@Wily4bill haha, though you made a very good ship too I must say.

  • The End of YTech. I Quit. 8.4 years ago

@JayDay60 out of interest, when did you buy the game? I'm fairly sure I bought the game in the last christmas sale, though not once was I called a christmas noob. yet my first planes were just as "interesting" as any other player's with zero points. Ironic considering this entire post stemmed from the infamous points system that has been seen to cause a lot of unfairness among the community.

  • Gotha V bomber 8.4 years ago

@LouisEP thank you, I worked very hard on it.

  • The End of YTech. I Quit. 8.4 years ago

@Chevygmoney I'm not criticising you. I was quoting jayday60 who was calling other people's creations "a block on a wing" I had to make do myself until I found out about these things. i still managed to make some decent creations by forcing blocks to fit into place with snapping points and adjusting sizes here and there. I don't think mobile creations should be deemed any worse or better than those made on pc.

I must say this post caught my eye. These leaving posts usually do, mostly because I want to go and see the hilarious crap that people come out with to get attention. however, this post was different. you do make a certain point. I know some people will disagree, but that is really because they have a reason to, there are many exceptions to what you say, however I knew I found it hard when I firsts started out and I still do find it difficult to get my latest creations off the ground at times, but it's true a lot of it depends on upload times. @JayDay60 as for what you said I do rather disagree, all this stuff about the site being flooded with noobs. I haven't been here long, but I've been here certainly before the Amazon underground thing and I've been here before the most recent steam sale. But since I've known, the game has been like this, from when I joined there were always these people who would put a "block on a wing and call it a plane" If you go back to my first creation, I was one of them, my first plane was utter crap, we were all noobs once, when I first joined I didn't know how to XML mod and I didn't know how to nudge things, so it was all I could do. Put a wing on a block and call it a plane simply because I didn't know better. But I learnt. Not very quickly but the quality is my aircraft did start to improve. The simple fact of it is these "noobs" of which you speak will be the same. Rather then look down on them we should at the minimum leave them be to learn. If a creation someone new makes does have some creative merit, upvote it, as many people do. To be honest I've kind of lost where I was going with this but yeah. So...

  • rotator inputs? 8.4 years ago

@Shmexysmpilot damn it'd be so useful if you could have them, but oh well thankyou for the info!

  • KMS Tirpitz (WWII Challenge) 8.4 years ago

@MEGANOOB xD there are different categories, so I might have won the ship class, although there is another very good ship there too... and as far as I can tell there have only been three ships submitted so far. One of which has already been marked and scored quite highly. Though I appreciate your telling me that my entry was deserving of winning.

  • KMS Tirpitz (WWII Challenge) 8.4 years ago

    @MEGANOOB wut?

  • Sneak peek/Guess the plane 8.4 years ago

@SimpleFlow probably a bit late for guess but isn't it the Vickers vimy?

  • Need help! Fw 190 WIP 8.4 years ago

@AsunderHalt to be honest it's a bit of both, though the odd thing is in take-off it turns to the left, in flight it rolls to the right. Thanks for trying to help

  • -[FINISHED!]- WORLD WAR 2 CHALLENGE! 8.4 years ago

@BaconAircrafts, ah I didn't know 8 had been removed and thank you for replying, awaiting the 1:1 scale project though now.

  • -[FINISHED!]- WORLD WAR 2 CHALLENGE! 8.4 years ago

@BaconAircrafts, this is probably a stupid question, but the challenge has 52 successors... when will you be closing the challenge and/or updating the number of entries that have been put in because.... well, yeh... xD

  • -[FINISHED!]- WORLD WAR 2 CHALLENGE! 8.4 years ago

@BaconAircrafts thankyou! would that be a no to the second entry?

  • KMS Tirpitz (WWII Challenge) 8.4 years ago

@DeezDucks thankyou?, I put a huge amount of effort into it!

  • -[FINISHED!]- WORLD WAR 2 CHALLENGE! 8.4 years ago

@BaconAircrafts you allow me entering a second thing or you allow me making a jet propelled boat?! xD

  • -[FINISHED!]- WORLD WAR 2 CHALLENGE! 8.4 years ago

@BaconAircrafts here is my entry, for the challenge: https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/RE7LID/KMS-Tirpitz-WWII-Challenge
However contrary to the rules I had to make it a jet powered ship for two reasons, I'm fairly sure that there is no other propulsion method that will work underwater, and I don't think much other than a jet engine will move 60 tonnes of ship.

I have one other question, since I made an entry for the ship class, can I submit a second entry for the aircraft class?

  • Ferrari F2004 8.4 years ago

@Seabo14 thank you very much :D it's nice to know that you're still here and part of the community even after I've been away for a while... (School got super busy with exams and things)

  • Ferrari F2004 8.4 years ago

Basically I need a selection of circular discs ranging from like 0.5x0.5 to 0.2x0.2 with a width, (well technically it would be the length of the fuselage block...) only just visible from either side when placed in the middle of a wing piece.

  • Ferrari F2004 8.4 years ago

@Seabo14 in fact yes, working on a copy of a vueling a320, it's currently missing windows and a livery, speaking of which would you be able to do a spot of XML modding for me if you have a moment of time or two?

  • Mod Request 8.5 years ago

@FrankieB hey, I'm currently working on a replica of a Vueling a320, would you be please able to do some XML modding for me too? In case you don't know the Vueling livery, there is a sort of weird circle-y bit at the back which has a number of different circles decreasing in size... would you be able to make me a range of different circular discs ranging from 0.6 to 0.2 in diameter, maybe decreasing in intervals of either 0.1 or 0.05? I would need to have the discs with a length just wider than a wing piece so that it's just visible from both sides when positioned in the middle of a wing piece? (i'm guessing that would be around a length of 0.2 or so, but I'm not really sure what that would call for?) I would be so grateful if you could do this, it would be much appreciated.

  • Steam Beta 8.7 years ago

@PhillipTarpley so you can't race on it in the "Race against opponents menu"?

I'd just really love to see a proper racetrack or two for some cars though. For example after the update is released one of the next tournaments could be a car race?

  • Steam Beta 8.7 years ago

@PhilipTarpley do you know if there are any planned car racing tracks?

  • Steam Beta 8.7 years ago

@AndrewGarrison One question... Are there going to be any race tracks for cars. If not, can we add some?! Because I would love to see a car racing championship after the update!

    "I BEEELIIIEEVVVE I CAN FLYYYY"

I couldn't stop laughing for five minutes!

  • WIP Need Help 8.7 years ago

@Wraith If you want less bendy wings try two things, make your pitch elevators smaller and try adding a 0.5 thick fuselage block in the wing, rounded off with a noise cone to give them extra support.

  • Issue for small players. 8.7 years ago

@PHALANXxALT I know exactly how you feel, most of my planes were rubbish and never noticed until I had my main break that pushed me from 352 points to where i am now pretty much. The key is to try and find something unique that hasn't really been done before. If it's unique and people do enjoy it, the plane will get publicity and sometimes a feature.

Another thing, although this might not apply to you, USE NUDGE! (if you don't know what it is check your control settings, it allows you to move things with tiny movements ignoring collisions) It seriously empowers you to do so many cool things, improves your creations so much and enables you to add tonnes of detail. That detail will get your creation noticed.

  • Long Distance Race and Screen Recordings 8.7 years ago

@Flightsonic if there were someone who you could trust to race your plane for you, who isn't in the race you could send it to them. The crucial thing is trying to get an unbiased pilot.

  • FLAPS - not so easy 8.7 years ago

@SpiritusRaptor If you check out my latest plane with flaps it uses a flap on an extended rod of a rotator, such that the piece of flap rotates in an outward and downward circular motion. The nearest irl example I can think of is a pair of compases. If the rotator were the central point, and the edge of the where the pencil would be is a piece of wing. that's how I do it. If you check out my Lockheed Tristar and nudge the piece of the body out of the way you'll see how I did it.

  • Lockheed Tristar with working flaps! 8.7 years ago

@Seeras ye, but this plane is also gone xD Hell it's a classic airliner and it was one of the most recurring liveries on google so I picked that. Also it left me with reasonably simple colour scheme to follow but it still looks cool.

  • Airliner cockpit 1 8.7 years ago

@Seabo14 well you could change the glass colour to a pale blue and paint it in the cream and dark blue colours but other then that not really. I mean if I were being really picky I would say the rear of the plane is a tad thick but it's good.

  • Airliner cockpit 1 8.7 years ago

BTW for anyone who wants to see this cockpit fitted to an aircraft go out my latest plane https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/UFvAEV/Lockheed-Tristar

@Seabo14 you said you wanted to see it so I tagged ya in this comment just incase.

  • Airliner cockpit 1 8.7 years ago

@Seabo14 https://www.simpleplanes.com/a/asq6Ku/Miles-Falcon-Cockpit-1 here be the fruits of my labour. Enjoy! :D

  • Airliner cockpit 1 8.7 years ago

Used it a lot on your canopy which I'm working on now

  • Airliner cockpit 1 8.7 years ago

if you're talking about nudging, like moving stuff by tiny increments yeah I do.

  • Airliner cockpit 1 8.7 years ago

@Seabo14, you did some superb modding too though? didn't you? also I'm nudging my nose cone and cockpit pieces out of the way, then sticking it to the fuselage piece behind, and moving the cockpit pieces back in... I'd always say make the plane first.

  • Airliner cockpit 1 8.7 years ago

@seabo14 not at all, use the cockpit anywhere you please... I am overjoyed with how much of an amazing job you did on it... really... it is so amazing, words can not quantify how grateful I am! Just put it in my Lockheed Tristar this morning, fits like a charm!

  • De Havilland Comet 8.7 years ago

@WWIIPlaneBuilder Very true, although the Comet II which looked almost the same as the comet I so you could just call it that instead xD

  • Airliner cockpit 1 8.7 years ago

@Seabo14, you sir... did a fantastic job :D love it! Your Miles Falcon thing, is it the top bit with the overhang over the engine that you want?

  • De Havilland Comet 8.7 years ago

@Luxray00 what de Havilland? xD They're a real plane company, and besides what's in a name... The plane's look nothing like each other. That and I'd never heard of you before.

  • De Havilland Comet 8.7 years ago

    @Johndfg cheers, I'm really pleased :D

  • Trench Run 8.7 years ago

Anyone have a link to the twitch stream? or at least know the channel where it will come from? I don't want to miss anything

  • De Havilland Comet 8.7 years ago

Thank you all for the amazing support this place has received, ( my rating thingy had practically doubled overnight) . In the works for my next project is a Lockheed TriStar. This one will hopefully have an interactive cabin view :D

  • Remembering SimpleWheels (Last Year's April Fools Joke) 8.7 years ago

You know the really funny thing is all the hate reviews on the GP Store... Evereyone be like "I THOUGHT THIS GAME WOULD BE GOOD, DON'T GET IT"

  • Trench Run 8.7 years ago

@AgDynamics, how fast does your plane get round?

  • Trench Run 8.7 years ago

@bspboy make your primary wingspan wider, add a pitch control surface on there and hit invert. also if it's too much, shrink the rear pitch control surface a bit?
