Nice build. The gauges in the cockpit are not working correctly. Ensure that you are selecting Preset instead of Gauge Face in the Part Properties for the gauge parts.

That's okay, I know it can be very difficult to work with the wheel physics in SimplePlanes.

@yyzm okay, thanks, I have curated this post.

This is a cool build for VR but unfortunately the landing gear glitch a lot on the Quest so I can't curate it.

@ren64 Can you verify that you are running version 1.12.118.2 in the about page in the main menu?

This build has potential and I would like to curate it for VR, except it is missing a button in the cockpit to enable the engines (or at least I was unable to find one).

  • MR-100A Majic 3.2 years ago

Nice build. One thing that could improve this for VR players is to add a throttle slider on the right side, just be careful that it doesn't intersect the lever.

Nice build. Unfortunately, the controls don't work in VR. If you wanted to update this for VR, you can basically just swap your rotators out for Joystick Base parts.

@Beetlejuice6156 Sounds great! Please tag me when you post your final build.

This is a really nice build but unfortunately, the cockpit is far too large to work in VR.

Amazing build! Any possibility we could get a collective lever in the cockpit for VR players? I'd love for VR players to be able to experience this!

  • KP-49 Hornet 3.2 years ago

This is a nice build and works well in VR, but I would recommend keeping the fighter throttle at 100% scale. When the throttle is scaled up, the player's hand disappears inside of it when grabbed in VR.

  • F-39 "Spectre" 3.2 years ago

@SlimSimpy It would require resizing the cockpit and I understand that would be quite difficult to do without access to SPVR. You are a talented builder and it would be something you could consider for future builds. Ensure you are keeping flight controls (ie - throttle, flight stick, chair) at 100% scale and use that as a basis for the scale of the cockpit.

  • F-39 "Spectre" 3.2 years ago

Beautiful airplane. I checked this out in VR tonight and unfortunately, the cockpit is too small for VR, but the airplane is awesome. Nice work. Would you ever consider tweaking for VR?

  • A-65 DarkStar WL 1.27 3.2 years ago

Nice chopper. I would be happy to curate this if it had a lever or slider in the cockpit for VTOL so VR players can control that.

This is a great build and it works well in VR. The only thing that is missing for a good VR experience is a slider/lever in the cockpit to increase engine throttle.

  • Bravo-503 Flechette (VR Test) 3.2 years ago

Thanks for updating this great old craft for VR. Some things I noticed while flying in VR that could improve the experience:
    1) The gauges don't work correctly. Ensure you are selecting the Preset you want and not Face Type from the gauge's part properties.
    2) The yoke's bindings won't allow me to fire weapons so I end up recentering the camera instead.
    3) It would be nice to have a button to cycle targeting modes in the cockpit.

If you make those tweaks, tag me on the post and I'll review it for curation again.

  • MIG-29 Fulcrum 3.2 years ago

I checked this out in VR and it is mostly okay except for a few issues. The flight stick is too big and should be scaled back to 100%. The gauges are not working right. Ensure that you are selected Preset instead of Gauge Face in the gauge part properties flyout. If you fix those issues, tag me and I'll review for curation again.

  • Hornet 3.2 years ago

This is a nice build and has potential. I'd like to curate for VR, but it really needs a VTOL slider in the cockpit so a VR player can adjust the angle of the thrusters in VR.

  • Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey VR TEST 3.2 years ago

Nice build. Would be nice to have a lever in the cockpit to control the VTOL angle of the engines. Or maybe some instructions. Through trial and error I found out it's AG 2 that rotates them forward.

  • [SUGGESTION] Ball Joint Rotators. SP NEEDS these! 3.2 years ago

@jamesPLANESii I would also suggest increasing slerpMaximumForce on ControlBase via Overload and see if that helps to stabilize the joint. Not sure what setting would be best, but you could try increasing until it seems to help stabilize. (I wouldn't suggest going above 400000.)

  • [SUGGESTION] Ball Joint Rotators. SP NEEDS these! 3.2 years ago

@LotusCarsSub This can actually be done now with the new joystick base part.

  • Pfalz D.IIIa ''Max Holtzem'' VR 3.2 years ago

@AWESOMENESS360 Yes, it's working now and this craft is now curated. The only thing now is the throttle cylinder grip is backward and you can see that in the hand preview in the designer. Not a big deal at all, but something to keep in mind for future VR builds. Thanks for updating the XML. I'm glad to be able to fly it now in VR. It's an awesome airplane!

  • Bell-Boeing V-22 Osprey VR TEST 3.2 years ago

This is a great craft and I'd love to curate for VR, but there doesn't appear to be a way to control the angle of the rotor systems in VR. I think I have to activate an AG and then use VTOL on the analog stick, but for curation we really need a button and some sliders in the cockpit tha the player can reach out and interact with. If you make those tweaks, please tag me on the post and I'll review it again for curation.

  • Rexxon Corps RC-71 Rippler 3.2 years ago

Your builds are looking better. Everything is a bit small in the cockpit but passable for VR. If you added a throttle slider and label your switches then I could curate this.

  • Pfalz D.IIIa ''Max Holtzem'' VR 3.2 years ago

Beautiful craft and I would love to curate but none of the controls can be grabbed in VR. In order to make a custom control grabbable in VR, you need to use Joystick Base part instead of rotators. You can basically swap out your current rotators for Joystick Base parts and just set the input rotation axes to what you want them to control. Also, for the yoke, it might be good to use the Cylinder Grips where you want the player's hands to grip.

If you need any help, just let me know. I'd love to help get this awesome airplane ready for VR.

  • According to Jundroo, "Attachment Editor" means "Selective parts Editor". 3.2 years ago

@AWESOMENESS360 @1918 If I understand correctly, you want to tap and hold on the part connection to highlight the connected part, right? That will work again after the next update.
    .
If you want to select the part, then you will need to quickly tap the part connection instead of tap and hold. Personally, I find it useful to click a part connection so I can select a part that might be hidden behind other parts. Do you understand what I mean and how the existing functionality that everyone wants will be restored but now if you briefly click you can select the connected part?

  • According to Jundroo, "Attachment Editor" means "Selective parts Editor". 3.2 years ago

It now selects the part instead of highlighting the other part on mobile. Is that the problem you are referring to? If so, that will be reverted in the next build. Well, it will still be possible to select a part if you click it within 0.25 seconds. If you tap and hold for any longer than that it will just highlight the connected part. Sorry about this change, I can see it has annoyed a lot of mobile players.

Nice job with finding a cool craft and updating it for XML. A couple of things that I think might improve the VR experience.

    1. Scale the seat down to 100% and move it up a bit
    2. Improve the layout of the fthrust / trim controls and fix the floating label

I'd love to curate this, so if you make any of those tweaks just tag me and I'll review it again for curation.

Amazing build! This feels excellent in VR. I did notice the bindings on the joystick are set so that the trigger cycles the targeting mode and button A fires the guns. If that wasn't intentional, let me know and I can tweak the XML on this post to switch those bindings.

@CaryMGVR In the main menu, just click the blue button under Player Aircraft to open the airplane browser. You can browse online, curated airplanes right there. If you want to browse non-curated airplanes, then login with your SimplePlanes account. You can also add airplanes to your favorites list on the website and then access your Favorites from that same airplane browser in-game.
