z fighting can be easily solved by slightly moving one piece away. If there would be an attempt to remove z fighting, I honestly dont think itd be any better
@CrashFighter05 aight
Ryzen 7 2700 8c 3.2ghz base speed
16gb ddr4 @3200mhz (g.skill trident z rgb)
samsung 970 pro 512gb (boot drive) r: 3.6gb/sec w: 2.7gb/sec
GTX 1660 ti OC (asus strix version)
Dark Base 700 from be quiet
Seasonic focus plus 650w 80+ gold fully modular unit
I didn't want the rgb on my pc to be completely overkill, I think its a nice aesthetic when it has the right balance of size compared to the other parts, but when its plastered all over the pc its just disgusting. I can also go into detail on why i chose every part i did, if you'd like me to
I've now downloaded and flown it, and I'm ready to give my critique. Pros:
Absolutely stunning detail and livery.
The construction and physical shape is beautiful, very well made, and stays very true to the original design
The mechanical part of this aircraft is truly incredible. Using as many as over 100 rotators on an aircraft really shows the amount of effort put into it.
The afterburner exhaust looks great
The yawing motion doesn't roll the plane and its actually effective at turning
Cons:
The weight is entirely inaccurate, should be roughly 150 tons
It's also larger than the real thing, which is 202 ft long, 40 ft tall, and with an 84 ft wingspan
The weight causes it to accelerate multiple times faster than a Tesla car
Completely stops when engine power is cut
There's no suspension at all in the landing gear
Roll rate is painfully slow, had a hard time adjusting my orientation to land
Nitpicks and small issues:
There are no navigation lights on the wing
The trailing edge at the base of the vertical stabilizer is flat instead of like it is at the tip
The landing lights that fold out stay out when 7 is turned off, an issue I've encountered and know how to fix
The control surfaces don't entirely line up with the wing where they attach
Overall, you did an amazing job on building and shaping it, but part of a SimplePlanes build is the flight experience. Paying attention to that is important for those who download and want to fly it. I do understand being finished with this project you probably don't have much motivation to work on it more, and i very much understand that. So I'll offer my own revision based on my critique, if you allow me to.
the fact its a pc isnt purely a constant, i had two that could handle up to 1k parts, and now one that wont even sweat at 3k
building with keyboard and mouse controls is the smoothest sp can get. thumbs and touch screens suck
you do not know how actually complex that would have to be
would need to: know generally how to fly the plane, how high to climb to and keep the plane level, what turns to make, fly at what speeds, what descent rate to take & the specific glide path to the runway, where the td point is, all in only a few different spots to put this input
two things and another thing
1, placement of the main gear when its custom built is generally supposed to rest right behind the center of mass (just enough so its able to be balanced when the airplane is rotated/flared off the ground)
2, these gears need scissors, which are a two-piece connecting bit that looks a bit like this
lastly, my goto move for gear when it shakes a lot even with scissors on and good placement is to up the mass scale of the mechanical parts (shocks, rotators, wheels etc)
also on a side note the hornets gear is one of the ballsiest designs ive seen for suspension and i do not wanna build it again heres pic of that
tbf rotators would still be better bc id actually know where the rotation axis is whereas this id just be throwing it at the wall and seeing what sticks
@BogdanX is this what it looks like when i inevitably go senile
+2God the quack cult is worse than I thought

+2I remember a few that aren't on this list, Maverickvii and Teus made the first planes i downloaded way back in 2015, and they were pretty good

+2You could.. also give credit to baalzebub for making most of this for you
+2I'd just wait a few sec with the game unpaused and then it'll go away
+2Minecraft tbh
+2Why dont irl manufacturers just put the power multiplier on their engines to 2 so they fly twice as fast
