@ThomasRoderick They are roughly the same. Dumb rockets made from bombs aren't very viable since the 1.7 update, as dumbfire cleavers can do the same thing, but with less parts.
@ThomasRoderick The ancestor for those was the gauss Cannon (which can be found in the gen 1 weapons.) This weapon precedes some burst-fire systems that became obsolete after the 1.7 update.
@Warbrine Thanks. It means a lot. I've been trying to make myself somewhat unique by doing exactly what you have described. I don't think many notice it, so thank you for your perspective!
@SledDriver [Regarding the WNP thing] Both users were at fault, in my opinion. Feel free to disagree with me if you want. I'm going to stop commenting on this forum post now, though. I've been a catalyst for some unnecessary drama (which somehow arose after our original discussion came to an amicable end). This forum post should've died a while ago, so by not commenting, I'm cutting off its life support.
@SledDriver I wasn't necessarily judging by function, but rather aesthetics. However, I suppose judging aesthetics goes into the realm of subjective opinion, which isn't concrete, so I'll stop. Anyway, I do completely agree with your opinions regarding fictional aircraft (style) over replicas. I'll add that my comment regarding other people's opinions doesn't make sense in the context of this conversation, but made sense in the context of the original forum post, as the topic was related to the opinions of others.
@SledDriver I wasn't very precise in my language, and I was unfair in my characterization of your style. However, I am fairly certain that, in this case, I mean style. Your building technique, as in the way you construct your uploads, it versatile. The sideways-fuselage building technique can be applied to almost any build. By style, I mean that, appearance-wise, the planes are quite similar. The shiny grey color is characteristic to your profile, as well as sleek aircraft shapes that generally fall into the category of fighter bodies, with or without engine nacelles (usually one on each wing). Also, I did state that I know about a lack of variety from experience, which is a clear indication that I know that my profile is fairly homogeneous. I'm not sure what you were trying to accomplish by pointing that out.
I also must add that, on a site where anything slightly futuristic is lumped into one category, futuristic builds are seen as clones of each other without any recognition or thought about the details, function, color scheme, usage of shapes, etc. Unfortunately, while I think my evaluation of your style was an unfair exaggeration (And I will edit it to set the record straight), there is most likely a large pool of players who would agree with that evaluation that was stated in my original comment.
I respect SledDriver's skills and style, but I am fairly certain that he will lose momentum. That sort of thing happens when you stick to the same style without the slightest bit of deviation. People get bored, and move on. I know this from experience.
[EDIT]: "without the slightest bit of deviation" is a bit harsh here, and doesn't really reflect my views on SledDriver's designs. There is deviation. However, if it is easy for me to make that unfair characterization, then it is certain that others have made that unfair characterization too.
@Joco80 Ah, you caught me at a time in which my life is just starting to get busy again. I could have a week ago. Let's see how busy I am in a few weeks, and decide then.
It's a mod that allows you to upload a certain picture instead of a screenshot. I have a mod that is similar to it, but have never used it. My bio is composed of pictures that I edited myself, with the help of a this map.
Steam Workshop will be added anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours after this mod has been uploaded. It all depends on my schedule and how fast Unity is.
Wow! This is very cool. I would recommend putting a little more detail on the center block (the large white fuselage), but otherwise it looks quite good.
Smooth. I think that the white oval might need some adjusting though.
The canopy looks pretty cool.
It really depends on the plane.
Awesome. Good job! I'll check this out when I get home.
@Dakotaraptor I'll try that. Thanks!
Congrats! Its nice seeing a teacher here.
+2@Dakotaraptor The mod does have a script, so that may be causing the problem. What kinds of things should I be looking for?
@Jetpackturtle Thanks for the high score! I'm pleased by the "looks" score. It seems like people either loved the colors, or hated them.
@DarthAbhinav Depends how much time I have. Plus, some techniques I just use instinctually...
Nice. The canopy looks pretty good too.
This is awesome. Good job on the shape and the flight system!
+2Sounds fun. I might give a shot at a bus then.
@ThomasRoderick They are roughly the same. Dumb rockets made from bombs aren't very viable since the 1.7 update, as dumbfire cleavers can do the same thing, but with less parts.
@ThomasRoderick Yep, of course this is an old build. I still like it though.
+1@ThomasRoderick The ancestor for those was the gauss Cannon (which can be found in the gen 1 weapons.) This weapon precedes some burst-fire systems that became obsolete after the 1.7 update.
Looks good. It's also fun in appearance and in the desc. Nice work!
Is XML allowed?
[EDIT]: nevermind. I scrolled down and saw the answer, which was yes. I think my next build will be for this challenge.
People have multiple email accounts. Mine, for example, is not a personal account, so including it in my bio does not reveal any personal information.
I've noticed that posting at noon (pacific time) works best for me.
+1@QXY Its gotta be an error in building the mod. Since I have a lack of expertise, I cannot pinpoint the error... sorry about that!
@Warbrine Thanks. It means a lot. I've been trying to make myself somewhat unique by doing exactly what you have described. I don't think many notice it, so thank you for your perspective!
Mechanical creations like this always stun me. The intricacy is better than I can do. Good job!
+2Cannons would be really fun to use.
+1The colors are used very well here. They make it look aggressive.
@ThomasRoderick The facility is designed for testing weapons without directly attaching the weapons to something (pylon, wing, etc.).

+1@ThomasRoderick Yep. That's where I got that one from. I think I need to update this beam Cannon though, to make it more effective.
+2@DarthAbhinav I saw his argument (if that's the appropriate term) with WNP. It doesn't make him look good, but I suppose everyone makes mistakes.
+5@SledDriver Sounds like a fun conversation to have. I am quite tired though, so perhaps another time.

+3@SharpShooter1301 No problem! That plane is one of my favorites, so have fun flying and using it!
+1@SharpShooter1301 The plane that has the cyan and magenta hexagon wing art? It is here.
+1@QXY I have done what I think will solve it. Try re-downloading, and see if it works. If it doesn't, then I'm not sure what else I can do.
+1@ProKillaV12 I wouldn't call 9 days fast, but to answer your question, SP is one of the only video games I play.
+2@QuantausAviation Extremely light weight combines with high amounts of drag to give the aircraft a very slow terminal velocity.
@QXY I didn't have time today to implement my remedy. I'll tell you when I do so.
@QXY Ah. I think I have to re-save the android version of the mod. Some of the textures didn't get added, I guess. My fix should be simple.
@Joco80 Ah, you caught me at a time in which my life is just starting to get busy again. I could have a week ago. Let's see how busy I am in a few weeks, and decide then.
+1@QXY Hm, can you send me a screenshot?
@QXY Those are some weird shadows that have been cast. Are you on android or PC/Mac?
@Awsomur That's just how designers work. There is probably a way to fix it, but none that I know of.
@chancey21 Nothing that is public.

I like how you constructed this one. It is very part-efficient.
+1@Awsomur Yeah, this one is very laggy. My next map should be relatively lag-free though!

@Flightsonic That also sounds good. I'll take it into consideration.
