Why does the autocredit direct to Alisuchanka's KV-2? (In fact, why do almost all of your builds direct to it, even ones that have no connection to it at all?)
@DatTrainGuy19 I still plan to make something like that sometime, but it's the same case as the Latécoère 631: the base is so old that at this point it'll be better to start it from scratch
@KAIST idk man, the website rules do forbid misleading thumbnails so if a mod sees this they might take it down if they deem it too misleading. maybe tag one of them and ask them if this is still acceptable or not, that's probably the best way to be sure
Isn't this thumbnail a bit misleading? you show the zwilling version on the thumbnail when this post is in fact the single cannon version and the zwilling is only linked in the description
I'd say my biggest recent disappointment was my Olympic and Titanic. They both got over 50 upvotes but for the amount of work I put into them, I expected at least about 80-ish upvotes, but unfortunately I screwed up by making them be too many parts so most players couldn't even try them out.

@PilotBug Unfortunately no, this isnt that type of challenge. But EternalDarkness has an airship challenge going on right now, maybe check that one out.
@Tang0five The Royal Sovereign class is considered as the first real pre-dreadnought type battleship but the line between them and the preceeding ironclad type ships is pretty blurry, so if your design was maybe commissioned slightly earlier than 1890 or something but still generally resembles a pre-dread, then you are still good to go, the 1890 year is more of a guideline here:)
Hey there! your ships are awesome, really well made. I figured I'd let you know that there is a discord server dedicated to ship building in SP, where we share our building progress, help each other, have some events and so on. If you are interested, I'll leave an invite link here, I hope you dont mind: >>clicky<<
@Blueshift Im glad you like it! If your PC struggles with this, I recommend giving a try to the 1990 part version (link on the top of the description), it has way less detail but all the major functions (all guns and torps usable, walker, bridge interior, HUD) are still there, maybe that will work better:D
@soldier289 I'd love it if you did that! It's already the best Mikasa I could find on the website (hence why I used it for the screenshots), but a little update probably wouldn't hurt
I'm planning to start a Pre-dreadnought challenge in late-November/December, you could maybe enter with a Mikasa remake :D
@Randomplayer oh, it's on the forward mast, just above where the two poles of the mast are connected, slightly below the upper cross pole, there is a thicker cylinder, the HUD is inside that
@Tang0five Thanks! It was first requested about two years ago but I only started seriously working on it about a year ago. I had to restart the hull like 3-4 times, the rest was built within the last 2-3 months
Just a small advice: next time maybe try making a teaser forum post or something and only tag the people who specifically request to be tagged instead of mass tagging randoms, so you won't have to panic and delete comments under your post ;)
@Nitsu and I thank you for participating with your great build! You are on a great path and looking back on your earlier builds, you are imrpoving quickly. Good luck on your future builds!
@PapaKernels Yea, device limitation is a pain (hence why I put the 2500 limit in the beginning, to give low-end users a chance)
Still, it's not a bad entry and you can be very proud of yourself for being able to do this much even with your device limitations.
Thanks for participating! o7
The ship has a sleek and speedy design while still retaining the typical dreadnought features, giving off a quite aggressive and fearsome vibe.
- Design/Accuracy (12/15):
The design seems a tiny bit mixed, the superstructure being somewhat underdeveloped (reminiscent of early dreadnoughts) while features some newer tech such a catapult launched seaplane, but the latter seems to be the result of a refit (along with other things)
The ship seems to take a lot of inspiration from the Japanese fast dreadnoughts of the era with its design and especially the max speed of 27 knots.
Adding the ship's motto below the name at the stern was a bit strange to me but not problematic. The ship's bottom being so curvy and quite shallow is also quite unusual for a dreadnought, I imagine it would roll a lot in heavy seas.
The motor launch design is a bit weird to me, they kind of look like little yachts rather than military boats.
- Details (14/15):
The ship features reasonable details, not going over the top but still working out a lot of parts. Things like chairs, speaking tubes, binoculars, even signs warning not to use naked flames near ammunition really stood out to me.
Individual weapons like the open top AA guns have some quite okay detailing on them.
Overall, the whole ship has a nice balance of details and part count, trying to bring the most out while staying within the limitations
- Features (17/20):
The build features a long list of features, from usable, camera-aimed main guns and secondaries, auto-aimed anti air weaponry, torpedoes, a bridge interior and even a movable crane.
Having gyro control for steering and jet engines for propulsion was a bit underwhelming compared to the rest of the functions.
The half finished plane launching system is such a shame, the system seems to be well thought out (although I'm personally not a fan of using a missile as the plane's propulsion), too bad it was not finished and as a result, doesn't work.
- Build Quality (9/10):
There are some great part count saving methods in use, such as using a label image for the ship's emblem, or using other gizmos creatively to achieve greater detail.
Using the vanilla propellers to save parts was a nice idea, however, the scimitar propeller style was not the best choice in terms of looks.
- Performance (16/20):
The ship performs well, quite easy to control and works mostly well even on the ocean mod, apart from a little bit of bounciness which could have been improved.
The weapons are very easy to control although accurate aiming at large distances is not easy.
- Description and Information (15/15):
The description is very very detailed and is worth a small wikipedia page, with a full history, diagrams, many many screenshots, specifications and much more. While overall it might be a bit long, the amount of content is has very well compesates for it.
Additional Points (-0, +6):
+6 for the extra description effort (lengthy lore, diagrams, blueprints, even a battle map)
Upon first look the ship look marvellous! Smooth and clean design while perfectly representing the original ship. The first test run went well although I had to use faster time because the turrets are very very slow.
- Design/Accuracy (15/15):
To my knowledge, the build represents the original ship perfectly well, I didnt find any innacuracy.
- Details (12/15):
The ship is very nicely detailed although I feel like more could have been added such as railings, stairs etc. but things like the windows are nice additions.
- Features (15/20):
The ship has all of its weaponry being usable, all being auto-aimed and some nice rudder+custom prop based movement
- Build Quality (9/10):
The hull is just beautifully smooth and the gun aiming system is insanely sophisticated with each gun only being active if the selected target is within their firing arcs.
The build itself is super efficient, with fuselage slicing used all over the place to reduce parts and the builder also uses other parts very creatively, such as the wheels on the cranes. Label parts are also used a lot and the way the fuselage inlets are used on places like the funnels or searchlights is just ingenious.
- Performance (17/20):
The ship behaves excellently with the ocean mod, it sails smoothly even at some massive waves.
I'm personally not a fan of auto-aim only weapons but they are perfectly valid and get the job done. I feel like the main turrets are a tiny bit too slow, it's realisitc, but could be a bit faster to be more enjoyable. The aiming system itself works flawlessly however.
The use of custom propellers and actual rudder based steering is also great and works very nicely.
- Description and Information (14/15):
The description is awesome, with a great balance of text and screenshots and nice formatting. It includes a history section as well as the controls, and I really like the additional effort of building a whole new ship just for the screenshots.
Additional Points (-0, +3):
+3 for the effort of building a König class from scratch just to show it next to Bayern on the screenshots
The ship appears elegant, mighty and fearsome. The detail work immediately struck me and the design was overall pleasant to look at with the camo giving a great first impression.
- Design/Accuracy (13/15):
The design matches a refitted dreadnought from the second half of the interwar period/early ww2 with cataputls and dual purpose anti air weaponry, although a ship from this era would probably have a bigger, more developed superstructure.
The width of the ship is just slightly too thick in my opinion, the torpedo bulge could be reduced a bit.
- Details (15/15):
The detail work is astonishing. Even some very small details are worked out and they use some very creative solutions (more about this in the Build Quality segment).
The addition of things like rails around the catapult area, a small table with chairs, waving flags really stood out to me. The rigging is insanely worked out too with the adition of some nice signal flags too.
Additional detail work also put into things like the secondary and AA weaponry and some nice deck details.
The camouflage is simply incredible, very detailed (not to mention it's different on each side) and very pleasant to look at. It also somewhat achieves the goal of breaking up the ship's silhouette.
- Features (16/20):
The ship has quite a list of features: apart from the main guns, the secondary and AA guns are also usable, down to the small 50 cal machine guns scattered around the ships. The addition of usable fixed aim torpedoes is also a great touch.
The addition of a catapult is great too, such a shame that it lacks an airplane to launch
- Build Quality (9/10):
The overall quality of the build is great, such as not lagging my device too much, despite the large part count.
The build uses many creative solutions to reduce somewhat that part count though, including creative part usage for extra detail without extra parts (magnests, airbrakes, rotator backs etc.), a lot of fuselage slicing and even utilizes creative use of labels such as for making ladders.
I especially liked the efficient way the signal flags were made.
Using the vanilla propellers to save parts was a nice idea, although I personally feel like that about 50 parts (my personal estimate to recreate all 4 props) for a custom built propellers wouldnt have made too big a difference.
despite all the part saving efforts, the build still passed the 2500 part count limit.
- Performance (15/20):
The ship's speed is fine, however the rudder shift is very slow to point that it was slightly running the experience: swinging out to one direction was fine, going back to 0 was very slow.
The main weaponry had a similar problem: while I would have been fine with the turrets turning at a realistic speed, the fact that the camera aim was equally slow. I feel like if the camera had faster turning speed, having to "wait up" for the turrets, would have made the experience much better.
The secondary weapon aim was also quite slow but mostly tolerable.
The ship work quite well with the ocean mode though, and the system to dampen the waves is super clever.
- Description and Information (12/15):
The description is very long and detailed with some very neat additions. The explanatory pdf is great and the commissioned shipgirl is also a nice little addition although it could have been displayed in the description itself, instead of through a clickable link.
I find the amount of screenshots a bit too much. I'm also a not a fan of leaving specific details like the years to the player to decide, it's your ship, you should specify these.
The nickname is also a nice addition to the lore
Additional Points (-5, +9):
-5 for passing the 2500 line 1 time
+6 for the camouflage
+3 for the extra description effort
Upon first look, the ship very well captures the look and feel of japanese dreadnoughts and could probably pass for a real design as well. Taking it out to the sea was pretty good as well, spawning on the ocean mod is a bit bouncy at first, but once it settles, it performs quite well then. The controls were also quite easy to use.
- Design/Accuracy (15/15):
As mentioned above, the ship's design is really great, and if it were a real life design, it would fit perfectly into the IJN fleet of the time.
- Details (13/15):
The ship has some pretty nice detail work. Not too much, but still has some, quite balanced. Little things like the speaking tubes were nice additions.
While the turrets have some railings on their tops but there are no railings anywhere else on the ship, which I feel like should have been added.
The rigging is also a great addition as well as the ladders on the turrets and the little ammo boxes next to the AA guns.
- Features (15/20):
The ship has all of its weaponry being usable, from the main battery (which has centralized aiming) through the secondaries and the AA guns (which are auto aimed).
One thing I feel like could have been better is the separation of the port and starboard side secondaries either by AGs or by simply renaming them, because currently both sides fire all the time.
Making even the searchlights movable was a nice little addition. They dont really do anything just turn, but it's still a nice little aesthetic touch.
The build uses an interesting mix of jet engines and wings for turning, and jet engines only for movement (though it has custom built propellers that turn but they are only for decoration)
- Build Quality (6/10):
The build uses a few part saving methods but I feel like more could have been done, for example using slicing for the rigging instead of making each cable a separate part. The railings on the turrets are also slightly wasteful. Despite these, the ship is still quite beautifully constructed.
One thing I especially liked is the use of a magnet for the chrysanthemum flower on the bow, a very creative solution.
What I feel like is a missed opportunity is the rudder and propellers: the builder took the time to make a rotating custom propeller and then didn't place any wings in it and used jets for movement, even though they could have made the propulsion using the propellers.
The same applies to the steering: there is a working rudder and it even has a wing in it to provide actual steering power, but the builder also added steering jetd too.
- Performance (10/20):
The ship starts a bit rough when being spawned on the ocean mod and needs some time before it stops bouncing and settles down, however after that, it performs mostly well on the waves (larger ones make it bounce again though).
The mixed movement and steering system is a bit strange to me. It gets the job done but the opportunity to make it realistic using actual propellers and rudder was there. Nonetheless, it works well.
The ship lacks any kind of limitiation for speed so it can exceed the designed max speed by a lot.
- Description and Information (12/15):
The description is very nice with a great mix of text and screenshots, all nicely formatted. It includes a brief history section, specifications, controls, and an arry of screenshots that is just enough to present the ship without being too much.
Upon first look, the ship appears to be a very faithful representation of Bretagne in her post-refit form, with an awesome balance of details and part count. What immediately struk me after spawning in is the funnel smoke and the flags, very nice details.
- Design/Accuracy (15/15):
The builds seems to very accurately reflect Bretagne in her later years, including such hardly noticeable but important details as her aft 4 casemate guns being removed following a modernization (I did find some sources claiming the forwardmost 4 was removed too but even wikipedia only mentions the aft 4 so I'll take it).
Overall, the ship looks great and as far as I can tell, very accurate to the original.
- Details (12/15):
The ship's deatiling is minimalistic in some places but most of the major details are there albeit simplified a bit. I feel like part count could have allowed the addition of railings which would have increased her score but I'm guessing the builder's device had reached its limits.
The addition of flags on the bow and stern of the ship (which even wave although only at their bases) is a nice touch as well. Things like AA guns, searchlights, lifeboats and so on all have this nice minimalistic approach where they are not too detailed but convey the look and feel of the real thing.
The usage of rockets for funnel smoke is an amazing detail and very well executed
The addition of a range clock is also nice, too bad it's not functional.
Unfortunately, some detail parts are not properly attached ans fall off upon spawning which is such a shame.
- Features (11/20):
The builds allows the use of every type of weaponry onboard including the main and secondary guns, and the AA weaponry, the latter being auto-aimed (although not all AA guns are usable, some are just decorations). The main and secondary cannons are also synced up which is a nice feature.
The ship uses hidden propellers and a jet engine for propulsion and steering and it is made in a way to be mostly immersive although it is possible to steer the ship even when it's stopped.
Starting in reverse is also kind of strange but not a big problem.
The starting/out of limit position of the secindaries is also not too nice as they literally just clip into the ship.
- Build Quality (6/10):
The build uses slicing to some extent however, I feel like it could have been used even more at many placed where currently it is slighty wasteful with parts (e.g. making each rigging cable a part on its own instead of making two at once with sliced fuselage)
The un-attached parts are also somewhat disappointing.
The secondaries could have been solved to not clip into the ship by default but instead were left like that.
- Performance (14/20):
Although a bit bouncy (especially at the beginning after spawn), the ship works mostly well with the ocean mod. I could not reach the ship's actual max speed but was only very slightly short of it so I'm willing to accpet it as accurate.
Steering is quite nice, not actual rudder based but replicates the effect fairly well which is a nice feat.
The weapons are quite easy to use although the main guns turn way too quickly and some actual aiming system would have been nice.
- Description and Information (7/15):
The description is a bit barebones. There is a brief history part which is great, then there are two screenshots and that is it. The controls are included in the in-game instructions but I feel like they could have been added to the description too. There could have been a few more screenshots as well.
The ship appears very nice and captures the essence of the original vessel very well. The first test run was mostly pleasant with the exception of not being able to bring the ship to a halt.
- Design/Accuracy (15/15):
The build to my knowledge accurately represent Fusō in her later years. Most of the details appear to be in order, even her insanely complicated pagoda mast, kudos for making that.
- Details (12/15):
The ship features some very nice detail work with railings, extensive rigging, a lot of deck equipment, even the rails around the catapuls and a sort of railing around the top of the funnel and so on, all very well made.
The detail that some of the rooms on the mast are hollow and have see through windows is also very nice, the only thing that would have made them even better if they weren't empty, but they are still quite nice.
One thing I noticed right away is the lack of anchors, which I feel like a ship with this level of detail should have included.
- Features (12/20):
The builds allows the use of every type of weaponry onboard including the main and secondary guns, and the AA weaponry, the latter being auto-aimed.
The main and secondary cannons have an interesting system (borrowed from another builder) in place where the ship enters a port or starboard firing mode, in which the main guns are synced up with either side's secondaries. This system worked very well for me and I rather enjoyed it as it gave a sort of realism to it (given that dreadnoughts usually engaged with broadsides)
- Build Quality (7/10):
The build makes great use of the fuselages slicing althoug I noticed a missed opportunity with the rigging, but other details like the beams of the elevated platforms around the funnels, the hollow rooms and the railings are well made with it.
The build uses vanilla propellers to save on parts but they dont work too well (in fact, the innermost two doesnt work at all) and they are not too aesthetically pleasing either.
- Performance (10/20):
The ship performs quite well with the ocean mod, and the use of actual propellers and rudder based steering is a nice feature, too bad the former has a little mistake in the form of the two inner propellers not working. The lack of reverse or even just stopping the ship is a bit disappointing though.
The ship is slightly faster than the real one but the difference is not too large so it's acceptable
The way the main and secondary weapons are solved is quite unusual but works very well and is very easy to use.
- Description and Information (11/15):
The description very fair, not too long, not too short, has a balanced mix of text and images, good formatting, nothing special but gets the job done. I gave it one additional point because I felt it has an almost perfect balance of text, length and images.
At first the ship could easily be mistaken for a battlecruiser than a dreadnought, but the added torpedo bulge somewhat compensates for it. The ship handles nicely, even taking the ocean mod mostly well, aiming is not easy however.
- Design/Accuracy (10/15):
The ship's design appears to be heavily inspired by the battlecruiser HMS Hood, and while the builder did add a large torpedo bulge, the slim and sleek hull shape of a battlecruiser hull is still apparent.
Other than this the rest of the design seems to reflect that of a refitted dreadnought/battlecruiser, with increased AA weaponry and aviation facilities amidships.
- Details (9/15):
The build has moderate details with things like rigging, a ship's emblem on the funnel and even a flag on the main mast, but the decks lack any kind of small detailing.
The ship features a simple but nice camouflage as well.
- Features (12/20):
The build includes usable main battery and AA guns, as well as a usable AA rocket system which is unique among the entries. The rudder not moving (even if it's just cosmetic) is slightly disappointing
- Build Quality (7/10):
The build use some great solutions to reduce part count such as fuselage slicing and also makes extensive use of the label part. Some individual parts such as each AA gun are highly detailed but it seems to me it's done at the expense of other details. For this part count, there could have been more details at other parts of the ship, although the camo does somewhat justify it.
- Performance (11/20):
The ship performs quite well on the ocean mod (only a little bit bouncy), the steering is a bit too fast however and is solved using a gyro which takes a bit away from the immersion.
The 25 knot max speed of the ship is authentic however, sort of compensating the battlecruiser look.
The turret turning is slightly fast too, although it makes a bit easier aim (some proper aiming camera or something would have been nice though) but takes away from the immersion: should they have been just slightly slower, it would have been a good middle ground between realistically slow but fast enough to be fun.
- Description and Information (10/15):
The description is quite nice. It includes a great history section, technical details, a good amount of screenshots (lthough I felt like a one or two more could have been added showing the ship in action) and the controls are lister here too and the whole thing is formatted well.
Nothing too fancy, it gets the job done well
The ship's upper hull and superstructure appears to be squashed at first, definitely not as tall as it should be. The non-smooth lower hull is also not so pleasing to look at but the many deck details, windows and other things somewhat compensate.
- Design/Accuracy (9/15):
The ship's superstructure appear to be much shorter than it should be, especially the funnels. Another inaccuracy worth mentioning is the inside of the secondary barrels is for aome reason painted in purple.
Other than these, the rest of the detail work seem to match the real ship.
- Details (10/15):
The ship has a nice array of details from deck equipment, to vents, rigging and even some nice swinging hooks on the cranes.
The searchlights having actual glass on them was a nice touch as well. The flag is also nice too, it could have been even better if it was waving.
The bridge being hollow was also nice addition even if it's completely empty, maybe some windows could have made it even better.
- Features (12/20):
The ship features usable main and secondary guns, and even hull mounted torpedo tubes which is great additional feature.
The main and secondary cannons have an interesting system in place where the ship enters a port or starboard firing mode, in which the main guns are synced up with either side's secondaries. This system worked very well for me and I rather enjoyed it as it gave a sort of realism to it (given that dreadnoughts usually engaged with broadsides)
The ship uses vanilla propellers to move and the builder was even able to make them okay looking for a ship propeller which is a great feat (but also nice of the builder to include additional jet engines in case the vanilla propellers fail in the ocean mod). Not being able to reverse however is a bit disappointing
The ship also uses a gyro for steering which also somehwat takes away from the immersion.
The many cameras placed around the ship are also great too although I noticed the one labeled "Bridge" probably didn't have its offset zeroes, so it's actually above the bridge.
- Build Quality (4/10):
The build is rather wasteful with parts, for example, the vent in front of the no.4 turret could have had both sides made with one set of parts, halving the amount of parts needed for that detail.
One thing that also really stood out to me was the lack of smoothing on the vertical parts of the hull, a rather unpleasant thing. What's even more strange is the builder buing inconsistent with this, because the lifeboats for example are all smoothed.
I can't decide if the insides of the secondary barrels being purple was left like that by accident or if it was done on purpose
- Performance (10/20):
The ship performs well with the oean mod (larger waves cause the vanilla props to stop but that's why the backup jet engines are added. They do work well in normal conditions though), has rather okay steering and even seems to match the maximum speed of the original.
The weapons were also quite easy and fun to use.
- Description and Information (10/15):
The description was quite okay, with a history section (split in two halves), some technival data and specifications and some cool screenshots with great formatting.
Additional Points (-0, +2):
+2 for using vanilla props and still making them look like normal ship propellers
did you just... enter your own challenge with an alt account?
+2@Ethantaing I won't
Why does the autocredit direct to Alisuchanka's KV-2? (In fact, why do almost all of your builds direct to it, even ones that have no connection to it at all?)
@SILVERPANZER yea, unfortunately I lost interest in tanks in the past few years, hence why I dont see much of a chance of that particular one finished
+1@DatTrainGuy19 I still plan to make something like that sometime, but it's the same case as the Latécoère 631: the base is so old that at this point it'll be better to start it from scratch

+1@Rohan Heya, what steam launch options did you use to enable windowed borderless mode?
@Blueshift Im glad you like it! If your PC struggles with this, I recommend giving a try to the 1990 part version (link on the top of the description), it has way less detail but all the major functions (all guns and torps usable, walker, bridge interior, HUD) are still there, maybe that will work better:D
@soldier289 I'd love it if you did that! It's already the best Mikasa I could find on the website (hence why I used it for the screenshots), but a little update probably wouldn't hurt
+2I'm planning to start a Pre-dreadnought challenge in late-November/December, you could maybe enter with a Mikasa remake :D
@Randomplayer oh, it's on the forward mast, just above where the two poles of the mast are connected, slightly below the upper cross pole, there is a thicker cylinder, the HUD is inside that
@Randomplayer CAM3, you can switch gun type with the Prev/Next weapon buttons o the HUD
@Tang0five Thanks! It was first requested about two years ago but I only started seriously working on it about a year ago. I had to restart the hull like 3-4 times, the rest was built within the last 2-3 months

+1The enemy ship used on the screenshots is IJN Mikasa by soldier289
Just a small advice: next time maybe try making a teaser forum post or something and only tag the people who specifically request to be tagged instead of mass tagging randoms, so you won't have to panic and delete comments under your post ;)
@HuskyDynamics01 final part count is around 3680, but Im making a 2k-or-less part version
+1I'm sorry, but I don't remember asking to get tagged, am I missing something here?
@Tookan You might wanna check out the latest entry on my Updates page :)
@SnoWFLakE0s it's literally how it is in the Funky trees announcement post
@Nitsu and I thank you for participating with your great build! You are on a great path and looking back on your earlier builds, you are imrpoving quickly. Good luck on your future builds!
@PapaKernels Yea, device limitation is a pain (hence why I put the 2500 limit in the beginning, to give low-end users a chance)
+1Still, it's not a bad entry and you can be very proud of yourself for being able to do this much even with your device limitations.
Thanks for participating! o7
