The new update (v0.6) increased the performance for me by 27.25% on average. If someone is having performance issues, try setting down water, shadow and/or reflection detail. My benchmarking has shown those to impact performance the most (atleast with this mod).
@baallzebub You can download them anyways I think, just when you're running a version that doesn't have the parts used in there, those parts will be missing.
@Dalton02 Here is a version with the cockpit detached and trailer deleted. I included the kingpin, one of the trailer legs and one side of the trailer suspension.
@Dalton02 Sure I could, but that won't help you. If you can't download it, your device is not powerful enough to run it in the editor and in the game. Using a trick that hides part count on the download doesn't magically increase performance. That's why I made a mobile version obviously. Removing the trailer also wouldn't help in that regard, as it only adds a tiny amount of parts compared to the truck. If you still want to try it even though you know this, let me know.
@Dalton02 Sure you can add other trailers and upload it, but I won't spend an upload for something you can simply do in the editor yourself. :D Just pull the trailer away and drop it in the top right corner to delete it.
@Dalton02 I made a mobile friendly version, if it's that what you're asking. If you really just want the truck, download it, remove the trailer and there you just have the truck. :D
@503rdAirborneSoldier My fastest and most versatile one that works in 1.4 (I hope it still works in 1.5 and didn't get screwed like my previous designs) is this one.
They have no agility though, they are torpedoes. You drop them in the direction you want them to go and they go straight into that direction. They could have a rudder, but it would be hard to control it while you have to control your plane close to the sea and close to the enemy.
@WalrusAircraft They have a spawn up at the Windmill Farm. I think it makes the most fun up there, though you have to click the "Restart" button a few times until you get lucky and they spawn there. You can make them crash into windmills or let them fall off the cliff. :D
@WalrusAircraft I think it would've been better if I based it off of your newer version, but I only got that idea when I was too far with the fixing and modifications, which I didn't want to do all over again. :D Did you catch anything yet?
@WalrusAircraft Sadly I had to scale it up to 1.5 times the size, otherwise it couldn't fit the convoy vehicles without the trailer looking completely oversized.
@GriffithAir I don't know how long WalrusAircrafts worked on his design, but it's been a 3-4 day job fixing and improving it until now. The truck is completely finished and I'm now working on a new trailer design that should hopefully do the job by keeping some wheels of the convoy vehicles on the ground.
@FennVectorCWA Most of it's length is just caused by the changelogs of each version. In future versions I might only put in the most recent changelog. :D
I'll join the bragging:
I switched from a Zowie FK1 to a Mionix Castor. Better sensor, better materials and the FK1 just didn't fit my hands that well anymore. Also the new feet from Zowie are complete garbage (black ones instead of the old white ones). Soft like butter and thin like paper. Scraping the mousepad after a month of use. :D The scrollwheel was a bit too hard and loud. Everything is better on the Mionix, simply Swedish craftsmanship.
I currently have an outback version with the studio sleeper cabin and a grill guard in development, based on your older flat top tanker. In 2 days I fixed the whole asymmetry you have had in it since the first version and deleted double-mirrored parts. :D
Also it has a completely new, easy to operate heavy duty coupling and the new tractor tyres, making it a pretty capable offroad vehicle. I removed the drivetrain to make the ride smoother, now I only have to get the trailer right, as it is supposed to hijack convoy trucks without disabling them (they get disabled when they stay too far from the ground for 10 seconds).
I'm sure you'll like it and in case you want to build further designs based on my fixed symmetrical version, you can do so without asking of course. :D
@NathanMikeska The problem is that right now it is actually a lot of guesswork when it comes to anything else than the map and buildings. Vehicles, parts, bridges and some others are either completely invisible or just have a box with black outlines.
I appreciate that you make these mod packs, but by just adding more assets and scripts you could make them much more useful. It's nice that you guys are working on them now and it seems you're going into the right direction. :D
The best thing is, we now get a whole pack of assets for Unity...and it includes no textures, vehicles or anything like that. Just meshes for static objects and the maps (maps without textures aswell of course)! :D
@Smasher I know the racetracks, that's what this one was tested on and made for. They don't have long straights though, so you can't even max out the speed. With any more speed and acceleration, you'll just fly off the track. :D
@WalrusAircraft It's simple lever physics combined with lots of precision and patience with the horrible auto-attachments, always attaching parts to attach points that are the furthest away from the point I have my cursor at (only happens with small parts in small spaces with lots of parts around them). :D
Now that I have a bit more experience with suspensions in SP, I'd probably do it a bit differently, as the wheels like to bend upwards on bumps on completely independent suspensions with lower and upper arms, which appears to be some kind of glitch. It doesn't happen on live-axle suspensions and also not on independent suspensions with only one arm, where the shocks have no joints and keep the wheels at the same camber angle. In reality this would bend the shafts of the shocks though, preventing them from moving any further and potentially making the dampers leak.
@Flightsonic I suppose he is a troll, was banned from Discord already by MediocrePlanes after spamming pictures. Also he simply doesn't want to install the drivers for his laptop...
Thank you guys for your support! I really like this design (especially because the AI fights kind of plausible with it in dogfight mode) and I will keep it updated as new parts, tools and options come in and I find new building techniques to make things work or look better. Maybe it will even receive a proper cockpit someday. :D
@Victor039 It has to be on free spin to work, it is not controlled by anything. In reality the artificial horizons move in a vacuum without any resistance, so they will always stay lined up with the horizon when the aircraft rotates, but in SP there are always some forces working on it, no matter how much you try to isolate it. The other problem is that the artificial horizon would have to move up and down completely freely aswell.
@BaconAircrafts Almost all big airliners have a lower deck, which is normally used for cargo/luggage, so it makes sense to go downstairs. But he said "secret upstairs room for the crew to sleep or chill". I can only think of the cockpits on the 747 and 380, the business class on the upper deck behind the cockpit on the 747 and the suites on the 380, but those are for paying passengers only. The crew is busy during the whole flight anyways. :D
Ah, I think he means the CRCs in the 747, 777, 787, A330, A350 and A380!
@Victor039 Yes, on a real artifical horizon the line in the middle has to move with the aircraft while the background stays steady. It would need a pretty complex contraption to replicate that in SP and even then it would just roll wherever it wants to roll to and get out of sync. I tried to make one without success, it was just constantly rolling as soon as the aircraft started to move. We will never have accurate cockpit instruments unless they are added as scripted parts to the game sadly. All we can do right now is making the cockpit panel look like it had an actual use. :D
@Victor039 It has cockpit lights, but lights in SP don't illuminate their surroundings. I don't know what you mean with the altitude thing. It doesn't have an altimeter, as it's impossible to measure the altitude physically in SP. You would need something to measure air pressure for that.
I thought about this aswell, but I knew the part count would crash the performance buget and it would take forever to make it, so I never even started. :D
@rcking2015 Trophy/short course trucks on one side, Axial Yeti, Vaterra Twin Hammers and HPI Apache on the other side. The body is way different though, I had a different design in mind, but this is how it turned out. :D
@Thechemmakingcourier Thanks! :D I would just really like to have a more durable chassis that can also survive large jumps on Sky Park City, but I guess that would require hard dampers, as they don't seem to get harder or softer with the speed at which the dampers are pushed/pulled like in reality, so it would make the suspension very hard in all situations.
Very nice build. Is it on purpose that it looks like a Jeep Wrangler?

@baallzebub Someone below you said that he could download it in 1.4 and it automatically changed the tires. :D
@baallzebub You can download them anyways I think, just when you're running a version that doesn't have the parts used in there, those parts will be missing.
I love you
@nfsplatinum The stream is normally on twitch.tv. They upload it on YouTube the next day or so.
@AndrewGarrison Is scaling allowed for the suspension parts?
@TacoAircraftCo Thanks! :D Actually I rushed this one. Was requested to make it for a replica and it took me ~30 minutes.

@WNP78 But there are no options to modify their scripts, so you could basically just spawn them via the dev console I guess.
The best thing is, we now get a whole pack of assets for Unity...and it includes no textures, vehicles or anything like that. Just meshes for static objects and the maps (maps without textures aswell of course)! :D
@BritishNarwhal7 @Dimetrodonscantfly If there is a place somewhere in SP.com where you can still upload pictures, I can make some.
@arcues No, those are normal inlets.
I love you
Runs way too well on PC, needs a trailer or two! :D
@Smasher I know the racetracks, that's what this one was tested on and made for. They don't have long straights though, so you can't even max out the speed. With any more speed and acceleration, you'll just fly off the track. :D
@Smasher Wasn't intended as a drag racer or a salt flat racer originally. :D I mean, I don't even know where to drive that around in SP, lol!
@PancakeAddiction Sure, that's the reason I uploaded it. :D
