I know this'll likely get circulated in the various discords and, hell, maybe even the subreddit. I'm well known enough, that it might actually get around that i've left. But, I wouldn't put dimes on it.

@Majakalona It's a very big factor. the F/A-44 took almost a year of tuning, only to get barely any attention.

The F-71 was turned into two meme aircraft that got 20 upvotes and over 700 downloads combined, while my original aircraft got 6 upvotes and about 160 downloads.

The website seems to value countless
replicas and meme posts over anything else, and it leaves builders such as myself who spend countless hours on a project, only to get a third as much attention as a post that only gains popularity for its flashy thumbnail, meme status,
and/or it's lack of effort. Many spring to mind, none of which will be named.

Another example of disappointing ROI here is my T5, T5B and T6, I think... 90 ish downloads combined and 10 upvotes for a weeks worth of work? It's just, frankly, not worth the time or effort anymore, just to get buried underneath yet another meme.

I used to see this as a hobby, but now it just feels like shooting at the moon and expecting it to shoot back
    .

Looks more like a 1989 or 1990, too little power for a 1998 car and low-noses were outlawed after 1995 for safety concerns.

@F1Fan8910 T-Cam wasn't a thing until 1998. Also, I based the head protection off the FW18, which had pretty thin but still tall barriers.

@CLAZZcompany SP has very difficult downforce and suspension physics. This is the best I can do with my limited knowledge of building cars in this game. Thank you for your compliments though, I Take pride in my F1 builds because of how much I love the cars and sport as a whole.

@Krikkit42 even the NR37 still had about 650rpm. And I agree about the overall fire rates. The Colt Mk12 20mm fires 1000rpm+, post-war M2s could achieve 1200rpm. Hell, not to mention the British .303s that could achieve 1500rpm (who would use them though). The only aircraft machinegun with 600rpm fire would be pre-war, 1936 at the latest.

@BeeEngineer I'd say mandate a removal of missiles. How will it be fair if nobody is allowed countermeasures or missiles but the few people that threw Sidewinders on before the rule change can keep aforementioned sidewinders.

  • Early Cold War fighters Challenge (CLOSED) 1.9 years ago

    A few issues:
First Air to Air missile in service was the Aim-4 Falcon in 1956
No jet fighter using machine guns had less than 6 guns. Try shooting down a target going 600mph with 4 .50 cals, ain't gonna happen.
The aircraft Rotary Cannon was around as early as 1946, albeit in quite primitive form.
Countermeasures were deployed by the RAF as early as 1941.
F-94 Starfire had afterburning engines when it was introduced In 1950
