th grade and are now graduating from technical colleges in aviation. Treat SP2 as a major update rather than a new game. SP2 is just an improvement without something fundamentally new, although it will live for another 10 years.
I think this is Andrew's last project, he realizes that no one needs sandbox flight simulators anymore...
Make a Andrew merch!

+5I dont understand. SP has Zoom?
+51.We don't have stock tracks
2.We don't have any missions/locations to test tanks.
3.Damage model is sucks.
4.i don't like Roblox style shiny wunderwaffe tanks of yours.

+2Bro, if your pc cant draw simpleplanes in 30fps, then DONT use shaders or large custom maps!
