I'm sorry about the visual changes due to the switch to linear color space. Unfortunately, we didn't have a choice. We will try to fix what we can, but things will look a little different after this update.
@CRJ900Pilot The decision to make them not worth any points was to help prevent players from begging for upvotes (at least once the honeymoon period wears off). I find the feature useful on other sites, because it can show community consensus. This is really helpful for me as a dev, because now I can quickly see what is important to the community when scrolling through comments. I can already see that a lot of players want a new rank.
Yep, we released a new beta. This only has a couple of fixes. One is a fix for errors related to the cleaver and another makes it easier to pan around while taking screenshots on a mobile device without accidentally rotating the view.
@Thatguy2020 Juno is the name of the sun in the game and the sun is the center of the planetary system so we like that the word origin means both center and beginning.
I'm not even sure where you would direct your protests. It's not strictly Google's fault. Unity is also in the mix, but not entirely their fault. Also, there's the open-source project Mono that is involved, but it's not their fault either. It's complicated.
I'm really sorry about the interruption yesterday. Our service provider was (obviously) having some issues. I was going to wait to hear back from them before responding, but they haven't responded to my support ticket yet. It does appear that we have lost data from yesterday. It is highly doubtful that it will be recoverable, but I will let you know if they are able to recover any of it.
@BroAeronautics @EternalDarkness @Aarons123 The auto-crediting is just a re-design of the UI to make it more clear that an airplane is a successor of another player's work. The information has always been there, but it was just displayed poorly. I hope this helps.
Nice build and I'd love to curate this but there are a couple things preventing me from doing so. The airspeed gauge is not working correctly and there's no throttle control in the cockpit. If you add those, tag me on the post and I'll check it out again in VR for curation.
We are really busy with SR2 right now, so 1.8 is on hold for the moment. We are looking at probably summer at the earliest for the SimplePlanes 1.8 update. We're a small team, so it's hard to work on both at the same time. We were doing that for a while and we were just not making enough progress on SR2. Hard to believe we've been working on SR2 since 2016....
It sounds like you’re experiencing an issue with the Google Play Pass verification. First thing is try restarting your device. If that doesn't work then try clearing your cache:
Go to Settings > Apps > Google Play Store.
Tap Storage, then Clear Cache and Clear Data.
Also, check Your Play Pass Subscription is active:
Open the Google Play Store
Tap your profile icon, then go to Payments & Subscriptions > Subscriptions
Yes, it is fine to post your tool here. An .exe file is really no better or worse than installing a mod for SP. That is why we display the disclaimer when a player clicks on the download link for a mod. Ultimately, the player needs to trust the author, because even with the source code there's no way to know that was the actual source code used to build the mod/exe. Download at your own risk.
I'm sure this is obvious, but airplanes are different and are perfectly safe to download. There's no executable code in those.
@WalrusAircraft We've been waiting for the game development technologies to mature to the point where we could really build SimpleWheels the way it was meant to be. I'm not sure we're there yet, but we're getting closer.
Yep, sorry about this. Our SSL cert is expired, but it's really not a security risk at this point. They require yearly renewals, which is far more frequent than necessary and I believe the only reason they do that is so they can sell more certs.
I have been working with our service provider and the cert company to renew it since last week, but somebody dropped the ball. I'm not sure if it was me and there was something I was supposed to do or if they forgot to do something...I hope to have it back to normal soon.
@BogdanX We've considered adding a new rank before, but I always struggle with what color to make it. Black seems like the highest level color, just like black belts are the best in karate, and black holes are the best......stars.
lol, thank you but we don't need donations. Running ads on a website to recoup server costs is a standard business strategy.
@asteroidbook345 @Mustang51
@IMDABEST No, it's far too complicated for a stock plane. Stock planes ideally are somewhat simple so new players can at least hope to understand how they are built. This plane is a masterpiece.
Thanks for letting us know. I just pushed an update that prevents users with very low points from posting inline links. Let me know if you notice anything broken! :D
@AndrrewGarrison Whoa, I have a doppelganger! I'm sure you're doing it in good fun, but it's clearly causing some confusion. I would really appreciate it if you could change them to something else. Thanks!
Amazing build! This feels excellent in VR. I did notice the bindings on the joystick are set so that the trigger cycles the targeting mode and button A fires the guns. If that wasn't intentional, let me know and I can tweak the XML on this post to switch those bindings.
Wow! How did you fit so much funk into just 100kb of XML? Amazing!
+19Okay, everyone relax, and most importantly, don't talk to the AI.
+19I'm sorry about the visual changes due to the switch to linear color space. Unfortunately, we didn't have a choice. We will try to fix what we can, but things will look a little different after this update.
+19Thanks for playing! Happy New Year!
+19@Tully2001 Tasty is probably not the word I would use, but it was refreshing.
+19Go into the designer and click the menu button in the top right and then click Share Aircraft at the top left.
+19@LancasterAce Yep, we plan on having a stock shuttle.
+19Thanks for playing!
+18I just wanted to make it clear that I agree with @TheLatentImage 100% on this. The post in question is not breaking any rules here.

+18That was a fun read and I can ensure you that my new protectors are treating me quite well.

+17Wings no, helicopter rotors yes.
+17@Hedero I agree, nothing says "I love you" like dolla bills.
+17Wow, phenomenal work! Nice choreography, editing, music, sound effects, everything. It looks so good it's hard to believe it's SimplePlanes!
+17@Thatguy2020 Juno is the name of the sun in the game and the sun is the center of the planetary system so we like that the word origin means both center and beginning.

+15We need a jetpack for VR!
+15@bjac0 we'll probably spend a bit more time with the SP community in 2021 than we did in 2020.

+14Woohoo! Thanks for playing our game!

+14Amazing build and it works great in VR too!
+13Rumor is that there are a couple of keys hidden in the video. One for SimplePlanes VR on Oculus and one for Steam.

+13This looks wild but it does indeed fly.
+13I'm not sure why players are trying to give me bath water and at this point, I'm afraid to ask.
+12We intended to do this in v1.12, but sadly we didn't have time to get to it. We will remove it in v1.13, which we will release in early 2022.
+12Good idea, I added a Help tag for the forums.
+12@CenturyAerospace Yes, we are adding several new parts to help with building custom cockpits. We'll post more about it over the next few weeks.
