Aside from the server issues, I will never invest in a game fully based in the cloud as I will not be able to own and/or access my game at any time I want, in any place. It would be like if you rented a car and the rental agency had a remote control that could turn it off and on when I want to drive it.
No release date yet, and it probably won’t be free, although they might do something like what happened with Juno where there are paid and free versions.
@Randomplayer I don’t know much about the PC market, I have a laptop. As far as PCs are concerned, the cost depends on a variety of factors such as new or used, buying or building, and you also have to buy a keyboard, mouse and monitor separately.
My one concern with this is the variables icon. Funny trees always felt slapped on in the first game, being only accessible through the XML editor. I hope at least for the sequel they add a full-on code editor for it.
@126 This is why I think maintenance updates should only come on an as needed basis, rather than every year like Jundroo plans to. They break mods and have issues that take lots of time to resolve.
All I want, especially with multiplayer, is to be able to build realistically performing and fun crafts without any sort of XML or physics exploits (even if they don’t look the best), as you can in Juno.
I’m no expert on this, so I’m probably wrong, but what exactly is a pulse detonation ion engine? I know what an ion engine is and I looked up pulse detonation engines, but what do they have in common? Is this a concept that combines the two?
@Nathangaming82075 So a sentence such as:
“Your point is wrong because (counter argument).”
“Fun fact, if you shut your mouth, you can shut up.”
Still sounds like an insult to me.
@Nathangaming82075 It is not economical to update this game as it is based on old code and a sequel is being developed. Halting development of a sequel to make an update makes no sense.
@Nathangaming82075 As I have said,
1. SimplePlanes2 is currently being developed and is the current focus of Jundroo.
2. SimplePlanes1 multiplayer will never be profitable in any scenario.
3. Multiplayer is very difficult to develop and isn’t just something you can add to a game, especially one not designed for multiplayer.
4. I am just a random user on this site trying to explain to you that multiplayer isn’t possible, not a developer who can change things.
If you still don’t understand that multiplayer is not feasible in SimplePlanes1 by any stretch of the imagination, feel free to ask me any questions you have.
@Nathangaming82075 I use it too, as well as many other players, and I have no plans to stop. It makes no logical or financial sense to implement multiplayer in a game not designed to support it running on older code that has a sequel coming next year.
@Nathangaming82075 So a DLC for a nearly 10 year old game that is being replaced soon that is free for members of a single online service that you happen to have? Multiplayer takes time, money, and effort for a game that is being replaced and will likely not be used by many players. It’s wishful thinking at best and a detriment to the development of the sequel at worst.
@Nathangaming82075 SimplePlanes has an old codebase and progress on a sequel is already underway, as well as multiplayer being costly and requiring servers. Game development is difficult, and there is no simple way to add multiplayer to a game as complicated as this.
@Kerbango @crazyplaness I have bought it three times as well. As three users bought it three times, multiplying to nine, minus two from SimplePlanes2 equals seven, which is also the same number as developers working at Jundroo, SimplePlanes2 will release in seven months on February 5, 2025.
@Rb2h Then SimplePlanes would be asleep, not dead.
+1It’s 10 years old, far too young to die.
+5@KisherSmord Automod is designed to prevent against spam forum posts such as Verifpro and other scams.
+3One problem with the last suggestion is that people could spam report someone and the automod could ban them, even without cause.

@V
A little late to this forum, but if this is possible, how would I go about accomplishing it?
+1@Graingy Me?
If comrade looks suspicious, report them, da? There are western bots hiding everywhere, we cannot be too careful!
+1The original sleeper is one of my favorite aircraft in this game, excited to see an updated version.
+1Something not made by me.
@overlord5453 It will definitely be paid on PC, but Juno has paid and free mobile versions.

Both.
@RepublicofWrightIsles I have heard there is a way to get old mods without scripts to run on android, is this the case?
@F16xl Mobile has Snowstone. It lacks Maywar.
My one concern with this is the variables icon. Funny trees always felt slapped on in the first game, being only accessible through the XML editor. I hope at least for the sequel they add a full-on code editor for it.
+4I went in this ready to explain again why mods on mobile isn’t possible, but this seems like a plausible scenario.
+10I was (maybe still am) the face of the “bronze build quality with platinum points” user category.
+2@126 This is why I think maintenance updates should only come on an as needed basis, rather than every year like Jundroo plans to. They break mods and have issues that take lots of time to resolve.
+2Is there a new beta and how do I access it?
+1T
It’s not a bug, it’s a feature.
+2Cube 727.
+3Rest in peace.

Welcome back!
+1There are small islands on the PC version of SimplePlanes, but they don’t do anything other than exist.
+1@Salah001XTripleVage One million players of server space plus $0.00 income means a net loss.
+1@Nathangaming82075 So a sentence such as:

When people run out of facts in an argument, they resort to insults.

+2@Nathangaming82075 Ate you talking about mobile mods? Those are not possible because the scripts do not function with software from IOS and Android.
+2@Nathangaming82075 As I have said,

@Nathangaming82075 SimplePlanes2 will be ported to mobile.
+1@Nathangaming82075 If the multiplayer is paid, you might as well buy SimplePlanes2 instead.
+2@MonsterhunterIndonesia Andrew has said that the game will be ported to mobile after an initial PC release.
+6@Nathangaming82075 I use it too, as well as many other players, and I have no plans to stop. It makes no logical or financial sense to implement multiplayer in a game not designed to support it running on older code that has a sequel coming next year.

…
+1Obviously this is for category 3: Funny Builds
@X99STRIKER It’s been a while.
+1@WayneInfinity0526 This is confirmed in the trailer.
Unleaded 87 octane with 10% ethanol.
When a single craft wouldn’t fit on the ROM, it’s probably not worth the effort.
