Very busy. Regretfully I don’t get much free time so the project I’m currently working on… I uhhh… I haven’t made any real progress on in a hot minute :/

    Doing alright otherwise.

The AP is just a gyro a friend helped me install because one of the ‘unusual flight characteristics’ I mentioned was that when trying to fly level at high altitudes, the nose would start to continuously push up and make control, let alone landing the damn thing impossible. The ‘AP’ just forces the aircraft back into level flight and keeps it level with the horizon, albeit it does this very quickly and violently…
Part of me has wanted to do a remaster using what I know now but I’ve been busy with a different project (at least when I have free time to use)

  • A330 243 MQ1 Black 8 months ago

“Special physics” is one way of putting it XD

I did that way back when I was still learning things and tried to Frankenstein mash different wings and fuselage parts together which resulted in some very… unique flight characteristics.

Unfortunately that’s way outside of my specialty. Also I feel like Kamata-kun would be difficult to make even if I did have the skills because it drags along the ground which would present a bit of a problem in controlling.

Gonna agree partially with you there. For me, it’s the human aspect that interests me in not just aviation disasters but also maritime. Be that the small seemingly inconsequential chain of mistakes that lines up for something to happen, the lessons learned from the hubris of man, and the stories told by those who survived. In any such disaster you see such a wide range of humanity, from the heroes to the cowards.

I mean I wasn’t naming individuals. Pretty sure the one post we’re both thinking about was actually originally written by a different six year old and what was saw on the one post was just a copy/paste.

  • I'm concerned 10 months ago

Perhaps I might not be the most… qualified person to post here considering all that I’ve posted in my time on the site but I’m still gonna give my two cents.

Honestly, I think it just boils down to kids being stupid. They don’t see the people killed in accidents as people who had lives, hopes, and dreams, but just as silly numbers, probably because they’re too young to grasp what that really means. It could also be a generational thing with some kind of ‘dark humor’.

I see a lot of the same shorts too. Either TFS or SP in nature, always with one of three stupid songs over it, misspelled captions on the video… I might be too old to understand it. The worst ones are the fictional crashes, the same old ‘Lifeboat Airlines’ or ‘Alright Airlines’ I see spammed in my feed again and again. Or god forbid some crap a 6 year old posted to the SP site about Banban Turbo Lines whatever the hell…

  • I've been waiting to know about the cause of the 2024 haneda airport runway collision but... is still under investigation according to wikipedia! 10 months ago

You do realize that it takes several months for a preliminary report to be written up and even longer for a final report to be published, right?

  • STOP. 10 months ago

I appreciate you trying to bring this to attention and believe me I get your frustration. I get so many 'successors' that are literally just reposts with zero changes, just changes to paint color, or the worst being ones that are 'crash sims' where they only add detachers (and don't even hide them, they just take a part off, toss on a detacher, and crudely put the part back on).

To me personally though, it's gotten to a point where I'm just tired of reporting zero effort no change garbage and I don't really even report them anymore. Is it 'free game' once it's uploaded? Sure. Rules also stipulate though that several major changes have to be made to a successor to make it legitimate, and just throwing on a few detachers doesn't do that.

Either way, I've reached a point where I cannot be bothered to care anymore unless the person is trying to bypass the credit system. Otherwise I just let it go, better things in the world to get frustrated with. At its worst it's annoying in the same way when you're trying to swat a fly away and it keeps coming back. My advice, just ignore it. One way or another, you're gonna get to a point where you just get tired of it and just say 'screw it'.

Appreciate the request but I’m afraid not. The globe livery has some very intricate design choices and replicating that in a way that looked clean and symmetrical would be very difficult. The stripes on the tail would also be difficult to do. I mean I could easily do it, but doing it in a way that allows that rudder to move is very hard.

I also really only do replicas of aircraft involved in incidents or accidents, generally those that are a little less well known. Worry not though, I got another thing cooking up right now as well as plans for a first ‘from the ground up’ project once I hit 10K points. Was hoping my most recent post would get me there but I’m unfortunately still short of that mark :/

I never leave. The process really goes like this

I choose a project and find a suitable base plane
I do basic color fuselage cutting
    I procrastinate
    I do the tail
    I procrastinate

Rinse and repeat + a busy schedule means things I could get out in like two weeks take like two or three months. Even when I’m not doing anything in regards to builds/modifications, I’m still active on the site, on MP, and on SP discord servers.

I dunno about that. At least you build stuff from the ground up so I’d say some points are well earned for you.
I once asked some friends how I could get more points and the main suggestion was to make forum posts. Unfortunately I don’t really have much to talk about/want to talk about the begin with so I never do that.

Thanks. They were hell to make. Normally I use fuselage slicing to make text but with the way Chinese characters appear, the normal slicing I do with English characters didn’t work so I had to find a workaround. Took like three weeks to get right, especially with the curvature of the fuselage at the front.
