Cheers! I think I would need another 200 parts or so to really do her justice. But this is an adequate place holder until someone does better. Your nose is awesome, btw. @F104Deathtrap
Oh this is just my cup of tea. I do, however, have a monster of a SP project on the go right now, so might struggle to find time to take part. I love the decor in your foyer, too.
@Razor3278 Even the chubby Swedish girls are hot. True fact.
@ChiChiWerx Thanks! She really was a fairly good equivalent to the Sabre. The early ones, at least.
@Tang0five Cheers! Ive read that the Flygvapnet pilots liked to rat race against F-86 pilots, as the J-29 had a little bit of a performance advantageon some areas. Against the MiG-15? I havent read much, but the Faggot was conceived as a bomber interceptor, the Tunnan as a fighter-interceptor first, and a fighter-bomber second. Any comparitive on line talk on the three very very quickly descends into a mig vs sabre slagging match.
Im tempted to think that the tree are all more or less equal.
Thanks matey! The lanc was my first serious attempt at a «proper» replica, built on an iPhone6. Ive since gotten an iPhone8 and learned a wee bit about how to build interiors/wings/custom bits (gear, control surfaces, gun sights etc). Although doing a «proper» Folland Gnat is sort of tempting, too...@Tang0five
Im not too sure; Im thinking about taking a fresh dig at the Lancaster, since Ive gotten a better iPhone and learned a thing or two since my first attempt. Or maybe another jet. This kite here is bloody epic. I really like the canopy frame detailing. @Tang0five
Sweet beans as Mr. RailfanEthan likes to say. I think in this context that is a good thing. I also got a hint of Clancy from the description too. Good stuff!
Nah, I think I’ll let her be. If you want to make the prop alteration before you test her then great! But if not, no big deal. Her take off performance is marginal, due to her being over her safe take off weight, you see, but her flight performance is ok-ish, once you drop tanks and start using ordinance. I have two more entries in the works, too! Great challenge. @Dimkal
Many thanks! Im glad that the old girl holds together. Im pretty chuffed with the nozzles myself...@Tang0five
Cheers! This kite was a pita to build. This is actually take three of four. I struggled with the shapes and proportions. I think its still a wee bit off, but good enough is good enough, what? @ChiChiWerx
This isnt so hard to simulate, albeit loosely.
Connect two hinges (ideally with base mesh disabled) together, with the exhaust vane on top. Then set one to «open» on throttle, the other to «close». The one that closes on opening throttle should have more travel and travel faster, the other should have less travel andctravel slower.
You then get exhaust vanes that close on opening the throttle, only to slowly open up slightly again. Not ideal, but it looks cool.
Check my F-15 to see it in practise.
This is nice. The YA-9 competed against the YA-10 and lost. Partly because of politics, partly because of the advantages the YA-10 represented. I seem to remember that the engine placement on the 9 was frowned upon. Low in the airframe as they are, they are exposed to ground fire and debris ingestion. The podded engines in the 10 were looked upon as a better config for the CAS role.
Indeed. As flown by the brave chaps of the RAAF in the Solomons, 1943 onward against the Japs. Which, btw, was my all time favourite campaign in IL-2 1946. @Tang0five
Many thanks! She was a little daunting to build, the part count started to get silly and she handles so much better than her real life counterpart, but hey, do you want realism or do you want fun? ;-) @ChiChiWerx
Thanks! @Trainzo
This is really quite splendid. Lots of detail and accurate too!
+1Thanks matey. In the end I just gave up. This iPhone maxes out at around 700 parts. There are so many details I would have liked to add. @Tang0five
+1Cheers! I think I would need another 200 parts or so to really do her justice. But this is an adequate place holder until someone does better. Your nose is awesome, btw. @F104Deathtrap
Ok, I just uploaded my monster. Now to build something with one engine and less than 300 parts...
@F104Deathtrap Here she is.

Crikey. This is a hot kite. Good job, old boy!
+1Nice concept!
Dobre! Det er Russisk på Norsk. Detfor ble jeg litt forvirret...
Hva er rysk? Mente du tysk? I så fall, guten tag mein herr! @Minecraftpoweer
Ah. Svensk. Im in Norway, right next door! @Minecraftpoweer
400kr? NOK? DKK? SEK?@Minecraftpoweer
Beans? @RailfanEthan
Abso - bloody - lutely wonderful!
+1And universal balance is restored. @RailfanEthan
But what about the beans? @RailfanEthan
Dont let me stop you! The more the merrier, pluss thos one is not going to set the world on fire and Im sure yours will be much better. @ChiChiWerx
Im in.
@Tang0five Much obliged, old boy!
@mikoyanster Many thanks.
Thank you Mr Werx. @ChiChiWerx
Thanks! I got to the end of the build and thought that it lacked something. The beak and the name were the last things to fall into place. @Carbonfox1
@Dimkal Cheers!
@SledDriver Many thanks!
France became independent from whom? @bang091
+1Very, very nice.
One small issue. The RnoAF penant has its point toward the tail. Totally counter intuitive, I know.
Good fun to fly. Well built, too.
Huh, you did. Sorry! I missed it. I got second prize, too! Yay me! @Sgtk
+2Whats the eta on that result now? @Colonel1J2R3Wolf
Did this contest ever get judged?
Nope. Im from Scotland. So basically whomever England are playing against. Nothing personal to my Southern friends, but it is what it is. @ChiChiWerx
+1Of course my dear fellow. Only the best where you’re concerned.
Oh, and could you kindly pop over to mtbr? I left you a message. @Alien
Sweet beans as Mr. RailfanEthan likes to say. I think in this context that is a good thing. I also got a hint of Clancy from the description too. Good stuff!
Nice. Looks like a burger joint, but handles like a bistro.
Thumbs up, old boy!
Very nice!
Many thanks! Im thinking of revisiting this one soon... @DJS8Corporations
@mikoyanster
Many thanks for the spot!

@carrot2110 Thanks! This was not easy. The Eagle is a bloody complex shape.
I think I have something to enter here... cool challenge.
+1Well, I picked a bad week to build an F-15 it seems. This is awesome.
